Command and Conquer, yes please. The Rover grows ever grander. The only problem you might get really late into the series is when your Rover gets so heavy it decides that terrain collision is a suggestion and falls through the ground, had that happen to me, wasnt fun lemme tell ya.
I have two suggestions for you on the rover. You can take them or leave them as you wish. You do you boo, I am watching either way. If you replace the vertical conveyers on the drill rig with fully extended pistons (Up Pistons), once you run out of piston extension on the drill (Down Pistons) you can then retract the up pistons to get more drill depth. 2nd is replacing the drill head with a single drill on a advananced rotor then attach another drill on either side of the first drill. Rotate as you drill and you will get almost the same drill coverage with three drills as you will with 9. You just have to match rotation of the drills with the piston extension so you don't crunch the drills.
The first suggestion is actually what I tried at first. I liked it but Magick suggested something simpler for newer viewers we'll probably 'upgrade' it later.
1) I just finished your suit only series and you bless us with a new SE series? Thank you for doing it. 2) That big MCV is definitely Not Fit for Small Roads
I gotta say.. after watcing so sooo much of these videos, I really do love the time lapse parts. It really shows, or rather shines, the perfection of LU's build ability and most importantly, his style. I recall noticing this back when he was building the large base with the "tons" of guns - way back. Thank you for another wonderful video! And shout out to Magick for the spicy pics in the beginning. Loving it.
Sooo!!! Even more naming suggestions just before i forget them: "The Yamcha" (as discussed last time^^) "The Space Maid" (as suggested last time^^) "The Vortigaunt" (for that giant ass arm sticking out of it's chest) "The Klepacki" (for all of your references of the MCV) and finally "The Weevil" for the way your drill will do it's thing. the idea about a conection between your starting vehicle and this one? How about just a small piston? it'll extend to grab and attach to the car and lift it so that it can hang from an indent in the bottom of the "MCV"? also: If you want to have a playthrough of ye olde C&C, i'd be COMPLETELY for it. Tiberian Sun was basically my introduction into rts and the music holds a very special place in my heart.
2 things for you!! 1: Name of Rover - The Big Rig, and 2: making a rotating deep drill would help get those hard to reach ores, like Kanajashi's Strip Mines but mobile. Also recommend making Yield mods on Large Refineries when possible, you can always make more power.
You can keep some wind turbines there. They will only work if you create a piston with landing gear and lock the rover to the ground. So you can use it to power the rover when stationary, to mine.
0:46 To build the large grid on a small grid u had to place the advanced rotor cut the head and then aim above the rotor and drop a large-large grid rotor part on top so it falls on top of the rotor, then u attach the head with build vision or on the control pannel. PS: i've done it multiple times and it still works
can't wait for the next ep, him turning on the drills, and running out of power in a sec :P you could build a kind of canopy with hinges and solarpanels, matching the cockpit, for a bit of extra power generation during the day (or remove the last row of glass, replace with solar panels, and a bunch more batteries. i know it's going to suck to do later, but i usually built my large storage 1 layer into the floor, and use the top of it as the next floor, this way you have a nice spacing, and wont get so top-heavy fast. same with the large refinery. also, if the drills clang out while passing through the floor-hole, you might want to replace the edges with another kind of block (cant remember the name at the moment, will edit comment later) its the slimmer ones, with the wierd edges. for the rover: down piston with a magplate/landing gear on it, then lift it up if you want to carry it, like some trucks have forklifts on the back. or a (foldable) ramp? anyway, good luck!
Time lapse suggestion: create in creative mode a blueprint of a small grid ship, add cameras, power it with nuclear and enough uranium to last a few hours of flight. Add an automated control method like the vanilla AI block or other script/mod that allows you to program a flight path while the camera remains locked to the work area. The camera could be a custom turret locked to a beacon, power source, etc. Go to creative mode, paste in the 'Fit for timelapsing' leave creative, get Magic in the seat, start the flight program, hit record. Now Magic has a timelapse video from a moving/rotating perspective. A bit like what can be done with Minecraft's replay mod. When done, back to creative for a bit to delete the grid, that way no 'cheated in' materials spoil the survival part of the series.
How about The Ottawa, it's in the same theme as the Canberra and Canada is like the bigger cousin of Australia. It most certainly nothing to do with it being built on a giant ice sheet. P.S. C&C or Red Alert playthrough sounds like a blast. Also amazing work on the editing as always Magick.
The large rover normally has the drills retracted, but when it stops moving it can extend them, becoming an easy target for gunfire. I recommend something with George and Kuato from Total Recall for the name. Maybe the G&K?
might be worth saying middle click while holding a block adds it to build planner and withdraws, i only learnt this from splitsie and ~400 hours ingame
Im sorry MR LU, you seem to have misunderstood the situation, you singed the contract for a full 2 sessions of 100 episodes. Your family will be remaining with us in the mean time
what you could have done is place a connector on the Large rover support strut ( near the Landing gear ) and one on the small rover and dock them together so you get the best of both worlds when it comes to power generation and storage while you build/mine.
you can use a piston with a landing gear on the side or the back to stabilise the rover when its mining and to transport the little rover up to the right high^^
When you named it the MCV I immediately thought of C&C, glad to see we were thinking about the same things here. I would be interested in seeing a C&C playthrough
If you use a custom turret controller for a rotor and have the control station for it on top of a platform on the rotor you can then add pistons and such to make a crane to lift the smaller rover onto the large one. Also could call the large rover the Horseshoe Crib since it has roughly the same outline as a horseshoe crab and its your base/crib
Thank once again for this masterpiece. Long live Kevin. If you use a med bay in creative mode. Than you can transform into a wolf. ( I believe this still works)

LU, let me be honest with you. You've made a 3x3 hole in the middle of a rover, with 3x3 drills hanging above with 3 pistons (which are one of the major causes of clangcidents in SE next to rotors and hinges) in close proximity of a large cargo container. I built and did test the same design and it worked... in space (just don't turn the drills on next to the cargo container), so it should function as is, but I'd make sure to use blast door blocks as the drill-hole-chassis-thingy in the middle and have the cargo container at least one block further from the drills... share inertia for the pistons and only have one working at a time with a speed of 0.1 m/s. I guess... that's all. Fingers Crossed that the next ep won't start with a bang. :'-D
Mandy call the MCV the “Providence” meaning either the protective care of nature or meaning the preparations for future events Or call it the “turtle”, cause it kind of looks like a turtle

i was [today] years old when i learned that you can hold X while in a wheel-based vehicle to make it jump a little holding X pulls the vehicle down and then when you let go of X it releases the suspension causing the vehicle to "jump"

Built mining drills on pistons, they don’t dig deep enough 😅 decided to download nano bots for mining and building. Set up an area to mine just below the level my wheels are on, tested it on ice, turned it on for 5 seconds and realised I had 20 million ice 🧊. Maybe I built too many. have the edges of the drill hole be blast doors, they have 0.98ish of a full block for their collision mesh space engineers hates when subgrids rub on each other(especially since all four sides are rubbing) also you cannnot add a large grid rotor head to a small grid rotor unless you drop it from the top and hit connect there are also a couple of things when driving: trees set the velocity of the subgrid to 0, so you can make a light bumper on a piston(so its a subgrid) and the tree will stop just the bumper, but your rover is so much more massive, you will lose little of speed by the same logic if you break suddenly the drills might bang on the sides, suggest to add a landing gear to stow them away
