Dueling with all of those hacked items was some of the most fun I had in D2, not just PKing entire rooms with one multishot but running into other decked our chars was intense.
On Asia server long before runewords or synergies were introduced, there was a bugged ring that gives +28 to amazon bow skills, 100% pierce and massive amount of str and dex. The duping method used back in the day when 56k was around was to disconnect the phone line while getting picking up corpse exact moment before you get killed again. It has something to do with lag, and the method doesn't guarantee 100% success. It causes your item to be returned while your corpse is still on the ground. I played D2 when it it first came out. So this video is definitely nostalgic for me lol. I remember seeing and having some of the mentioned items such as the ogre gauntlets, white ring. But one thing I didn't see was the white chainmail armor which was extremely OP lol. I believe there was a few "whites".

The item is formally named "Tal Rasha's Horadric Crest". I'm not sure if this was a bug or a hack or what. I was personally duped by this bug before.
you could also do a regular death mask with an amethyst socketed in it so it appeared like the same color as tal rasha's in the trade window and switch them out. a relatively low level item but still a dumb scam for noobs against other noobs. :P harmless. people traded like that constantly in the game, really fast, dropping items in and out of the trade window, cause everyone was so frenzied trying to find a good deal/trying to force a bad deal on someone/trying to get some charity. trade scamming was everywhere, but also random drops in town.. i got free overpowered bugged items all the time. the bugs made the game great.

was looking for this comment, i remember being 10-12 and i am 30 years old now and still never understood how all those ITHS, white rings, Ocy rings, hex charms made it into b.net
Don't forget the charged helm. You could put it on and take it off and your charge bolt skill would keep going up. You'd end up with a charged bolt that filled the screen. Anyway the Ith was my favorite. That was so much fun back in the day.
yea i remember my zon with white rings, ith bow, ogre gauntlets etc hahaha was hilariously over powered. oh and invent with 40 hex's haha they should bring it back. was heaps of fun
I didn't forget about any of this...I had them all and had everything on the game...closed b net and open.. on closed if it wasn't the best % I didn't have it I used to give it 2 friends or sell on d2jsp...skill + 20 lifers with 30/20/20...any open b net hackers here?!? Who remembers night shiver or ladderhall?!? I want ranked 1 on countless ladders 1.08 were the days spent countless days on this game and has been the only game I have always come back 2 years after years. Best game ever!
I always suspected that creating the bugged items had something to do with chipped gems. The reason being that back in the day, high level players used to join into our low level games and offer very nice uniques for large numbers of chipped gems. They wouldn't take anything else--not flawed, regular, etc. They only wanted chips, usually a stash-full at a time, and would offer high level uniques that I'd store for later.
@P I did a lot of duping had a lot of mules and godly unperms. Back in .08 days I had some of the perm dupes and characters loaded with mules. I had a decent clan on west ladder. And knew a few of the big sellers as I sold for awhile two. I was like 16 in school lol. What I was told about the white items from a south Korean duper friend who still has a store up. They were made on non ladder characters using the hex editor, somehow they found a way to bring non ladder players to ladder with these insane items and dupes were made. They became unperms but the original one that came over was perm. This lasted only a few days before it patched. Y'all remember the +396 str gloves I found those off a legit drop they glitches somehow and I duped chit out of them all on ladder. I meet some big dupers/ stores that wanted my str gloves and I got over well before I released any with them first. Miss those days was lots of fun. Most of the duping items involved multiple PCs or a software back then you could open like 8 diablo windows if you had CD keys and a good PC. You would lag out a room several different ways with player 1. When the fps hit a certain point the game might drop. Simultaneously on other PC ur also logged in on player one. Same player and you would join a 2nd game. When kinda confusing but basically you could never log two of the same players in different games. But if first player lags the fps by help of friends etc their were many ways of duping. The sever thought game 1 dropped from lag. And same player but number 2 logs into another room. 2 players 2 different rooms. 2nd player in second room would drop everything inventory stash what your wearing. A friend or u on other PC mule pick it all up. First room stops lagging the fps once player two enters second room. Player 2 drops everything off mule grabs, they leave room. Then first room as long as it didn't drop waits a bit. Then player 1 when they save and exit room everything was saved back to character. Many of the dupes were this way. You spoof the severs thinking u dropped from game but don't leave. And u log that same player on other PC into another room. Now you have double items of that player in two rooms. Drop off player 2 room to a mule it saves exits keeping items. And player one saves exits game one 5 mins later and you duped. I duped a lot of .08 stuff it had no item I'd. Meaning they were perm like some of the godly rare rings and amulets. Some dupers had software as did I but it was patched quick. Most methods were lag methods. There was also a glitch with act1 NPC dupe. My clan was AoT I was known as evil Scott. Fun times cheers y'all
I sold all my white rings just before 1.10 when they were removed for 30-40 sojs each, and walked away with stashes full of them. some of them were wiped as well but I came out of it better than the guys I traded with. then I ebbed up only playing ladder and they just sat until I stopped paying for a while and ended up expiring. if I still had those old characters is probably still play constantly instead of on resets.
