Can you imagine making an album realizing that it was gonna go nowhere, breaking up to all lead separate lives, then coming back decades later to have found out you all become legends in a scene you didnt know you started? What a great story.
I doubt they imagined in 1999 that they'd one day be performing across the pond to thousands of fans, with people jumping on stage and singing along to just their guitar riffs. The crowd’s reaction to Never Meant was so heartwarming, a great reminder that you never know what sort of an impact your project might have 25 years later
I love the resurgence they're having, but speaking as someone who remembers when the album came out, it didn't "go nowhere." It was a well-recieved indie-rock record, and that was just a much smaller world back then.
The story of Owen's booking agent contacting promoters who told them, "We'd happily take an American Football tour too if you rep them" was a fascinating read. They seemed genuinely confused why promoters were asking for a band that hadn't released an album in over a decade.
the fact that the sun was setting on the visualiser wall at the same time as real life was crazy, easily one of the best nights of my life!!! i was privileged enough to get mike kinsella's setlist actually, and i have it framed on my wall now haha
this was so fucking magical, the people vibing, the video of The House synchronized with the sunset, that ending... I flew from Rio to Manchester just for the fest and despite the debts and pre-travel stress, it was one of the best decisions I've made in my life. unforgettable

The security were top notch all weekend. Obviously not as big a factor on this stage but on the 2 more hardcore focused stages they did a good job of staying out the way but jumping in when someone was hurt or likely to get hurt without disrupting things e.g. stopping dives at one area of the stage during Harms Way because someone needed medical help.
Man, every set I have seen from this fest seems lit. Really love the stage for the audience before the real stage. Honestly a great idea. That Never Meant performance looked like a hell of a time.
This was a great way to end an insane weekend of madness, it felt like a very bittersweet moment knowing how awesome of a weekend I had and how it was now coming to an end 🥹
I feel like they only captured the magic in the bottle once. And that's fine. Same for bands like Refused. Something you did a long time ago gets famous and you can't just go back.

And if they wrote the same album now it would've been buried within weeks because they didn't film. enough corny tiktoks to promote it.

Truly amazing, wish I was there. Saw them in Boston in 2017, but this show and new resurgence is amazing to see

maybe they did it on purpose
The crowd singing along to the riff in Never Meant. Beautiful
Euro and South American crowds just rule, so much better than American crowds (I'm American)

I wouldve balled my eyes out if i were here
As a person that WAS there, I cried. There was something so magical about them.
The best crowd for an American Football performance in years
Man, that tech is basically the sixth member of the band now. Good for him. I'm sure he has a cool story.
Nangis pas Never Meant keren banget pada sing along semua cooyyyy. Thanks for the video my man! The audio is amazing too!

I tried to spot myself during honestly. Saw myself for a split second before the camera cut away. Was magical.
Our teenage years guys now our adult years
This might the most animated I’ve ever seen a crowd at an american football show
BEST SONGS
No puedo creer que no los he visto en vivo, es el momento ahora. Que gran trabajo limpio y pulido, mantienen la vibra de aquel álbum
Didn't catch them in Manch but did see them in Notts for the first time, band show & crowd were great.

No phones just handsup
this video is testament to why your phone should stay in your pocket
They played "The one with the wurlitzer" after "Stay home"
Ahead of era
MANTAPP
damnnnnnn
Biggest regret missing this year .. fuck
the world is slowly healing
Fuck yes
Wouldn't mind these guys getting around to making something new... I feel like LP3 was everything LP2 should have been.
I feel like they have another album left in them. They're a real full fleshed out band here and sound so good
I feel like they only captured the magic in the bottle once. And that's fine. Same for bands like Refused. Something you did a long time ago gets famous and you can't just go back.
Explain to know!
They came in frm midwestern im frm mideastern
Did they forget their bassist?
♡ 🥹 ♡
I thought Lamos has left the band?
Had the same thought. Surprised to see him.
He came back before the band really did anything else anyway so didnt really mean too much in the end
emo indierock
Midwest emo bruh
Why do midwest drummers know how to play the trumpet/horns? (Mom jeans etc)
Merayakan patah hati 🥹🥹💔💔
That kit too small for Steve 😭
i thought the same. he definitely wants it exactly like this tho. that's his drum kit
@@3xarch I'm pretty sure that's his comfy spot
He just likes to tower over the kit and fucking slam into it, just how he plays
I like but emo is gay
Drummer use dynamics please. It's not a metal band😂
His drumming is perfect for this style of music. just LOOK AT THAT, its so SMOOTH
