- A 7.5 earthquake rocked Taiwan Tuesday. There is no tsunami danger for Oregon, Washington, California, British Columbia or Alaska, the National Weather Service said.

It woke me up at 8am 2 hours ago. The whole Taiwan felt it. Hualien got hit the hardest. From 8am to 10am Hualien has had 29 earthquakes after that big one ranging from 3-50km deep

Buildings are good. It's expected in a progressive countries like Japan and Taiwan.Not as big damage as in the Philippines

the entire plate gonna move in a 10.0 or greater soon enough... i'd recommend getting at least 60km off the pacific coast
If that happens, I would recommend getting as far away from any coast line as possible. Kinda like a bathtub… the water sloshes one way, then sloshes back the other.
I don’t think the crust has unlocked from the mantle just yet though… the ionosphere is still a bit too strong to allow it. These EQ’s seem to be the remnants of the double flare we had a few days back. Energy shoots through the fault lines and finds the easiest place to unlock… this time it was Taiwan.

I stayed in Taipei City and Hualien back while traveling in 2010. Hualien s a beautiful coastal town not far from the stunning Toroko Natl. park that I was there to tour. My heart goes out to all the citizens that have lost loved ones.

Although the intensity of this earthquake was high, the damage in Taiwan was not severe compared with previous earthquakes in Turkey or other countries. Many buildings in Taiwan are ugly and old, but their earthquake resistance is still very good. Taiwanese people also took the earthquake relatively calmly.