There is more that no one mentioned, the bug helmet with 1.000 mf, I saw it on the 2000 there was just 1, a close friend of me owned at that time and finally sell it cos he said it didn’t work... I can say that saw it and is real.
A long time ago I had a set item become an entirely different item. Or something. I don't remember exactly but I do know that a previously existing character was converted to expansion after installing it, and I wound up with either Isenhart's Case or Parry as a heavy belt. Just from installing the expansion and updating the game.
I remember having all of these, and there was a 'bro science' method called "perming" your duped items to legitimize them, so to speak. You would open a trade screen, put the items up in the trade box, then leave the game immediately. You had to do this before leaving each server, or else risk your item disappearing. Of course, it was just a myth lol
It's not a myth. Some items had to be permed, but others did not. There were a lot more powerful weapons than ith, called quark or something like that, which had to be permed. You actually had to 'perm' the items or they really would disappear. Few people had them because they were extremely expensive (cost more than 40 hex charms) and there was great risk with having them. If you were the last person in the game and it was bugged, no one could join, the items were forfeit.
Cant' forget the 4 open socket bugged valor armor! Or the 6 open socket bugged windforce. Amazons running around with a 160/60 Bvalor and a 240/90 bugged windforce. That was right before 1.10 came out. Oh and havoc jewels.
man i got into diablo 2 LOD late around 2006 i played battle net a ton but i dont think i came accross ANY bugged items. cant beleive so many people in the comments were apart of it i feel left out!
Ahh those were the days. "Ith" items, 290 poison small charms, 45/15ias jewels and cramming into all the PK1/1 Games in the game list. Old guilds like Ebay, NuB, EFAE, and Mafia duking it out on US East servers
Right now im using full vita lightning sorc with infinity merc using hoto, Coh, spirit, Shako, 2 nagelrings, arach, chanceguards. Inventory is Anni torch gheeds and small charms with mf. I guess u could go for more magic find, but that would harshly take down your FCR. With infinity 20k light damage or even less would be enough
another thing of "good old times" was uber tristram leveling, i have so many good memories fucking up the first few tries because no one of us actually understood who was the target for the monsters to spawn :D for gods sake i used to play softcore then.
My brother had a zon completely decked out. Quark bow, quark armor, buged 08 shako, ss, some crazy hacked javelins, 40x hex charms, wrings, AO ith swords etc. Mind you all this is only on west. East had it's own hacked items, the bugged 08 valors, bugged gaze helm with 2 open sockets, havoc jewels, etc
occy soj and the white ring... ith ofc as well.. but there have been a lot of bugged runics fury to just name one.. but i miss the quad damage weapons i saw them on the us realms having like 4 digits ed.. or 4open soxx or 2 open soxx arkains/harle
Chain wraith crafted bugged gloves. It added 1 skill point every time you pout it on and took it off. I use to own ppl with zero equipment on. The charge bolt would be so OP large it use to lag the server and would be able to kill with telekinesis. Lol good ole days. It was right before 1.0.9 when duping was rampant I traded 3 accounts full of stuff for it just to play with for about 2 months before the patch. The guy knew it was gonna be goner and I didn’t care ... totally worth it
i was just a 8year old kid back then but my older brother used to own some of these items and even more, i just owned everyone with those items and didnt even know what i was doing. great times.
