Scream this from the mountain top! Social media is not guaranteed results. Meeting people face to face has a much higher rate of success.

My take-away: I wish this video really did what its title says. ☹️ I'm no closer to getting my first coaching client than when I was before I watched. The information is good and probably helpful to someone with a few clients already.
I enjoy your videos. I've been subbed for a while. I'll keep watching for something to help me where I am. Thank you for all of your work. 🙂

We're sad you feel that way, Donna! These steps are for any new business coach. If they aren't helping you, then it's highly likely you are stuck at one of these steps or something else that is not allowing you to move forward. We recommend identifying what exactly is holding you back so you can address that first. Thanks for sharing :)

@@mindvalleycoach Thank you for your reply. However, let me say it again. I watched your video to learn how to get my first coaching client. What I received was a lot of "high-level" concepts about building a client base. What I wanted was a list of actionable steps (and not to be insulted for providing the feedback you requested 🤨). I was particularly interested in your video because I don't want to build a business from social media.
What I'd like to see is a video where you share how you REALLY got your first client. You had a great idea for them. You had a different approach to solve the problem. How did you get in front of the right people/person (the one who could green-light you) to present your solution? How long from that presentation to the them signing the contract with you? What did you learn from that first client? (because nothing goes perfectly no matter how much you plan ahead) These are the things I would like to know about in regards to a coaching business.
Thank you again for sharing your content and encouraging others to "go for it"! 🙂

Problem to solve: Depends on your specific skillset or niche within coaching. For me it was leadership training and team productivity.
Differentiation: I inferred, strongly, that the leaders that were calling out the issues in their team were the leaders issues causing the issue.
How to get in front of the right people: If local, networking/events/find someone that knows someone in HR usually. I did it via online, befriended HR reps (L&D) to get a meeting.
Where that went next: Nowhere, stalled. Waited 2 weeks, followed up. Stalled. Waited another 2 weeks, got a call back from that rep who was "crazy busy". She wanted to move forward and suggested a meeting with her HOD. During my retrospective I asked her clearly, were you struggling to get this across the line, yes, she was hence the delay and avoidance behaviour. Classic.
What did I learn: EVERYTHING. My methodology was solid, my intention and understanding was solid, my listening to their pain was solid. Everything else needed cleanup/tweaking and optimisation, particularly in the process of defining the 'scope'. People you work with to get in are usually HIGHLY dis-engaged from the people you'll work with. Key learning ** Ask to spend time shadowing and getting in front of the people you're actually working with.. do it pro bono if needed, your 'product' will thank you.
Hope that helps a little, I know how frustrating it is! Also its a learning process so go in expecting pivot, change, rapid adaptation and mind-changing (on both sides). 😅

Wonderful! Love this opener: "What is the biggest reason why revenue isn't as growing as much as it could be?"

Great question! First and foremost, it's important to identify why you are scared to work with people. What is the real fear underneath it all? Once you identify that, you can take action towards it, face your fears, and start helping people through your work. We recommend watching this video to guide you: ruclips.net/video/ifSVPZbmv78/видео.html. We hope that helps!
