I'm 3 years in with left sided weakness. I contemplated suicide big time but my dog kept me going I couldn't leave him. I was super depressed and angry for the first two years. There's no help or support in my country. If u haven't got the big dollars ur pretty much screwed. It's a death sentence here. But I've persevered since found my passion for cooking again. Restarted my business again and I push super hard. Did a cake decorating class recently. This took me out of my comfort zone and let me meet and work with new ppl even though I wasn't very comfortable I did it for the betterment of me. Now I'm killing it for this Christmas season🎉 . I hardly went out before now I barely leave home u less I NEED to. Ppl aren't fun to be around I rather spend my days with my dog. ❤ . Elyse has been my rock since I found this channel. Greatly appreciative ❤❤❤

This is a really great video. I struggled so much with depression and anxiety after my stroke. The facility had a counselor come talk to me about twice a week while I was there. She really helped me on the path to making peace with what happened. I tell people that I’ve been healed as much emotionally and mentally as I’ve been healed physically from my stroke. The fear of having another stroke is overwhelming and scary as hell. I just finally got to the point where I understood it could happen, but worrying about it. All the time was keeping me from enjoying the life I did have. When I first had my stroke, I was so angry that I had lived. I didn’t want to live a life in that condition but I had a lot of people praying for me and I prayed for me a lot too. I’m so grateful now that I lived, and I think I am thriving. I still talk to counselor once a week and it’s been almost 3 years now since I had my stroke. I’m not proud of the anxiety and depression, but I am proud that I’m working through it every day.

I’m so sorry to hear about your wife. Strokes are indeed cruel. I actually made a video about dealing with PBA but the tips may be hard for her to follow with the aphasia she experiences. I’d recommend reaching out to her neurologist if she sees one. They should be able to give more specific and individualized recommendations ❤️ I wish you both be the best and hope you can still find some of my videos helpful!

Wow, this is a great topic. I know people dont really like to talk about Faith, but what better way than talking to your Creator, God. Not everyone believes in Christ, but he is the driving force for healing.. This practice with God has help me alot. I hope this helps you like it did me. Peace & Blessings to everyone.

I’m so sorry. Have you tried reaching out to a therapist or psychologist who can help you develop an individualized plan?
