Great review. But why the greedy Japanese don't make just a metal case instead of cheap chrome plastic? In mass production it will cost them only a couple of dollars more but for buyers it would make a significant difference.

I was able to take the f201 module and put it into the a178 case. Seemed to be happy. So was I.

The closest models with resin case and bands that I can think of: F201W (+ Timer and 5 alarms), W96H, and W800H.

That's a very interesting question. I wish they make more stainless steel case for vintage models in the future.