I remember having a bugged helmet, when you take it off and put it on skills would stack. I used it on a paladin with holy shock. Killed everyone and everything in 1 shock.
Bugged Tals, and bugged belt was the only ones I actually saw. Some random even gave me the belt, but it poofed in a game one day due to the duplication check.
I just had a few tears. Made me miss my Hybrid Amazon.... Inventory full of Hex Charms + Wrings + Wgloves + ITH + ETH Stormshield + Perf ETH Tgods(and a close to perf Cruel/Masters Jabber wep...). The only thing that could stand a chance was another WHITEjabberzon... Oh the memories... RiP
I remember a trade for a p Pali torch and a few chams that got me a bis ring, shield, head and a ruby jewel of fervor. I was too young to actually know what stats were great, so I just went off of a guide, but I knew that jewel... well I exited the trade by accident and when we did the trade I was so excited I didn't look for that little gem and got robbed so hard... got bis p axes for ww Barb later in a free lobby tough, d2 was a roller coaster of emotions.
There was items kept very secret back then. Things not being sold or showed to get an advantage over everybody else both for PVP and PVM also items traded "underground" that also never was revealed to the open public.
My baba was a 40hexer and he used AO_ITH's Sword.... but right before everything went bye bye... I remember trying to get my hands on a quark_sword which was even better than what I had...... it went ITH -----> AO_ITH -------> Quark... so fun
I used to have full Hexing charms, 2 white rings, bugged visage, Bug WF with 6 sockets jewel, it was cheap in Singapore I think it was $40 for everything lol.
Dont forget the download "this" then end up dropping all your items and running into the top corner of town while I steal all your items. :] I had the godliest Items man this is giving me nostalgia... AoIth boooooiiii white rings buh buh bay bay
Buriza armor anyone...!? Remember "Nova Sorces" with wiz or occy rings, perf shako, ark 1.08? I can't even remember all the other gear, I just remember insane cast rates and blazing through hell cow runs with her. That was the most fun I ever had playing a game...haven't owned a gaming computer since I stopped playing D2 shortly after 1.10 was released and bnet cracked down hard. I just can't get that old feeling I used to get when I was younger and clawing to get to the top by whatever means necessary. Had several 915iths and a monster barb...the standard build for barbs could kill hell Meph in one or 2 WW's. Also, anyone remember an old bugged helmet that had gave MF based on character level? I remember trading for one, and it turned out that even though it showed like 500MF, it didnt actually calculate on the kill. and was just an expensive ornament.. Man, I could reminisce about D2 LOD all day...
I remember before the release of WoW there were some odd items. I recall my friend having a Sigon shield but it had some really weird mod “stats double at night” or something like that. Don’t recall if anything happened if the game went to a night mode.
occy rings, 290 small charms, 1.08 ww on 1.09 patch, wiz rings, whites and ith bows were all the ones i remember. on open servers theres this fucking jewel with max stats +50 skills max resist increase and every other stat there is. the list for the jewel is so long it doesn't fit in the screen that d2 runs on
lmao I had an amazon on US West with a 1.08 shako, an inventory full of +90 stat small charms, and the white ogre gauntlets. I think she had like 30,000 HP.
Yes, anyone can hex edit data in memory, run Hero Editor on savefiles, or even mod their game client - create/edit any items desired! But then how to get them into the Blizzard Realms? All (patch 1.10+) items must pass authentication with the item reference copies generated and stored server-side - if they don't match, they're not on the list, or their IDs already exist elsewhere then they poof. Checks made often, at least every time you enter a new act or exit a game. So the only bugged items still found in Blizzard Realms these days are "legacy" (pre-1.10) Off Ladder items and/or "unperm" (dupes which will poof in normal conditions) current-patch Ladder items. The owners like to call these things "legit" only because they've somehow survived repeated Blizzard "ruststorm" and "warden" purges. Yet fewer of these obnoxious cheating things exist online every year, and good riddance.

I've personaly had a Bug Belt. Other than that I've seen bugged Tal armor, "Ice" bow with "Faith" stats added, and many others Rares that seemed bugged to me (not fools, but 5k def armor? C'mon).
