- Doris Day singing "Hey There" from the 1957 musical The Pajama Game. She's amazing. She sang this song live, not pre-recorded! I added this since the other one on here got deleted, so hopefully the powers that be will leave it alone. =)
Doris was the greatest. The intimacy, feeling..... No one comes close. Thank you.
If I ever get stuck in a 50's time warp, I hope I get to hang out with Doris; I always loved her.
Most people forget that Doris began as a liltin' big band birdie. She always meant what she sang. A true, an honest artist, and a fine person.
Doris is simply wonderful. Thanks.
I was in my high school choir several years ago, and for my final choir concert, we did the music for The Pajama Game. I still love the movie.
A superb play with an even better book. If I could only see ONE Broadway Play EVER, it would be this one.....Songs, songs, songs....
Those colors, that voice.........incredibile!
In 1949 Doris, Bob Hope & Les Brown was to appear at the Gator Bowl in Jax, Fla.
This was before TV. I had a pass from Columbia into the radio studio. There was no one there. She was obsolutely georgous, beyond beauiful, she had her hair in pin curlers, no makeup, and a black slip under a Faux fur coat. I had no camera
she talked about Eve Arden and her favorite singer Dinah Shore and the death of Buddy Clark. Its was like a dream for she became a MEGA STAR and i'm sure no believed me
My first musical show was Pajama Game..I was just in the chorus..Community Theater...I loved this song.
I totally agree - no one can compare! Thank you so much for commenting! =)
The BEST Babe Williams - ever ever ever!!!!

our school is doing this for our spring musical and i really wanna be her character. so bad. i just hope i can come somewhere close to her
Thanks, man. She's still a dream.
Love Doris Day. Thank you for posting.
Thanks for Doris' Daylikatessen!
It's really a great scene - the movie is good too. She actually wasn't nominated for an Oscar for this, it was for Pillow Talk, but it should have been for this too. =) Thanks for commenting! =)
Doing the pajama game for my school play:)
I still find it puzzling why she didn't make an album with Nelson Riddle, though he orchestrated some of the tracks on this film
@RPenta Haha! Me too! Doris is my gal. =)
Have you ever seen it live? It's a dream of mine.
@DorisDayFanatic You are correct! sorry... I saw Doris once, 1971 much taller than you might imagine, 5' 8 "
@starla246 Wow, that's awesome that you're getting it tattooed, haha! And aww, why thank you! Much love goes to you, too! =D
@DollyParton2000009 Bless your young heart.
@pointymace16 Yes, Audrey Hepburn is one of my absolute favorites! I adore her.
absolutely the nuts every song I sang as a child makes you deal with a life of failed marriages
I cannot believe I have never seen the film or this scene this is amazing no wonder she was nominated for Oscar! rest of it is like a Play.... and a little over acted but what musical is not...
@RPenta Haha! Well, I'm a girl...but yes, they're great, too! If I went back, I'd marry Cary Grant, and Doris would be my BFF. ;)
@RPenta tardis?
Great Song, Listen to the Maynard Ferguson version,
its odd, Doris looks like a cross between Christina Applegate and Renee Zelwegger.
Sutton Foster brought me here
@RPenta
Then again, Connie Francis, Audrey Hebburn, Gina Lolabrigida, and Sophia Loren were not bad either.
