I have the super blast 2 and I'm not convinced. I like the grip, stability and comfort but I find them harsh on the legs especially on long runs. Perhaps it's because I'm quite light. They are also noisy.
My #1 is the Hoka Mach X2 - #2 Hoka Ceilo X2 - #3 Brooks Glycerin Max. They look to be changing the heel counter in Mach X for next year to something more Hoka like, and less racy. Been loving my Brooks Glycerin Max's despite how silly I think they look, I never have any normal aches and pain when I get home after cruising in those, and a very unique feel. Great video, as always.
@ they’re are another one of those shoes that are pretty weight and strike dependent. That’s really all I wear them for is cruising and they work well for that. I have also worn them to work a time or two, as I’m on my feet at work 10-12 hours a shift, and they have been delightful.
Sticking purely to released this year: 3. Superblast 2 2. Skyward X 1. Endorphin Speed 4. Which, upon serious reflection may be the best everyday running shoe ever All time best remains a 3 way fight between OG Alphafly, OG Vaporfly and Prime X Strung Also well done on your consistently excellent content
Would love either one of the top 2 Asics, but couldn't find one anywhere so purchased Adidas adios pro 3s.which is a very good shoe.great vid thanks , good end to a miserable day.
Adizero SL2 is the best value of 2024 in daily trainer category. Mach 6 is a very close 2nd IMHO. Two great trainers with 2 different drops for people to choose.
For me on the road - SB2, Neo Vista, Cielo X1, Sky Paris, Alphafly 3, SL2, MagMax, and Glycerin Max with the Mach X 2 climbing up fast. For the trail - Tecton X 3, S/Lab Genesis, Terrex Agravic Speed Ultra, Nnormal Kjerag, and Norda 001.
Took mine out again today after a long while; had forgotten quite how phenomenal they are. I ran 20 odd secs a km faster at the same effort as in the Boston 12s. Love them
Just recently got the NB4 and it's great. However the Boston 12 is the best shoe purchase I made this year. I wound up buying 2 pair. The Cielo X1 is so bouncy and fun, but almost too bouncy for me at times. Fast shoe lots of fun on fresh legs. Mach 6 is solid. alphafly 3 is an absolute banger, love that shoe. Your list is spot on!!!
Fleet Feet released their top 5 best sellers of 2024, number 1 Hoka Clifton 9 and 2 the Hoka Bondi. People who watch the Shoetubers like Eddbud are very excited about new shoes, I can't wait to buy the Endorphin Speed 5! Mach 6 is fantastic, try it Eddbud! General public want comfort over speed, maybe less aware.
Super cool video. Running shoes and data! What is not to like! Agree with you on the love for the Mach X 2. But all 13 shoes mentioned are great shoes. Cheers!
Puma deviate nitro elite 3 is good if you have good mechanics. But if you are a heel to midfoot striker like me, you will easily destroy the heel's rubber outsole. Mine's almost flushed to it's foam in just over 70kms. I'm working on improving my mechanics first before using it again.
@EDDBUD I've also seen other yt reviewers who might have the same mechanics as me, and suffered the same issue. It's a great shoe nonetheless, but I'm not using it anytime soon, I want it to last longer when I'm ready. Btw, Boston 12, Adidas Sl2 and Hoka mach 6 are all in my rotation. ❤️
Yep if only we can get hold of the SB2.......they are as rare as HENS teeth! It's becoming a bit of a legend now this shoe..cant wait to get hold of one!
The mach 6 was the first rockered shoe I had and man what a difference. Not sure how much it's the rocker profile vs the foam but this shoe just pushes me forward, even more so than the Cielo X1. X1 is still faster but I notice the rocker more in the mach 6. Very fun shoe. But sb2 just arrived, very excited to try them tomorrow!
I'm might be one of those outlier. Bought the Superblast 1, found it ok but not.as good as all the hype. The Boston 12 and AF3, yes, those are magic. Great video
Currently rotating Nimbus 26, Endorphin Speed 4, & Superblast. Demo’d the Glideride Max & may replace the Nimbus with that next time around. Will look for a SB2 in the future & possibly the Novablast in place of the ES4. ASICS is really hitting the mark for me!
Mach 6 is great, but make sure you go for 11.5. They definitely tried to pull the 'its lighter' (because its 5mm shorter...) trick with this one between iterations.
Excellent video as ever, Edd. I agree wholeheartedly with your comments at the end. As someone who struggles at Christmas for a number of reasons, it’s important to reach out to others, if only just to check in on them. It can help to make a massive difference. Your reviews have been a big highlight for me this year. Always honest, reasoned and spoken with a smile on your face. Your musical interludes are an inspiration by the way. I’ve checked out many an artist due to your recommendations. Keep on paying it forward, Edd.
You seen that Puma have announced a trail version of the Nitro elite! Looks very promising having that great foam in a trail offering at last. Not surprised to see the Superblast up there, sold mine on as I just didn't like them, think the Prime X2 Strung is way better 😂 Now looking forward to getting the Evo SL and Pro 4 when they release 😎
Great video. I love the Sb2, I have already 2 pairs. Notable mention for Edge Paris too, its as amazing as the Sky. Also have the Mach6 and X2 waiting in the pole position to get into my rotation.
Opinión. A6 1er. Puma 2do. Adidas 3ro Nike 4to.
I would say no surprise about the first place 😁 - the Superblast 2 is a superb shoe and since I managed to get a pair, it has been my go-to for all my marathon training. And as a “slower” runner I am even considering for the actual race - we will see about that when the time comes 😅 - Excellent video, Edd!
I luv the Hoka Mach 6 and Mach X2. My race shoe is the Mizuno Wave Rebellion Pro (not the Pro 2). Have you heard The Badlee's version of Heat Mizer? That's a go to Christmas song for me.
Thanks Edd. Always interesting to see where the interest lies! I just wish many of the manufacturers, Asics in particular, could sort out their supply issues. After a lot of hunting I finally got my hands on the Superblast 2 a couple of months back (love it) but despite many months of hunting, I'm yet to set my hands on the Sky Paris. I don't get why so many of Asics shoes are so hard to find. The materials are surely not that exotic. What's going on?
Agreed! These companies could be making a lot more money if they could get their supply chain issues sorted out. There’s clearly an appetite for these top-end running shoes and the profit margin on them would be huge given the high prices these days. I include the Puma DNE3 in that list, another shoe I haven’t been able to track down. It’s a little frustrating for consumers too!
Ah "interesting" that 2 of the top 3 don't come in my size (ASICS of course) and the other three in the top 5 i just didn't end up using that much although can see why would be generally popular.
I held back my comment because I thought you were only looking for 2024 shoes - oops! Boston 12 is a fantastic shoe for me. Yeah the upper could be better but the grip is very good, fits fairly well and great energy return for all sorts of runs (even easy pace surprisingly). Also enjoying the Ghost Max 1, Adizero SL2, and Puma Liberate 2 (nice for reps and slightly trail-y parkruns). Got too many shoes already but looking forward to trying my first Novablast, Evo SL, and perhaps the Adios 9 when it finally turns up (though many Evo SL will be similar enough to not need it).
If you feel comfortable running in the shoes and don't get any injuries... everything's great, enjoy running! There is no “obligation” to use the latest model.😉 For example, i still have the Takumi Sen 8 in my shoe rotation and i love them. Sporty greetings
I wonder the demographic of respondents? Given the average Park Run time is around 28 minutes the shoes this group like would probably different to a 14 minute 5k runner 😮
Mr Bud. Top, top content as ever. Pretty happy with the 2024 training options of Peg 41s, Saucony Speeds and some deviate nitro 1s for good measure. Not too happy with how i raced in the Adios Pro 3s, however. Struggling to find a replacement for my beloved Alphafly 1s for the marathon. What is the closest in your view, within the current market options? Alpha 3?
I think I might have a shoe problem since all 10 of those shoes are in my closet……… They are definitely winners. I have got to stop buying more running shoes.