Yes!!!! so I had a sword.. for my baba.. it was ITH Sword... then I got an AO_ITH sword.. and before everything went bye bye I remember trying to get my hands on a quark sword (like the bow)
Man...the ones I remember the most were those goddamned white items. They damn near ruined the game. Like Xtimus said, the trade channels were overflowed with that crap. You could just about see the daily drop in players on bnet because of them. That next patch eliminated the problem...
the value of a perm btals is thousands of dollars now. difficult to trade cuz there's hardly any trustworthiness when it comes to these sorts of items.
ANYONE remembers the "bugged crown" ??? i can't find it anywhere. it was a crown that when you were wearing it, You then pressed "w" to switch weapons, and you spammed "w".... and each time you switched your weapons it gave you +1 to skills. exemple : i wore the crown, pressed 100 times "w" (switching weapon) and then i had all my skills at 100++++ in my skills tree.
Can't remember the exact name of the ring, Raven Frost maybe? It was the rare ring with high life/mana leech... I remember seeing and having those everywhere.
zephyr bow, 10 all skill annis, 70mana15life scs, white jwlz, 08 valks and 07 bugd eth valks, eth 2socket tyrael might, i had tons of bugs, sadly including all perf hybrid runewords my accounts got wiped.
Raven Spiral and not one, but two Imp Shank boots exist still on East; there's also the famous Imp Shank on West, and Raven Spiral, being a hacked+Duped ring, exists on West realm as well.
I played 1.09 on closed B.net for quite a while and I didn't came along any of these, expect the white ring once. But in the open Battle.net I came along some very intense stuff. I even created the most crazy one by my self. One day I just made an regular cheated item to combat other cheaters in a cheating league. But I must have missed something, because one of my items didn't got magical attributes, under its name, damage and duration, but NPC dialogue fragments instead ..
Oh my god i remember having 2x construction rings!!! And the ith weapons... god damn the memories I forgot about the white rings too... god those were crazy
"TheGreat_Quark's cruel matriarchal bow of amplify damage". 95%ias and something over 1000% enhanced damage. The thing was absurd. I also remember seeing an ith colossus blade with 6 ohms in it. Ahaha.
If you play the video at 1.5x he speaks at normal speed.
I'd say 1.25 is preferable, but 1.5 is still definitely a solid option.
What a douchebag thing to say. This RUclipsr does great IMO even if he doesn’t talk at Ben Shapiro speeds.
@@jam206AR It was a f joke chill, ofc the content is good.

@Stéphane Mallette i cant speak of 1.09 because i quit after 1.08 but those were some really fun times.

hands down.... we'd have like 40hex only fights... everyone had probably 100k life, bunch of life leech, etc..... intense and lasted forever
What about the 290 poison small charms? Do you guys remember it? It was like a currency back in the day.
yep, 290s. seeing some of these items and abbreviations brings back memories from trade spam
Marco Sousa if you had 290 u are weak, get on my level 419 psn small charms
I still remember using 419 psn charms on my Fury Druid as a way to combat physical immunes when I couldn't afford Infinity, m8, those were the days.

These are legit charms, not bugged/hacked.

Corruption rift rare small charm and (ultra) nagel ring.. more stats .. also a magic charm adding 1k defence.. back in 1.09.. these were posible drops
They were used for crafting amus and gloves
those were for crafting i belirve
Yea used to roll for ccbqs with 3 socs long ago
Yeah, for crafting bugged items ;)
Fun times cheers y'all
Man, I miss those Diablo 2 days. I've used to play East Classic and there were some LOD items in there. Nowadays I've never found an image of it.
one of the coolest bugged items I found when I used to play back in the day was the buri (bow?) in an armour or, the bugged mf helmet
I'd like to mention the Sensei's Circlet. Which made its user immune to cold and absorbed it. Very annoying when dueling.
There is more that no one mentioned, the bug helmet with 1.000 mf, I saw it on the 2000 there was just 1, a close friend of me owned at that time and finally sell it cos he said it didn’t work... I can say that saw it and is real.
I used to own a lot of them and i thought too that they didnt work.
A long time ago I had a set item become an entirely different item. Or something. I don't remember exactly but I do know that a previously existing character was converted to expansion after installing it, and I wound up with either Isenhart's Case or Parry as a heavy belt. Just from installing the expansion and updating the game.
