Great video Sir......HNY 2022 to you That guitar seems solid as a rock Right. Beautiful quality instrument...........perfect as you state. Firefly seems to be Roaring along with several new & interesting MODELS released. i hope you are really happy with the guitar. It seems excellent quality and value. Thx Vin.
They got the two models I wanted back in stock. the green one with P-90 pick ups, and the three pick up custom. I double checked my e-mail today, and it seems like all systems are go. ow I just play the waiting game...
I got mine but it came with the two-tone humbuckers instead of the chrome which I did not want I wanted the chrome .. Dialed it in minutes ,it’s great playing guitar once I took those strings off which Feel like 10’s and by the way your mixes sound amazing what stuff do you use?
Hey I love the music you played. Great stuff. I got a couple of questions. I plan on getting the Malibu Sunset Color one. But on this guitar, can I put some PAF style or burstbucker or classic 57 pickups? I play a lot of classic rock, i.e., AC/DC, Zeppelin, Beatles, CCR. Green Day and so on. In addition, do you think I should replace the pots and caps and put some orange drops on the electronics? Sorry for the many questions. Thank you for posting this.
Good review. Great to see the tear down on this. Would have liked to have seen the pickup resistance measurements but nice to see the tenon length. The pickups may be wax potted but they’re still microphonic. At least they are on mine. P.S. the stripper music when taking off the plastic 😆😂😂
What bridges do you usually use? Gotoh is usually my go-to, and if I keep my FFLG I'll need a better bridge. On my guitar, the fret ends were well finished, but I had to glue down 1 fret and the frets were so uneven that I had to level and recrown. Overall though, I'm warming up to it.
@@TheTapeFarm the Gotoh are outstanding quality. They're made in Japan. I have one on my Hamer Special and one on an imported LP copy. They're only about $20 at Phillidelphia Luthier Supply.
I’ve heard rumors that there might be more released sometime in November. But check out the Firefly Guitar Fans page on Facebook. That’s usually where I get my info from.
Wow... Not only did I also do a recent ("meh") review on this FFLG, but I also have trigger finger and was wondering whether surgery was effective! You left out "diabetics.", and that's me. Good share! Thanks.
RE: Facebook "Firefly Guitar Fans" Group is either dead or restricted. "This content isn't available right now When this happens, it's usually because the owner only shared it with a small group of people, changed who can see it or it's been deleted." BUMMER!
I just purchased one in Sept., my question is with the 3 way switch in the middle position I can have one pickup turned to 0 and increase volume on the other pu and it plays, is this normal for a SG style guitar ? unlike my FF338 it will not play unless there is volume turn up on both pu's. Thanks in Advance
You forgot Scallop Fishermen, and we called that exclusive little inconvenience "The Grip", and it didn't just afflict one finger, oh no sir, it did all 4 and your thumb too...would get so bad you had to sleep with your Shucking Knife or else you could NOT open your hand from a fist, hence "The Grip"...
I have had them shipped to a parcel service across the border. Usually I could drive and bring over, but since only the US south border is currently open, I had a local service pick it up and bring it across. Of course that added to the cost.
It's all well and good to review guitars and all but since you can't get this one anywhere except on Ebay (for 2 to 3 times the price) I think it's probably a mute point! If I can't get one then what is the point!
Yeah, Firefly guitars sell out FAST! One has to jump on the opportunity and get while the getting is good. I had to wait quite a while for the models I wanted to be restocked, but they have been, and placed my order yesterday. I would highly advise you to go to their website now, and buy the model you want if it is in stock. It might take a while to restock if they've sold out, but they WILL restock. just be patient and check the website every day, and once you see the model you want back in stock, but it then and there. DON'T go to e-bay, reverb, or other sites where the seller will jack up the price, unless you really want one that bad, can't wait for the company to restock, and you can afford it. Just be patient. It will take a while but they WILL restock.
Great video! I reviewed the Lizardburst and absolutely love it! Here's mine: ruclips.net/video/fpPYVI1bQxA/видео.html Can't wait to mod the living daylights out of it 🤣
WOW! I was not expecting that guitar to sound that good. Great video.
Firefly have really upped their game since I got my 338 about 4 years ago

I almost always install locking tuners so I typically start with new strings. My FFLG in Lizard burst is on it's way. :D
That is one of the best looking guitars by any manufacturer I've seen
Yeah she’s a looker. All the other guitars talk about her behind her back.
Nice! Thanks! Good luck with the hand!

I love the color. I have the red/black one. It is really an awesome guitar. The only thing that I need to change is the jack; it is a bit tight.

Few things in life more satisfying than removing plastic film off guitars… that’s when you know it’s yours.
BLACK SG for PRESIDENT of All
🤘
Wish I had known there were available before they were all gone.

I usually get a bridge from guitarfetish.com. They’re about $15 and they’re really good. I was thinking about trying a Gotoh or a Wilkinson this time.

Can't find any on guitar garden website, says no products. I would think it would say out of stock. Can find some on eBay at a jacked up price

Surgery has worked every time. I tried the shots but they only last a few months at best.
I ordered the goldtopW/black plastics from Firefly.Im hoping they are as good or better than IVY...
Did you play it out the box? What strings are you using? Also what amp?
Pretty sure those were the stock string. If not they were do you D’addario XL 09’s. Pretty sure I used an amp sim, probably the Overloud TH-U plug in.
It’s a looker for sure. Seems kind of thick for an SG type.
It may be a bit.. but it’s still way thinner (maybe half to 2/3) than an LP.
No description of the neck profile.
No demo of neck and "both" pickups, either clean or dirty.
Think I'll stick with my two Gibson SG's.
How do you ebonize pale fingerboards? What is your process?
Ahh, just saw the video in you description...Duh...thanks
Dimarzio double creams would look killer!
I wish they made a couple more left handed....😕
Is this 24.75 scale?
Yes

Wish they would stop putting outputjack on the front
That’s where they are in Gibsons.

Yes. That’s how I use it, like a kill switch.

Yeah… anyone who works with the hand. My Dad was a clammer when I was a kid on Long Island.
Is that color of guitar called honey burst?
Yes. At least that what it was called when I got mine.
What a beauty, what is the weight like, heavy ?
Not really. I’d say in the lower 7 pound range. Was just playing it about 20 minutes ago. Since the review I’ve removed the covers on the pickups.
@@TheTapeFarm 👍 Good to hear, it's a real beauty. I'll be looking out for one. Thanks' for the video.
Nice video but it comes across as an advertisement, did GG give you the guitar?
Nope. I buy any product I review. No one has any say in the content other than me.
Where did you get it
Guitarsgarden.com
I tried buying this guitar garden refuses to ship to canada
Booooo… Canada deserves better!

BRILLIANT!
Yes my lp was over 300 to my door.
Hey my post made it into the facebook group scroll :-)
🤣

They will be available again at some point. So if your interested the review hopefully would help you decide if waiting is worth it to you.
FFLG's are up on guitars garden right now. I bought a blackred one last night, good thing because those must have sold out already.

Trigger finger - from my understand a issue being a descendant of the Vikings.
Huh… mostly welsh… but the Norse made it Wales back in ye olden days so very possible.
Mahogany body?😮😮
Yes, with a maple veneer on top. Two piece body, with a mahogany veneer on the back to make it appear as a single piece.

Yup… they’re like ripe avocados… they don’t last long.
