It’s crazy that I’m watching this right now in 2022 on RUclips and the date in the bottom says APR 3 1999…. I was born only a few weeks after this was filmed.
This song is so special to me. The feeling it evokes is so consistent and unique, I literally don't feel that certain way when I listen to any other song. It's a weird warmth mixed with melancholy, where it makes me sad and nostalgic, but the chords are so catchy and hypnotic almost. I'm not trying to sound cheesy either, those are just the best adjectives I can think of for it. Craziest part -- I first found this song on a random ass meme of a baby chicken "cracking it's back", it had the opening riff behind it and killed me. 10/10 song, will show my kids.
i got a weird coincidence for yall: april 3rd is my mums birthday, i was born 1999 on november 11 (11/11) when the band starts to play never meant it's 11:11PM
Columbine was 17 days away. It hadn't happened yet. On this day Dillan and Eric were planning and saying their goodbyes to their friends and family. No one had any idea it was coming.
Insane that I'm replying to this on an american football video, but yeah. pretty sure theres a video of Dylan shopping for Eric's birthday around a week later from this video, too.
"I guess you guys aren't ready for that yet, but your kids are gunna love it”
very good.
I love this comment so much
I was there. I'm 43

HA
Whoever randomly thought they'd go along and videotape this gig is a genius for preserving this incredible moment on video for ever....

The fact that this moment is preserved on videotape with the timestamp is almost prophetic
Those people were probably so confused, their kids would love it though
I like hearing early renditions of classics like this where they had slightly different lyrics.
Listen Take On Me 1984 version or even before that Lesson One from 1982… Those will throw you into a loop
