Welcome, this building will have many uses but is ultimately my man cave. The middle of the building is open and will cover my sawmill, the ends will be mirrored with lofts. One end will be a multi use studio space that will also double as a guest house. The other ends loft is still up for debate what I will use it for. The building will also have lean to's on 3 sides for equipment and recreational space to keep its users from the sun and weather. While this is not supposed to be my normal shop, it will be part shop in a way. I will use it to mill lumber for projects. In the studio space I will paint, write, engrave and occasionally hide from my family.
In this video, I show progress I have made off camera and finish up decking the loft roof then dry it in with underlayment. I'm glad to get this step done, everything leading up to starring from where I left off in the last video has been very slow. From here on progress will be much faster, hoping to put out another video soon.

The Poplar bark shingles are the coolest use of materials I’ve seen in a LONG time! Reshaping your roof metal panels is awesome also!

It’s one of my favorite details i’ve ever done. I think you could easily over do it and it be kind of corny in a rustic/ski- lodge sense which is why i only used them sparingly. I also plan to use them on an interior space as well but in a way that you will hardly know what they are. Thanks for watching

Thanks, I am pleased with the siding as well. I like how at a distance you really can't tell what it is, kind of looks like some weathered galvanized metal, then as you get close you see what it is. Thanks for watching.

As for the nail holes in the roofing metal, if the hole is up on a ridge, even on the side of the “V” it will never leak.

I was wondering when you would eventually use scaffolding to help in your build. To me it made a lot more sense then climbing up and down a ladder. Now you are about 30+ years younger than I and in excellent health and condition so maybe you just want the exercise? Ladder have their purpose but for building higher structures I think scaffolding does a better job. But what do I know. Never built a structure before.
I have decided that my next home is going to be a yurt in the mountains of NC. I will be installing wallboard for a few interior rooms (bedroom and bathroom) and a single wall for appliances.
