Ha, Tiesto removing your Adagio for String section is a bit rich considering a) Samuel Barber wrote it in 1936 and b) Tiesto pretty much lifted Ferry Corsten’s remix of William Orbit’s 1999 version.
Very nice presets! I tried to convert them to ANS and then renamed them to .an2 to be able to use them with my AN200. However some patches sound (very) different. Is there a way to use/convert them so they sound the same? I used AN1xEdit for this. Thanks!
Did you get copyright blocked for Adagio for strings... i would Challenge the block & sue if they don't relent.. If you'd sampled Tiesto, that's one thing, but he DOESN'T own the sounds that come out of YOUR synth. Nor does he own the rights to Eric Satie's music.. the original Composer... Punch them back!!
Man this is my Favorite synth of all time. Pair this with a Juno or Jupiter, perhaps a Korg of sort or System 8 and you have the Universe at your finger tips.
It seems the audio the audio was removed by RUclips for copyright breach on the Tiesto track because you were too spot on?? Got to take that as a compliment.
Okay, that Josh Wink demo was impressive. This thing can actually get some heavy high res sounds out of it. I would love to send it through a 303 style sequencer and use some high gain pedals to see what monster sounds I could get.
I got this synth when it first came on the market and thought it was great, but never used it after 1999. I added it back into my set up last year and it hasn't disappointed me yet. It's a great synth with low street cred compared to the Roland JP8000 and Acess Virus B and C, but it can definitely hold its own. I downloaded your patches and will try them out cheers!
Hi Hristo, I love your sound design. I've recently bought an AN1x, thanks so much for making your patches available :) I have 2 questions: Q1: I either use Senheiser HD599SE headphones, or my AV receiver & Speakers (home theater). I use the line outs to 3.5mm TRS plug (AUX input) for that. On both the headphones and speakers, the sound isn't as bright and clear as in YT demos of the AN1x. Almost as if it just needs a touch more treble or something. (my AV receiver has a few preset EQ room settings, but it doesn't make a difference) Do you slightly adjust the sound from the synth in post software? Q2: Apart from studying the manual, what would be the best way to learn sound design for the AN1x? (I have very basic understanding of subtractive synthesis) For example, how do you get a sine wave on the AN1x? I don't see it.
A1: I don't know why your sound is muddy, might be the speakers or might be the synth itself. A2: I've used the AN1x manual as only source to learn subtractive synthesis. The rest is practice. You choose a sound from a song and start editing an initialized patch or existing one that sounds close to what you want to achieve. Over time you'll begin to distinguish the parameters when you hear a certain sound.
Hristo, what a great demo! I am just cleaning my AN1x to sell it on the bulgarian OLX. Although it is a great synth I never really used it because I suck at music. I bought it to get interesting sounds for electronic music but I never produced a finished track, huh. The synth engine is really unique and you demonstrated it perfectly.
Здравейте! Случайно попаднах на коментара Ви тук, дали продадохте вече Вашата Yamaha AN1x, ако не, бих имал интерес да я закупя от Вас? Пишете ми да ми кажете, благодаря предварително! Поздрави!
@@TheFinalCutBG thanks, solved! now I have another problem; if I make a sound from scratch I can save it, but if I modify an existing sound, even if I type store and then y it doesn't save my changes! can you help me?
hOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!! por fin un demo que si vale la pena por fin un demo que no solo muestra puro piano POR FIN" GRACIAS CAPO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
hi Hristo. I built an analogue Synth in young years like a minimoog or Korg in the late 70´s early 80`s. All with patching cables full through the panel. It was a great experience but then came Rick Wakeman and I gave up, Brian Eno gave me the rest. Maybe i didnt understand to play these machines. Nowadays Im playing a little midi-keyboard and testing all the Vsts i can get but they are disappointing in fact of no free programming. DCO->Filter->DCA and some LFO thats no really SYNTH. I dreamt of a DX 7 that days but couldnt afford it. Maybe you know a suitable software that fits this manko ??? Ive got fruity loops and IK as DAWs but always find preprogrammed inserts. A synth should be OPEN configurable, like my old anlogue monophone one that i had to throw away in case of distress in living casualties. It had only 2 oscs a 16 and 24 db filter and 1 lfo but ringmodulator(very proud on that) I could make any sound from bells to rain and helicopter wind etc. By the way- i never found a Vst releasing true Squarewaves . Maybe you know any software producing these efforts ? I thought on flute-likes with a little wind like panflutes playing with my bass usin sonuus I2m. Its a bass to midi converter and it works great. Maybe you got an Idea. I thank you for your presence on youtube. And always: go on Sincerely
For conventional subtractive synthesis, you can try Massive. If you want FM synthesis like DX7 - go for the FM8 by Native Instruments. Keep in mind that FM synths are extremely difficult to program, so go for it, only if you know what you are doing.
Does the keyboard have a split mode where you can play two patches at once? Cause on some of these patches it seems like you’re playing a pad and an arp at the same time like with the Stranger Things theme. Cheers and thanks for this video!
Although they look similar, AN1x and CS1x are totally different synthesizers. AN1x uses subtractive synthesis, while CS1x uses wavetable synthesis. So there isn't any compatibility between them.