Congrats on 1k subs!!! Keep D2 Conent coming :)!
the bugged item I saw is mercs armor I think : D
damn, my childhood. There were all on Bnet at one point? I feel like i remember a lot of these.
I don't remember those 6 socket items. Yo danger btw I changed my twitch to "Xtimus"
.08 Bugged Valors, Bugged ali baba with 100% lightning absorbs, Wiz gloves, bugged COA and .08 items that made it through a few patches.
ohh my i miss .08 bugged valor so much
man i got into diablo 2 LOD late around 2006 i played battle net a ton but i dont think i came accross ANY bugged items. cant beleive so many people in the comments were apart of it i feel left out!
Ahh those were the days. "Ith" items, 290 poison small charms, 45/15ias jewels and cramming into all the PK1/1 Games in the game list. Old guilds like Ebay, NuB, EFAE, and Mafia duking it out on US East servers
Bugged items that i loved were quarks armor quarks bow imp shank boots 3 socketed occuals Armageddon fletch amulets wizard spiked gloves Helm: Cold Absorb Circlet
Amulet: 64% Lifeleech
Amulet: Armageddon Fletch (sorc skills 20% fcr)

Ith ThunderMaul
Small Charm: 4 max damage

I Think AO_ITH Colossus Blade was the best before Quark Sword came around
the hex editor was used to make the white ring. along with full white armor sets and every color of the rainbow.
Xtimus what is the best Mf sorc build in your opinion?
Loving the vids. Subscribed :D
+Ulrik Biceps Thank you for the reply :)
another thing of "good old times" was uber tristram leveling, i have so many good memories fucking up the first few tries because no one of us actually understood who was the target for the monsters to spawn :D for gods sake i used to play softcore then.
The guy knew it was gonna be goner and I didn’t care ... totally worth it
i remember having a white ring back in the day
i was just a 8year old kid back then but my older brother used to own some of these items and even more, i just owned everyone with those items and didnt even know what i was doing. great times.
The occy ring on east had FBR not cast, there is a cold absorb circlet and the bugged eye of eltich which would make a llc invincible.
I was too young to actually know what stats were great, so I just went off of a guide, but I knew that jewel... well I exited the trade by accident and when we did the trade I was so excited I didn't look for that little gem and got robbed so hard... got bis p axes for ww Barb later in a free lobby tough, d2 was a roller coaster of emotions.
.9 and .10 the glory days. I was part of Clan Cruel on the east server's.
Hex small charms... dont miss those, but I did miss the wizardspike gauntlets with the foh stick. Made pvp too easy though.
meanwhile in Diablo 3 , Struggling to get my critical hit chance on an item from 5% to 6% rofl
Playing over 12 hours a day trying to get as much Hex charms as possible back in the days. Golden times.
What about xfactor armor? Also what about .08 items such as Shako, Valk Helm?
Wizard Spike gloves and occu rings were my favourite back in late .08/.09
man the only buged i have see in the list are ITh runeword and the btal, the occy rings is OP as hell compare to those items lol
There was items kept very secret back then. Things not being sold or showed to get an advantage over everybody else both for PVP and PVM also items traded "underground" that also never was revealed to the open public.
My baba was a 40hexer and he used AO_ITH's Sword.... but right before everything went bye bye... I remember trying to get my hands on a quark_sword which was even better than what I had...... it went ITH -----> AO_ITH -------> Quark... so fun
only me remember the 4 socks archaine armor, bugged shaco, bugger gaze, bugged stormshield? :S
I still have a Undead Crown Ring on US East non-ladder of course
Congrats on 1k subs! Looking forward to more DII content
I used to have full Hexing charms, 2 white rings, bugged visage, Bug WF with 6 sockets jewel, it was cheap in Singapore I think it was $40 for everything lol.
Everything about this game makes me so melancholic
I love your channel, thank you for your content
I remember when meteor was spamable.
I remember before the release of WoW there were some odd items. I recall my friend having a Sigon shield but it had some really weird mod “stats double at night” or something like that. Don’t recall if anything happened if the game went to a night mode.
