Hope Everyone Safe.
at least 4 people were killed by boulders crashing onto a roadway.
those buildings leaning over like that. Strong enough to stay intact, but the foundations gave in. Wow, I hope the best for them.
It wasn't the foundations that gave way, it was the 1st story that crumbled.
Poor folks...that is intense! I hope that aid comes swiftly!
Pray for Taiwan 😢
Why be so superstitious?
@@uriituw
It's not superstition, it's Belief and Faith.
Of course, you don't have to believe, and you don't have to be rude to those of us who do.
I'm praying for the people who have been affected by this earthquake and I'm also praying for all who are lost without Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior.
@@revelationakagoldeneagle8045 It's a believe in what, specifically?
No-that's all superstition.
Your superstition isn't relevant to the video.
@@revelationakagoldeneagle8045 Well said.
@@revelationakagoldeneagle8045Amen 🙏
The crazy angle of those houses but they didn’t collapse
The first story did. And the others could at any time.
They obviously did
We stand with the people of Taiwan
🤘
Pray🙏 for Taiwan people
@@nethmarcelo2926 Prayers aren’t going to have any effect.

Kind soul you are!

7.4 Yikes. a big one
Looks like the Building Code is saving lives... !
Except where it doesn’t prevent soft stories.
yup
I was watching 2011 Japan earthquake videos last night and then I woke up to an earthquake in Taiwan today. 😳
I was too! Wow
Oh my It must have been horrifying i hope you and your family is ok, sending prayers.
@@gabrielfrost9134 Oh shut up.
Prayers for Taiwan!
What's that going to achieve?
@@uriituw ~ It makes those praying feel better because they can pass off responsibility to the imaginary friend in the sky.
Hope, recovery….What's your general attitude going to achieve? You're wallowing in it aren't you.
@@russgodinho3358 Hope in what?
@@uriituw Are you willingly this ignorant?!
Lucky they didn’t use Turkish building codes.
Love to Taiwan fr9m Australia ❤
Building still intact but foundation already gave ways
Soft first story.
These are built directly on the fault line. Foundation might be okay but half a building dropped and half raised.
I was immediately surprised that the whole place wasn't flattened then I realized it was Taiwan and Not China. Big difference in construction.
Their buildings are well constructed to have had so little damage.
The tilted buildings show the effect of liquefaction.
Fuerza desde Mexico..Hermanos de Taiwan.
Ánimo!!!Saludos desde Oaxaca México,un estado donde siempre tiembla.
Wow, this reminds me of the damage we had in San Francisco in the 1989 quake. Keeping Taiwan and its people in my thoughts and prayers.
~I was in that one~I even saw the Bay Bridge collapse~
Yup me too. I was in upper deck section 45 of Candlestick park and it felt like that stadium was made out of cardboard!!!!! 5:04pm October 17th 1989. Never forget!!!!! 👍
I have watched lot of earthquake videos and the number of people recording video while the building is still shaking is baffling.
Have you ever been in an earthquake? Ive been in two and unless youre in a rural area where you can get out and into the open theres nowhere safe to go and nothing you can do.
Thats the thing about earthquakes - its the earth quaking, and, unless you can fly, youre not going anywhere you can avoid that. You just have to ride it out. When you experience your first eathquake for real you'll understand.
So, if youre in a building and cant get out, you might as well video whats going on while youre waiting.
@@tileux I'm from Nepal, I've been in an earthquake.
@@Ekalavya Well - out of curiosity - what do you do when youre in an earthquake?
@@tileux Also how many 50 story skyscrapers are in Nepal?

