    I'm a RN. When you take the cap off a needle, twist it to break it loose. Then it will come off easily and you won't jab yourself. You have a great channel. Thanks.

    I just ordered this needle fitting for my grease gun. The ball joints on the front end of my car are squeaking away. The uppers have the zerk fittings from the factory. I pumped those up hoping that would get rid of the squeaking. No such luck. I’ll try to post again after I use the tool . But, the video cleared up a question I had. Thanks so much for making the video 👍

    That bigger one isn't intended to be used by sticking it into the boot. That one is used to go directly into a zerk fitting or other types of fittings that come on newer ball joints. For instance, I have upper ball joints that have a place to poke that right down the center of it and fill it with grease - done. Great tool, but not for stabbing the boots... too big of a hole. Great vid. Glad you didn't poke yourself. :)

      The bigger needle is for different fitting. There are fittings for it don't use for puncturing please. I would use the smaller needle if you know you will replace it but most needle fittings will be called out in the manuals.

      Be careful though. I had an older Tundra that was squeaky in turns and did this....yes it fixed the noise,but the ball joint failed. Driving about 50 mph the lower ball joint broke. So, if it is real bad now,just replace it with new joints that have a zerk fitting. I think this is good for vehicles that aren't to far gone like mine was. Cheers!

    Hi Dairle - are you using the needle to pierce the boots in order to grease? If yes, does that cause any leakage issues in the long-term? I’ve never greased anything before on my truck, looking to learn! Thanks so much in advance!

    • @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892
      @dairleautoclassicrestorati6892  Месяц назад +1

      @MidwestF150 Good question, If your Vehicle has grease fittings. You want to make sure that you use them only. Some Vehicles without grease fittings may have some type of plug/screw that you can remove and place in a grease fitting. This video basically points out if you do not have those two options. Then you can go this route. I myself may have gotten a little heavy on the grease. But you get the idea 😀. You can put some silicone over the needle hole once you finish.

      @mastrsk8 You asked a good question. It's a matter of opinion. Some will agree and some may disagree depending on the location. With the larger needle. You may be able to go underneath or on top without punching any holes. With the smaller needle on top maybe best. And maybe try not to pack it to tight. I got a little heavy handed 😀

      Sure it could, if the rubber has lost its flexibility and hard as a rock. I use A-205 to help keep the rubber soft and pliable. But a hole that tiny doesn't really suffer the amount of stress like a rip or tear. In fact, it's not even a hole until it's under stress, so I don't think I'd lose any sleep over it. Peace

      You do not have to pack it full of grease. Just enough to have some inside the boot. Ball Joints show several signs of wear. If you noticed a potting sound when turning left or right. Or frontend may Squeak. You can lift up the frontend and shake each wheel . If you have excess movement. That's a sign of worn ball joints .
