Fun Fact: Frederick the Great wrote extensively about the tactics of total war, and employed several of them on the battlefield to great effect. One of his most infamous maneuvers during the Silesian War was a feinted retreat, where he lured the Austrians into attacking his rear, by setting fire to his own encampment, and then encircling their forces from the flanks. Laith recently attempted a similar maneuver, by setting fire to his own kitchen in order to get out of live streaming with Quarbit.

Laith the Great
@@viligerm6592Laitherick the great
they used to call him one of the kings in eu4 now he is officially the king of terrible haircuts
The wild Laith, losing his mind, asserts dominance as the top EUIV youtuber with an unheard of strategy: playing a non-1444 start date
35:53 *”Trust me, it’s the cannons, the cannons are the big thing.”*

1672 Netherlands, also known as Rampjaar (disaster year). You start with half your country occupied by France while also at war with England, Münster and Cologne. Good luck...
I nearly forgot that other start dates existed
The thing with the Austrian war reparations is that you garnish from their overall income, including any money they gain from loans, so if you force them to take loans to cover the cost of money taken in the peace deal, or they need to take a loan for some other reason while they pay war reps, you get money for it.
So stackwiping them down to zero troops can be worth it in some situations? I assume the AI would take loans to get back to forcelimit
@@poldi2233 In theory. It's possible that significantly wealthy nations might have loans so large that they don't need to take another loan to rearm, or they might not have enough manpower to fully rearm and end up distributing the cost.
1610 as Lebanon is crazy
Playing around with start dates is the best move for content. Great idea
seeing somebody delete cavalry pains my heart so much, a single tear rolls down my cheek as i spiral into a deep pit of sadness
past like tech 16, european cav falls off and you just want full rows of infantry and cannons. unless you have decent cav combat ability of some sort, like Poland, that shock just will not make up for the sheer value of fire
@@theendoftheworldhasbeenqui2485 theyre my horsies... my beautiful horsies
Napoleon when he entered into Prussia after a victory visited Fredericks grave, and said that "Frederick would have beaten me"
38:22 Glad to see British Cyprus making a cameo
9:37 unironically Frederiks plan at the start of the war.
Day 1 of asking Laith to play the Code Geass Total Conversion Mod for EU4
It's basically an alt-history mod with a start date in 1812, with Napoleon exiling the British monarchy to their American colonies (USA never happened in 1776), and then himself dying a few years later with Europe banding together to establish a federation in order to prevent another Napoleon from ever ruling again - thus establishing Europia United (E.U.). The French monarchy, similarly to the British one, is also exiled to the new world - in the kingdom of Louisiana. At the same time Mexico is fighting their war of independence, and should they be succesfull they can become the main rival for American dominance of the newly established Britannian Empire. In Asia, the British East India Company is independent, China (Han) tries to unite the East into a Chinese Federation (C.F.), and Iran works to establish it's own Middle Eastern Federation to rival the E.U. and the C.F. and withstand Britannian interest in that region and it's valuable oil (new trade good) resources.
The mod also properly balances the lategame EU4 start date experience, unlike Paradox's efforts in the vanilla game. The mod also adds new techs and events. The tech progression is slightly faster than what happened in our timeline, thanks to the existence of sci-fi resource Sakuradite in the in-universe canon, which in-game acts like a trade good which starts very cheap and becomes very valuable as technology advances. Events include things like real world industrial innovations from our timeline (price change events), real world historical happenings (flavor events) and so on. The trade note setup is also changed to reflect the time period and alt-history, with the new end nodes being English Channel, Pendragon (vanilla EU4's California; named after the future capital of the Britannian Empire at the gulf of Baja California) and one of the chinese nodes (maybe Beijing?).
You don't need any knowledge of the Code Geass anime or any other material to enjoy this mod, and you can play it as just an alt-history with light sci-fi elements such as quicker tech progression, such as assault rifles (inf units), tanks (cav units), submarines (faster transport of units with ships) and airplanes (country buff that gives siege ability) being invented and utilized in warfare in the late 1800s, and giant robots (inf units) being used starting near the 2000s. The campaign ends around 2070.
The interesting nations to play in this mod are: Britannia, Republic of Britain (Napoleonic Britain puppet state), Louisiana, Mexico, Revolutionary France, East India Company, Iran (Persia), Han (China). Iran and Han have unique missions aimed at forming their respective federations, while the others are allegedly still W.I.P. by the mod author, but you really don't need mission trees to roleplay as Brittania and manifest destiny all over the Americas, or as Europia United (formable by France after Napoleon dies) and force all of Europe to be your subordinate E.U. member states.
Sounds like I gotta take look at it too, dang.
Import it into Vicky 3
25:11 As it is January of 1778, Napoleon would be 8. Funny to see him as a general at 8.
I just watched a documentary on this. Absolutely mad lad Prussians. Thank God the Russian leadership changed. The Britts did help in Hanover, not much though. But enough to hold back large French armies that would have marched on Prussia.
Yeah the brits unfortunately had their hands busy in the colonies. There was a lot of combat in america and some in india too
Literally thank god. Had the Tsarina not died, and had the Russian Tsar not been the world’s first Prussiaboo Frederick “the Great” would have been a complete failure
@@sebe2255 i hate prussiaboos too but frederick was cool
@@doggerlander Doesn’t change that the only thing separating him from total defeat and victory was total luck that he had no control over.