@ how bouncy or how much energy return would u say you get from ride 17 or Adizero sl2 I’m thinking of using one of them as a daily trainer also Adizero sl2 is £79 after code on start fitness
@ the sl is perhaps better on short distances. The ride has a little more stability and wider base. Quite different models really. A much narrower feel in the sl
Asics and Adidas are the best brands for me at the moment, never gotten on with any Nike shoes, arch-pain hell 🙁 Saucony 3rd, Puma 4th, don't have a 5th! 😂

My #1 is the Hoka Mach X2 - #2 Hoka Ceilo X2 - #3 Brooks Glycerin Max. They look to be changing the heel counter in Mach X for next year to something more Hoka like, and less racy. Great stuff

Love my ASICs Sky Paris, got faster as the season wore on. My last race was without the Sky Paris and I was slower!
Superblast 2, SL2 and Deviate Nitro Elite 3 💥
My year has been a lot of Superblast, Novablast, Vaporfly 3, and a bit of Cielo X1.
ASICS and Puma are my two favorites!
Going over 450 miles in Novablast 4 with today's run. Holding-up well.
I am helping the RUclips algorithm because I like EddBud. Pure originality for you 💪
adidas prime X/ strung is the best shoe ever
Took mine out again today after a long while; had forgotten quite how phenomenal they are. I ran 20 odd secs a km faster at the same effort as in the Boston 12s. Love them
VF3 are worth a shout surely knocked a minute of my 5k last week from 24 to 23.

Amazing how the Superblast can be so popular even though no one can get hold of it!

The viewers have spoken. And spoken well.
I voted for Alphafly 3, the Novablast 4, and, this one came as no surprise, the Superblast 2.
Justice for the Deviate Elite 3. It was robbed by being placed at 8. But i cant be mad because I voted for the SL2 and Superblast 2 as well
Top selections sir
Yep if only we can get hold of the SB2.......they are as rare as HENS teeth! It's becoming a bit of a legend now this shoe..cant wait to get hold of one!
Try wearing a US size 14. They don't even make the superblast or metaspeed line in my size 😢
Midsole and ride on Adidas SL 2 were very good, but I found this shoe was just too narrow and had terrible grip in wet weather. Gave mine away.
I'm loving my Magmax, but that's just me.

SUPERBLAST is the only shoe that keeps my feet feeling fresh after runs over 20k
My favourite purchases this year are SL2s and Endorphin Speed 4. I have just picked up a pair of Rebel V4s which seem pretty good.
All I want for Christmas is my Superblast 2, my Superblast 2, see my Superblast 2...so I can wish me Merry Christmas!!

Edd, Adidas recommends going a size up on their website for their SL2. Would you agree with their assessment?

I was going half size up with the SL2 = 👌. Sporty Greetings!
Yes half size was perhaps preferable.
Love the Alphafly 3 prototype look. To bad the Ekiden version looks a bit to toy ish this year
Yes the flame logos are not good!
Your Hoka Cielo X matches the runr on your hoodie.
Good spot!

Asics / Puma taking the piss! Have never seen the Nitro Elite or SB2 in stock in UK 11 (among other models) despite checking numerous times this year.
