The French actually have this concept - the voiture sans permis. They are intended for teenagers and the elderly, and folk in rural areas, and you don't require a licence to drive one. The cars are limited in speed (28mph). But of course they were incredibly popular with anyone who had been banned for drink driving.

I believe the Changli got the same thing in it.
Fun fact: Most Chinese automakers don't like these small electric cars because they don't require licenses to drive cause theyre so slow, they're really cheap so anyone can afford one and that makes them eat into actual car market shares. I had a little Zap Xebra some years ago (bought new), and it was a lot of fun as a new car. However, before the first year was out, the batteries went from poor to awful, and I couldn't justify replacing them that often (both due to the expense and environmental impacts). I passed it off to someone else, and they replaced the batteries but also stopped using it. Then to a third person, and I didn't hear any rave reviews from them. In short, these cars are fun in the beginning and then become albatrosses around the neck, at least in my experience. As at least one other commenter said, yes, turn off anything else drawing from the batteries while you're driving. They're mostly bells and whistles anyway.
I hope the CarsAndCameras guys get one of these, remove all that electric motor crap and install one of them beefy gokart engines they put together to have this car roll at a more decent power and speed

After watching this and the previous video, my recommendations immediately filled with videos of an extremely similar looking car being shown off by a Chinese dude
46 was the correct speed but you have to take into account that the display was giving you the speed in km/hr instead of miles per hour. 46 km/hr is about 28 miles per hour. Also, you should probably buy some RainX to take care of the window fogging.
It probably literally is a ford steering wheel, it's well known that China rips off other companies designs and uses the slave labor they have to produce them.
The Ford Transit steering wheel (and much of the rest of the Transit) is probably made in China. I used to deliver auto parts and always liked to look on the packaging to see where the part was made. We handled only original equipment GM, Ford and Chrysler parts, no aftermarket or "foreign " car parts. It was extremely rare to see a part for an American car that was made in the USA. Most were made in China or Mexico, the rest could be from India, Brazil, Thailand, Slovenia, Croatia, Turkey, Serbia, South Korea, anyplace on earth where labor is cheap. Almost never from Japan and rarely from the US. So if you're driving an "American" (or European) car, just be aware that much of it is made elsewhere.
I bought a cheap quad for my daughter. At first, it was awesome. The first hour. After that, one-by-one the safety switches failed than other switches failed. All in one day. I replaced what I could and bypassed the rest and gave it away.
I’m guessing the steering is better than it was on those 3 wheeled vehicles I mentioned previously (it was described as ‘vague’ and that was being charitable). Those had a ‘delta’ configuration (one wheel in the front and two in the back); there’s a reason ATVs like that were banned in the US in 1986, they flipped way too easily.
It does look like one of those rocking kiddie rides in the mall though. Also why on earth does it have to look like an offroader. Has the suv craze gone this far?
I think the boxy appearance simplifies manufacturing and assembly. The roof rack works with the box, stylisticaly. That rack is probably not custom for this vehicle, it either came from elsewhere, or is actually a structural component and isn't meant to be removed.

Take my electric scooter for example, pull the full brake of the right handle and maximum the accelerator when the power is on, you'll unlock the speed limit and it will speed up to about 50km/h which is too fast in the city. I believe the Changli got the same thing in it.

I believe "老头乐" is a brand of ED medication.
So basically a glorified mobility scooter with a roof and a "fashion" sticker on the side.
What is the city speed limit in China? In Europe it's 50 kph.
Fun fact: Most Chinese automakers don't like these small electric cars because they don't require licenses to drive cause theyre so slow, they're really cheap so anyone can afford one and that makes them eat into actual car market shares.
There are actually some way cooler versions but they're a bit more expensive.
also it's quite dangerous driving them on road
@@shanshanli8099 They don't really drive fast enough to have any accidents and in China, most roads are really wide so they just share the shoulder with bikes and scooters. Obviously theyre not allowed on freeways. Those things on freeways will be like a bike rider on any main road.
Not a bad A to B commuter tbh. And cheap as hell to run too.
They're actually pretty unsafe and also easy to get rolled over. It's called "Loved of Old man" in China cause it is a good choice for old people who doesn't have a license. Metropolis don't allow these kinds of vehicle. They were used usually in some specific small town for old people picking their grand kids from school. The automakers actually doesn't care about these kinds of vehicle so much since these kinds of car are just substitute of automobile for those who doesn't own license or can't afford a real vehicle.

Maybe make it drive the front wheels with the rear still electric for some weirdo hybrid setup? Idk but the possibilities sound fun!
Anything over 20 and this thing'll flip when you steer in the slightest XD

@@thedarkknight1971 That would be like the original, post WorldWar 2 "Kaijadosha" Japanese "light vehicles". Originally growing out of a motorbike and sidecar with a 125cc engine, modified to be usable as what amounts to a very light truck/delivery vehicle for around-town purposes. Over the years the allowable cc ratings increased to like 350cc, then 500, then 550 then 650cc then 1,000cc etc. Hence those small Japanese cars with small motors (the earliest ones being 2-stroke engines using a pre-mixed fuel/oil mixture). Going slow might not be a bad thing in this thing. I'd love to have one but I live in a town with a lot of hills. Steep hills.
Yeah, the car is really cool. They should build one that could go 30-35 mph. Safety isn't as much an issue at those speeds because of the force laws. I'd love to have one of those!
@@Victor-tl4dk In China they don't even have to have a driving licence to use these, they are considered 'safe' by virtue of their speed. However they do go on public roads with proper cars.

Love your enthusiasm with this car.
This car was meant to be made for elderly people to go from home to grocery store or to hospital and back. So it has to be slow.
If I need to go to the hospital I want to get there before I die from old age. Slow and emergency are too words that just don't go together. I also want to be able to get home from the grocery before the ice cream melts and the whipped cream turns into sour cream, LOL!
They're mostly bells and whistles anyway.

that honestly looks kinda like a Ford Transit-y steering wheel.
Given that the logo is also an oval I bet you it's from the Ford parts bin, or a copy
When I googled it the first website to come up was ford lol

It must have race tuned suspension!

The speed meter is in Kilometers
