OMG, Maggie, when art NAGS at your brain, then you MUST create it! If you don't, it can drive you crazy! (I just put away my paints for a wee bit so I could do a metal sculpture that's been nagging at me for weeks!) I love your cloud pours, and this one dried so pretty! Do what makes your heart sing, Maggie!! Your soul knows what needs to be created! With smiles and hugs from Southern California ~Cheryl
Beautiful painting! I love the colors and swirling effect. On a side note, you have such a lovely voice. You could do audiobook narrations or voice actor work! Thanks for sharing your creations with us. 🎨
Thank you Wendy… I’ve been a bit slack with the videos lately-real life having greater priority well that’s my excuse anyway ha ha ha ha. In truth I just find it so hard to do these regularly with everything else I need to do - I wish videos were on my need to do list instead of my want to do list .. I know you know what I mean.
Thank you Rob darling I’ve pushed the ‘cloud pour’ and the thicket paint gives what I like the most. So initially I didn’t like this- but in retrospect- it’s my preferred method.... interesting how time and experience changes perspective. I hope you’re shining Rob 💖😘💕
It came out great! Great color choices And I appreciate you not just showing the attempt that was the most successful and telling your fellow artist that there were other attempts that didn’t work out. Because I think when we see these videos of all the various artists they don’t normally say that that’s not the first attempt butthat its one of many.
My first video, new sub here... this is something i want to do as well! I will go back and see your other videos! Looks like this is going to be a stunner! Blessings! Pamela
It’s pretty good - I still love looking at it. It was so satisfying- I must say - I haven’t done a mely d inspired one for months - I must be well over due for another attempt!
psyhead - thank you I created another today using this process It didn’t work out as expected- though I got some interesting effects - I’ll be uploading it in a day or so - I hope you’ll enjoy it like you enjoyed this one 😊
@@ArtMaggikwithMaggie u r welcome. I'm new at this. I kind sorta did lol I didn't work. I went hobby lobby to get the satin enamel ( tiny bottly) one was satin one was enamel. So I fig in my logical brain I could mix the 2? My question is can I do that for the cloud effect? Or what paint do i need? I think i might of asked someone this b4? Lots going on.. thanku for your time..
Ooooo - I’m not sure if you should mix the 2. I never did get Art Deco brand. I’d give it a whirl and see how it goes. The better cloud pours I’ve seen Have paint thinner than a usual pour. Try it and I’d love to hear how you go.
I would have loved to see it finished, cuz I loved the colors you chose. I kept thinking, lets get on with it....tip tip tip! But, you have your way of doing things. I let my paint spread once on the canvas, which takes a minute or two depending on the size of the canvas, then I tip slowly, but not so slow it dries while tipping...LOL. I see some folks tip super fast, and I am like, "aaaccckkk", but anyway, I am blabbering, now
Love the colors and composition. I would have like to see the canvas covered with the extended blue background. I read you will try to do such painting. Great look forward to it.
Josie Cochrane ohhhh you’ll love it. It’s very satisfying when you achieve it. Don’t be disheartened if it doesn’t work out on the first attempt- you’ll still get a lovely creation 😊
Emma Marcellin I’m glad you got a useful tip! When I watch back I’m often surprised at the little bits of information that’s impacted through the process. Thanks for watching. 💖
If you don't mind me offering some advice I've learned that with my cloud pours they're much more effective when you allow the paints to mix somehow by either pouring up a little higher or dropping the paint in the cup prior to pouring in a way that it mixes a little bit. I've also learned that if there is a bit of water mixed with your paint and whatever pouring medium, it seems to help. This is just my experience. I'm sure Maggie can add to this. 💜
Melt, can you tell me what is a good epoxy to use on canvas and if I should buy gloss, matte or what type of finish? I enjoy you so much and watch you over and over. Thank you. Barb
Hi Barb, first sorry about the delay in responding- I hope you’ve managed to putzzle through your questions. If you haven’t as yet- let me know where in the world you are and I will be able to offer you options accordingly.
Really lovely! I’m like you, I just don’t want to give up until I succeed. I’m working on the cloud pour and another effect by Gina deLuca. I’m working on my own theory, would you mind sharing how many feet above sea level do you live? I live only 120 feet above sea level, and I’m beginning to wonder if some effects are “effected” by altitude.
Marcy Freeman oooo that’s an amazing theory, I’d love to hear more! I love in a little town called Ballan, it’s 442m above sea level. I’m working a Gina technique too, I just haven’t got around to filming it. I should do that, I’m attempting the shell 🐚... I can’t spell the correct way to right it write it... if you know her work well you’ll know which one I mean. We’re so lucky to have so many great people to influence out styles. I’m also a bit into ballon pours, and really loving feathers! I’m practicing my feathers more before I did a video! I’m so heavy handed with the paint. So oftentimes it’s a bit spread out by the dry, I have my base paint a bit thicker, and it holds better. Have a lovely day.
This is a wonderful effort .I have had no such luck so far only duds. I was convinced that the artist loft white flow acrylic was a must for the cloud reaction to take effect because all of the fantastic attempts by other artists over past weeks used it 50% 50% with the enamels. I think I will try your mix because the artist loft is not available in Australia. Thank you very much.👌 Ps can you tell me which white paint you added to the Enamel paint 50% 50% please as I can not get The Artist loft white.
blackangel3375 welcome welcome - mixed media is fun fun and so interesting with its depth of texture and layers of different things. This pour (as you can tell) was a really important one for me- it bought together many attempts and learnings from previous efforts- I love it too.
blackangel3375 it really does- I love showing my experimental pieces - we all learn together - especially when things take an unexpected turn! And the fails that open our minds up to a better way forward are great too!
Ooooo Cheri That’s such a shame / it’s definitely your computer - try again because there is sound - and some of it is great learning and some of it funny. If only I could be more organised and consistent it would be helpful to us all! One thing I have learnt is that if I push myself I don’t enjoy it as much so I try to find a happy balance and except that I’m a three weeks on and three weeks of person.
