- I have always had in mind to build a wooden spokeshave. Al last I have decided to make one myself with one kit of Veritas and the result has been fully satisfactory.

i'm in the middle of doing one of these and found your video. Nicely done! I'm not a handtool guy in general but this little project is a great way to start. the veritas parts are typical veritas; excellent, very clever adjustment system

I found a Hock large spokeshave blade (with set screws) from Woodcraft, $40. With that and your instruction I'm sure I can make a success of it.

Este domingo hicimos los faldones, nos falta hacer las espigas con umbrillo, ya no dio tiempo a más. Otro grupo hizo las escopleaduras de las patas y otros pegaron los tableros. El próximo domingo seguimos con lo que falta, nos quedan nada mas 2 clases.

Well, I’ve seen enough now to know that I’ll just purchase a nice spoke shave like I want from Grizzly and not totally frustrate myself trying to build from a kit. That’s way too involved for me, oh wait, that’s right I’m 73 and probably won’t live long enough to attempt the kit plus I’ve got the money now to obtain a professional model. But kudos to you and any young Buck wanting to challenge their woodworking abilities. 😅

The project came out great! I've been considering building one with the veritas hardware too ... looks like a great kit. The videography though is just outstanding! Very well done!!

Mikhandmaker likewise I made a hand plane from hock tools and if I could afford it I'd make so many more it was such a fun project I didn't video it because I wanted to turn out perfect I'm working on that though I need to start building bigger projects and videoing them need to learn how to work the camera and edit better hoping with this new software I got because RUclips did away with their RUclips editor I'll be able to produce butter and more consistent videos and always bro always watch your stuff.

Whats that brass thing you're using to scribe on the wood called? About how much do they run and the first saw you used was that the ryoba 240mm Japanese pole saw?
I think that you refer to the gauge of Veritas. Regarding the saw, you're right, it's a ryoba.

I tried making this like you did from a piece of wood. My cuts were so imprecise, I broke down and bought the Cherry blank. One question: Where did you get that gorgeous making knife? I want one just like that one. Been looking and have not found one.