Haha my buddy had one of those constriction rings.. he stayed up all week trying to get to lvl 95 just to use it. It was really good lol.
occy rings, 290 small charms, 1.08 ww on 1.09 patch, wiz rings, whites and ith bows were all the ones i remember. on open servers theres this fucking jewel with max stats +50 skills max resist increase and every other stat there is. the list for the jewel is so long it doesn't fit in the screen that d2 runs on
I remember Armageddon Fletch.
lmao I had an amazon on US West with a 1.08 shako, an inventory full of +90 stat small charms, and the white ogre gauntlets. I think she had like 30,000 HP.
I totally remember the time of the "white ring" super fast run speed and frost orb sorcs couldnt do any damage to you lol. Good times
I remember windforce stats on something but can't remember what it was. Also an amulet that gave insane stats and bonus.
Way to pick the most popular 5 bugged items, that NO ONE forgot about.
Hex edit on a character. That's how you'd create it.

@@richard3621 my clan was llBLACKDRAGONll
the only guy that came close to contesting with my pk characters was this guy with account named Mugaf. but he was always 1 tier below me.
Anyone remember Kings jewels?
I still have seen a bugged tal rasha armor like 2-3 years ago, so people still have it! But haven't seen any of the other items ever
Mainly I remember "White Rings" that had fire, ice and electric absorb.
bugbelt and snatchii gloves still exist in europe non-ladder :)
I've personaly had a Bug Belt. Other than that I've seen bugged Tal armor, "Ice" bow with "Faith" stats added, and many others Rares that seemed bugged to me (not fools, but 5k def armor? C'mon).
Nothing is more satisfying then when diablo joined your game and dropped a perfect annihilus, perfect exp at leased
what about stuff like the quark bow, its stronger than ith bow if I remember correctly. there was also something called the strength glove
Yes!!!! so I had a sword.. for my baba.. it was ITH Sword... then I got an AO_ITH sword.. and before everything went bye bye I remember trying to get my hands on a quark sword (like the bow)
Man...the ones I remember the most were those goddamned white items. They damn near ruined the game. Like Xtimus said, the trade channels were overflowed with that crap. You could just about see the daily drop in players on bnet because of them. That next patch eliminated the problem...
You forgot about the barb sword. I don't remember the exact engraved named, except it started with "AO_"
That was the best time to be playing diablo 2.
Those hexes were the shit. With some eth titans straight snappin
i miss the bugged soj that gives Negative skills. With it, you can bug your skill levels to infinity.
the value of a perm btals is thousands of dollars now. difficult to trade cuz there's hardly any trustworthiness when it comes to these sorts of items.
I remember when dupeswap came out. I went into a game and there had like 20 windforces on the floor. At the time these were worth 40 sojs
RIP glitched lightsaber. The Great Rust Storm took you too soon.
what about the old bugged jewels that added to skills? or there was this bow i forget what it was called.
Can't remember the exact name of the ring, Raven Frost maybe? It was the rare ring with high life/mana leech... I remember seeing and having those everywhere.
should be the raven spiral
zephyr bow, 10 all skill annis, 70mana15life scs, white jwlz, 08 valks and 07 bugd eth valks, eth 2socket tyrael might, i had tons of bugs, sadly including all perf hybrid runewords my accounts got wiped.
You don't make ith items with the cube. It's actually by selling items from the trade buffer to the shop and buying them back afterwards.
Don't forget about the raven spiral ring and the imp shank boots =D
Raven Spiral and not one, but two Imp Shank boots exist still on East; there's also the famous Imp Shank on West, and Raven Spiral, being a hacked+Duped ring, exists on West realm as well.
Oh god. Imp Shank. GG
I remember a ring this guy dropped, and I picked up, once I put it on my character turned into a "Fallen" and I couldn't take it off or leave town.
LMFAO! ahahahaha
The occy ring was made by accident then duped from the original. I sold it to a website I bought stuff off of.
Oh my god i remember having 2x construction rings!!! And the ith weapons... god damn the memories
I forgot about the white rings too... god those were crazy
"TheGreat_Quark's cruel matriarchal bow of amplify damage". 95%ias and something over 1000% enhanced damage. The thing was absurd. I also remember seeing an ith colossus blade with 6 ohms in it. Ahaha.
I remember haveing myself a 7%mf per lvl Round Helmet, which I used on my MF-Sorc during patch 1.09. +16 to all Skills with full res and 1300% Mf.