Day 307 of asking for an Oranje Free State Playthrough of Vicky 3.
I don’t get it but I will support your endeavors with a like. Keep it up 👍
The Seven Years War was very confusing in history, but the Prussians managed to win that somehow, despite being outnumbered. I think some circumstances were simply miracles like the Russians changing sides but the rest is hard to explain anyways. And as a threat heres some little scare for Laith: PICARDY
Here are the usual quotes:
"I am in fact, not a very smart man"
"Taking Picardy was a mistake, I dont want it!"
"No! Come back! I need to feel something!"
"We have taken back the Holy Lands of Picardy!"
The Knights taking Jerusalem is amazing! DEUS VULT!
Take this to Vic2 (or 3 if thats evens possible?) and try and hold this all together lol
Tbf, Britain not supporting Prussia in the Seven Years' War is historically accurate.
36:57 - Laith confused how the losses are equal, doesn't notice the 130k attrition losses
30 years war as Bohemia is the top. Alone in war against Austria with Hungary And Spain/France (dont remember). + For some reason, you still get the aftermatch of hussite wars.
It crazy how Old Frizt manage to win this war against such odd, his country almost capitulate so many time
you should put the mikutary access map mode as one of your pinned ones its genuinely one of the ones I use the most
Venice really went ham.
I relatively recently finally got into eu4, definitely not as good as CK3 but I do know that I hate it’s late game waaayyyy more than I do CK3’s. CK3 has boring late game because you’re OP, Eu4’s late game turns into HOI but there’s no front lines or automations. I have 600 men, 8, 80 stack armies, and 3, 120 stack navies and if I don’t micro manage them the war will take even longer. God forbid I’m fighting an alliance with comparable numbers meaning the Ai might actually true to fight me. Oooo I hate it.
At that point I feel no shame just turning on Yesman and taking what I want because I know im going to win, the Ai isn’t good enough to win and all my stats are better anyway, I just don’t want to play for 4 hours to win one war that lasted 10 years.
Audio desync arnound 09:55
Man how the fuck did the knights do that lmao?
This really is not that difficult at least on eu4, just take some loans get cannons you will win any battle bc of the quality difference and you kinda just win at the end
In my game I the Qying declared on Russia lol so I was spared from facing all of their troops and was able to peace them out for money and reps after taking Moscow and some other forts
Day 70 of asking you to play Victoria 2 semi regulary.
Fell off 😔
I mean if Fredrick the Definitely Not Gay could win it, I think you can do. And yet, you do not appear to have the strength to play a Fire Emblem Game! Day 256, play the game.
Are you suggesting one of the greatest leaders of the time period was somehow lesser because he liked dudes? Buddy have you heard of Alexander the Great, maybe Caeser, or the litany of others? Only someone terminally online could believe this
Bro it's not his type of game
laith is the only human that map paints worse than ai, its impressive really how his larp is always disgusting
Isn’t he just playing historical
dude PLEASE make your interface bigger I can't see SHIT
Please don't use those subtitles again. I know they are for retention and kinda necessary, but please don't make them blue & red again. Also, they seemed weirdly out of sync, or their fade-in/fade-out animations were too long

Maybe you could try to form germany or get market leadership as Frankfurt in vicky Three, since it's a city state like Lübeck, but has no sea access, which makes it much harder.