I know, right? :D
Probably the best sounding VA Synth. I had 4 of them :)
nice job.... the An1x is unbeaten... got my third... sounds great
Very interesting to see how this synth is powerful after 27 years.
Outstanding
Great patches, I look forward to trying them. 👍
nicely done!
This is awesome
great work, thanks for sharing!
Insane job! Thanks!
Great job
I liked the sound of it but found mine very hard to program.
Are you selling the keyboard?
Great job👏👏👏🎶

I picked one up few years ago for £150
That's a damn good price
Why was adigio for strings muted out??
Copyrighted, which is ridiculous really when you think about it 😂
Wow, very impresed how exact to the original it sounds. Great programing skills.
Thanks for the demo 🙏🏻
AN1x one of the best VAs ever created... It just keeps on giving!

ooo Maybe next time hook it up as stereo to RUclips now every thing sounds mwauuuwwwwwwmono
Oh...My...God... Amazing patch design! Thank you SO much for sharing these!!!

I was thinking the same thing, lol
haber si entiendo todos los sonidos que se oyen, salen de este sintetizador?
Hey,
Nice demo !
Can you make a tutorial on how to get those patches into the the AN1X.
Thank youuu

the AN1X killing demo !!!
thank you for the patches
Nice ones! You are a good player!
I don't know what is more impressive: your skills, or your kindness :)
3:04 Stranger Things (intro theme)! It's really good! Darn close to the original!
That's what I'd call "some effort".

Thanks Hristo (YT didnt notify me of your reply) mmm, hope its not the synth. The lack of clarity is only slight, post EQ should make it better..
An1x and JP 8000 were breathtaking when they came out .... love both to this day ... never owned one 😢
@Rachel L. Gore Where are you living? I am asking if I am able to send you Yamaha. Btw, I have changed the account.

Did NOT expect to hear Homeworld! Extra points for that :D
Need more bass? I know that an1x has huge bottoms.
I didn't have studio monitors back then. Probably there are way more lows you can get from an1x, I agree
The track you want to hear is at 5:38 :)
whats the name of this song :P
@@ECOGtheMC Leva's polka ;D
did you import external sounds for this or are all these patches sourced and synthesized within the AN1X ?
Everything you hear is from the AN1x sound engine. You can't import sounds onto this synth.
Great Patches 👍
Very well done with the AN1x!
Hi bro, is there any contrast or brightness adjustment for the LCD? Thanks!
I’ve had the AN1x for years and don’t think there’s any option for screen brightness or contrast sadly dude
Cool. I played around on an An1x once.
Come si fa a mettere modulation pitch +2 in alto e -12 in basso?
Use the Control Matrix. There are parameters for the pitch bend range (both up and down) for each scene

fantastic job! Thank you!

Amazing work and you still make it available for free, thanks for patches!
Never understood those, who sell their sound banks. It's just a bunch of tweaked parameters, nothing more.

I'm using windows 11 and the sound editor works just fine

Yes, I use split mode
@@TheFinalCutBG Gotcha. I had one years ago but couldn’t totally remember. You definitely nailed some of these tunes like Nightcall.
Can you get piano sound as well?
Sadly - no. An1x doesn't have a sampler, so it's nearly impossible to reproduce the sound of a real piano.
Is there any way to run them on my CS1X ?
I really like this patches

@@TheFinalCutBG ok thanks i search for Prodigy presets very long but cannot find any in .syx
CS1x is not really a wavetable synth (it cannot scan through different waves over time for any given sound “element”). Just rather plain ROMpler.
u will become famous if u do a cover of memes songs like coffin song do some chainsmokers next. keep safe and godbless