those poor people....
What about them
Does everyone see the difference in aftermath between this earthquake and Turkey 2023 earthquake? This is the difference between "no corruption" and "corruption".
How ridiculous, it has nothing to do with corruption and everything to do with Taiwan sitting on the Pacific Ring of Fire and the need to earthquake proof structure which can be found in all countries where earthquakes are frequent. As for this belief that Taiwan is corrupt free, is asinine. Even countries in the supposed law abiding west are riddled with corruption in various forms.
Those are some very strong glass for the windows not shattering during the quake.
Taiwan is a country 👍
I stand with Taiwan in opposing these unwarranted earthquakes.
Yeah me too
solidarity with Taiwan against unsolicited earthquakes
Not sure what you mean by "opposing" - earthquakes are a natural phenomena - you cannot 'oppose' them....
天佑台灣,大事化小 小事化無!感恩!
Help me please
That type of building construction, with open plan parking on the first floor, is very unstable. During the Loma Prieta earthquake in California, most of the buildings that collapsed and burned in the Mission District of San Francisco, were built like that. The authorities ought to make sure that any such buildings in Taiwan are retrofitted with proper bracing. Those two buildings would not have fallen if they were properly braced.
San Francisco has gone to the doggies.
Loma Prieta gave a young 7yo boy earthquake-PTSD.
I live in this type of pancake building. Scary af.
Not the mission district, the marina district!!!!! 👍
I guess they will now have to rename that Hotel the Tilton Hilton.
Scary.
Thank u for sharing😊
Standing under those mountain slopes at 2:40... no, thanks-! And those first building, shaken off their foundations.
Yikes!!!
Very scary. Hope everyone is safe
Those giant buildings tilted over looks crazy. Also a testament to their larger buildings' quality.

How scary…
So surreal to see them on the angles like that. Scary
Heart breaking moment
0:03 the man looking ahed at the collapsing building looked as if he was looking to prop up the building bracing it back with a pole
His wife was telling him to back away.
Oh no. May Gods Angels keep every person and pets safe.

Speak English.
@@uriituw I don't like English; I like the way people in America talk way more.
@@MrJuvefrank Is that not (for the most part) English?

Praying to our Saviour and Comforter, Lord Jesus Christ. Comfort and care the people of Taiwan, protect and have mercy on them. Thank you, Lord🛐
My goodness, this is awful.😢😢🙏🏼🙏🏼
Wow 7,4 ?? 😮😮😮😮

How would you like to be on an upper floor in that far-leaning building? Terrifying.
1:50, am i hearing an arnold voice over there? lol
😅 I heard it too...
Last year it was happened again.
Prayers for Taiwan ❤
What would that achieve?
All things considered, superb architectural engineering! Unlike China with their tofu buildings.
That's true.
0:24 "Ouch, you are so heavy to me. Why don't you eat less?" and she says with smile.
Even in such moment, Taiwanese still making jokes. Meaning the situation is not so serious.

Show the time and date
yikes imagine how terrifying it was to be on that bridge!! hoping its not going to fall!! bet people were praying like crazy that it wouldnt collapse!
By your side Taiwan.
I'm no earthquake expert, but...
If I were in a major earthquake, I wouldn't whip out my phone and start recording it. I would evacuate the building and hope nothing would crush me. I would also have a "go bag" handy that includes enough first aid, flashlight, medicine, snacks and hygiene stuff for a few days.
I did see some people responding properly and tried to rescue people, thank goodness.
I hope that all that can be rescued be rescued. Those that couldn't, sorry for them and their families.
why I see japanese landscape?
Probably similar because of the area. Japan is not that far off.
Prayers for Taiwan ....
Superstition.
7.4 là mạnh lắm.Pray for people Taiwan.Hồi xưa ở Mỹ bị 6.5 mà sợ lắm rồi và Mỹ cứu trợ rất nhanh chóng.
1:14 It would be safer to walk on the left side of that red and white leaning building because it's easier for it to fall towards the right than it is to fall towards the left. You might get crushed if you walk on the right-hand side of it.
頑張って😭日本から祈っています🥺
The Taipei 101 building in the distance (world's tallest from 2004 until Burj Khalifa in 2010) looked like it was taking the earthquake with little to no problem.
It still moved though.
Intensity V at Taipei
It has a giant heavy metal ball in the middle of it to keep its balance, but you probably already know that
It’s designed to withstand earthquakes.
@@hc434Actually, I wasn't familiar with how the building was designed to handle movements. Thank you for the information....that's pretty interesting!
WHAT
That's awful. And I hate to say it, but beware of Chinese offers of sending many personnel to 'assist'.
