I think Dan could pick up the cheapest guitar with the worst set up going and still rock the house down ! I have to say that I always hit the like button before I even watch the video and you guys never disappoint ! I was happy to see that FF made things right for you Leo . Good companies should always stand behind their product . Well, until the next one guys , keep on rockin in the free world !
I'm happy to see this very honest review. I'm on my fifth FF guitar now. (The yellow SG you have seen. It is the most remarkable so far). However, I am hearing & seeing more and more about the quality being all over the place. The fear of not getting a good one has made me stop buying Firefly guitars for a while. And why the parts they use are also all over the place baffles me. (Same guitars with different pots and wiring & Different fret work?). I have reached out to FF numerous times, and they have never once responded to my emails. Don't get me wrong I love the ones I have, but I consider myself very lucky. Until they up their customer service game I am done with FF on my channel for a while. Thank you, Leo & Dan, for all of your real honest reviews. I appreciate you guys!
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments. I'll still be purchasing Firefly guitars because after purchasing an FF-335, two FF-TH Thinlines, two FF-338s an FF-DCD, two FFLPS's and this FFLG this is the only one I have ever had any issue with at all. I have contacted customer service on one other occasion and that was to exchange a different FFLG for this one because I wanted the Burl Burst. I think it's a risk I'm willing to take. Thanks again pardner for your kind words 😉 👍!
Who do you think is Firefly's biggest competition in the affordable market? Eart? Rondo? Indio? IYV? LyxPro? Mitchell? Or the old guard, Squier, Ibanez, Yamaha, etc?
Quite an impressive looking guitar! It certainly is a fine edition to your already incredible collection!🎸🎶😎 Happy weekend to you guys! Very nice jamming there at the end, Dan!
Thanks very much for watching as always Jake and for your kind comments. I really enjoyed your last video, with the exchange of opinions between you and your alter ego, I'll bet the editing was a bit of a nightmare 😉 👍!
Thanks very much for watching Minty, yes I agree. It is absolutely amazing how many Burl guitars I have purchased lately. I think Burl gives me an erection 😳👍!
Oh, it'll look pretty good on the wall - and with upgrades of the PUs and maybe the bridge and a proper setup the other one can be an eye and ear-catching thing - hope you let us hear the difference 😄
Mine is the "Lizard Burst" green. I can hear that they used the same tone caps in yours, as the attack is mellow. It took me a month to get mine to where I could use it live. Swapped out the pickups with old Ibanez ceramics to give it more gusto. I like the weight and the shape, but it had a million little issues. Setup was repeated about ten times before it stayed put. But Dan makes 'em all sing like canaries. Leo is fun, love his commentary.
Thanks for watching Pipecat as always and for your kind comments. I'm glad we didn't have too many issues. I'm supposed to receive the new one tomorrow and Dan told me if I give him another guitar he's going to shoot me. 🔫 pew pew! So I guess I'll have two 🤪 👍!
Thanks very much for watching and for your very kind words, I suppose they are possibly made in different factories but I don't really know. You're amazing too 😉👍!
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments. I was amassing a "Burl guitar collection " and I just love the Burl, but it's not for everybody 😎👍!
I think they are OK, but Dan had just finished playing the Michael Kelly and his opinion was tainted. Thanks for watching and for your kind comments. Lol 😉
I didn't used to either, but I don't consider body shape anymore. I'm just trying to keep new guitars available for our videos. Thanks again as always 😉👍!
Thanks very much for watching Tony and for your kind comments. I don't know why, but it didn't appear in my feed. I just happened to be in RUclips Studio and saw this unanswered comment 😉👍!
great review as always brother! hekk if dano dont want it ill take it lol! im behind on vids on my other channel because a very special job came to me from a friend... i modded out his ibanez hss strat clone and its saweeet now! 21 tones!!
Hey guys, great job as usual. Dan, the guitar sounds unplayable. While it certainly is a gorgeous example, it's obvious that it needs some serious TLC. Have fun and keep it live!!
Thanks very much for watching and for your kind comments, if you watch the follow up video on this guitar it was replaced by guitarsgarden.com and Leo fixed this one, and installed Epiphone Probucker pickups into the replacement as well 😉👍!
I don't understand. At first you said there were "surface cracks in the poly of the neck." But you wrote Guitars Garden that the guitar was "broken." They said it was cracks in the finish. Well, which was it ... cracks in the wood of the neck or merely cracks in the finish? Sometimes finish cracks will look like wood cracks. It would be possible that the added tension on the neck was enough to cause finish cracks but not result in the cracks to the underlying wood. Again your initial comment did not say cracks in the wood but cracks in the poly finish only.
Thanks for watching and for your kind question. It seems to me that the neck is cracked. In the photos yes it does look like cracks in the finish, but now those cracks have grown and at least one is from binding to binding. I didn't break the guitar by adjusting the truss rod if that is your implication. Truss rods are meant to be adjustable and they supply you with a wrench to adjust them with almost every guitar without instructions on how to do it. In any case, surface cracks are still unacceptable to me in a guitar that I just opened and I purchase four guitars per month for review and I expect to get what I paid for. If cracks in your brand new guitar are acceptable to you, then you and I have different points of view 😉 👍!
@@leodanryan966 I never meant to imply that you broke the guitar. I agree surface cracks are definitely unacceptable and I never said they were. I just wanted a clarification of whether you think they are wood cracks or finish cracks, that's all. I have your answer.
@@louisfryzel4618 Thanks for watching and sorry for seeming a bit testy. It is the limitation of having a conversation via text. No worries, even if you had implied that you are welcome to your opinion 😉 👍!
Thanks for watching and for your kind comments, I'm sorry you're having trouble hearing. I record everything on my phone. It's a Samsung Galaxy S21. It's got stereo mics, but there's no way to attach a microphone to it because it's got no jack for one. I have used wireless mics in the past and lost my audio for the entire session. Dan is quite busy so I don't have any options to re-record an entire session. I don't know why you are having trouble I can hear Dan quite well actually.
Great video, Brothers. Purty geetar but you could see even a skilled musician like Dan having a tiny bit of trouble getting comfortable with the Action on this FF. Enjoy your back and forth to each other and am a big fan of both of you. Really enjoy Dan’s playing as well. Did you tweak the Truss Rod and then dial in the bridge to adjust the Action? Look forward to your next video Fellas. Stay well, Partners!👍 PS-I hear your audio fine on my IPhone & Laptop.
@@dennismullin3052 The bridge was already adjusted as low as it could go. It just had too much relief in the truss rod. I used a notched straight edge to check it and adjusted it to about 1000th of an inch of relief. It was about 3/8 of a turn out. Thanks again 😉 👍!
