This is my favorite song of Def Leppard. I listened to it every day for hours after school in 1983. I watched MTV all the time just waiting for the video to come on. I wore out 3 cassette tapes and 2 Pyromania CDs. I finally bought Vault, and it's not worn out yet.

Gives me chills watching this, because I remember exactly where I was and what I was doing when I first saw this in early 1983 - rehearsing with a band in a basement with the TV on in the background. During a break the sound was turned up as this video debuted on MTV. I loved it, but our drummer Mike, who was enthralled with punk and new wave at the time, commented "Song sucks, the band sucks, they won't go anywhere." Mike was wrong.

i don't think he's ever sang the ending climax live that goes "i wanna touch you awwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww yeah photograph". that's like the best part of the song.
Rick Beato makes the great point how unusual it is for a song to back off on the chorus by getting sonically quieter by going to the clean channel like this song does. However, it works amazingly well, making the song legendary imho.
Heard this when it hit the streets in '83. I was a senior at a one-highschool east Texas town. My four buddies (we were pranksters called The Dreaded Five) and I were having our last summer together. One was getting married (they're still together after 30 plus years), two going to UT in Austin, and the forth to the Air Force to become a pilot. I was the poor one without a way to escape that town. So many memories come flooding back whenever I hear this. And the thing about it is that I was in love with one of the college-bound buddy's sister. She was 16 and a sophomore and I was 17. Me being from the wrong side of the tracks made it a guarantee it would never happen. I should have tried. Eventuall I made it to Austin and slept on the buddies' couch for six months. During that time she came down with a few girlfriends to hang with some others. At the party I got to pick her up in my arms for a group photo. That was the last time I saw her. Looking at that photograph right now and hearing this song brings a few tears. All of the missed opportunities and careless mistakes over the years also come flooring back. Damn this song😥
"Photograph" was Pyromania's first single, and was also Def Leppard's first single to reach No. 1 in the US Billboard Rock chart. The music video, directed by David Mallet, featured Phil Collen's video debut.

I was in high school from 84 to 88 and Def Leppard was my favorite band for sure! I did not fully appreciate or even know just how much of a huge salute to Marilyn Monroe that this song was. Only recently did I become aware of her amazing contribution to film or even know just how huge of a movie star she had become in her day. This video only makes me love these guys even more than I already did. Def; You guys are the best!!! thank you so much for your music to us all. You rock the house!!!
I was in junior high when this came out. I was already gravitating towards hard/heavy rock - and already a fan of Van Halen - but that cassette copy of Pyromania I bought as a 14yo sealed the deal for me becoming a rocker.
Def Leppard will probably never see this but I’m 11 and they were my main inspiration to learn guitar I’ve been playing for a year now I’m pretty good for a 11 year old thank u Def Leppard and other 80s hair bands for being my inspiration
Thank God everyday that I grew up in the 80's....as good as it damn well gets!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! 80's forever BITCHES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
First time I heard Pyromania was my best friend's brother playing "Too Late For Love," on his guitar, while playing the tape, in 1983/84. I was hooked!!
I’m 11 and my favorite band is Def Leppard. My parents introduced me to it since they grew up listening to it. I especially love this song, I even made a song ID in roblox so me and my friends can listen while playing. 😆
The first Def Leppard song I ever heard and the first video by Def Leppard I have ever seen. Had a friend that always said they sucked, but he "used" to like them. I was hooked the second I heard the riff. Had to have more Def Leppard!
This song is so well done & sung, It has a modern flare to it.. It fits in every decade since it's release. In 2021, it sounds like it was just now released.. Like gosh dang man... The song can go in any era.. It's just so dang good
It's my 1st RUclips comment, pleased that it is for this band n' song. Rob Halford called it "a gr8 melodic moment!" The Leppard were taking a break from writing, they couldn't finish Photograph & ended watching the world cup, Spain 82. Steve was still writing in the other room & he came storming in "I've got it, I've got the bridge!".....(this was for Photograph). I met Phil 3 times & the first time I said to him "Phil im still trying to nail the solo for Photograph," he air guitared back! \m/
40 years. WOW. Still better than 99.9% of shit they make today and call music.

If stranded on an island with only a turntable and a set of speakers, Pyromania is one album that I would choose to bring along.
Kickass song.
I was 7 but i still remember this classic
I get flashbacks of this song whenever I listen to los santos rock radio
A time machine back to 1983. senior year, 3 months away from bootcamp. Ahhh, sweet memories. This song brings back the good memories.
11Stucat lol, first time I heard this was my first night home from Marine Boot Camp. MTV.
Thank you for your service bro!!!
Thanks for your service sir🇺🇸
YOOOOOO thanks for your service my guy!!!🙌
Def Leppard rocked SoFi stadium like it was 1986.🇬🇧🎸
I was in junior high when this came out. I was already gravitating towards hard/heavy rock - and already a fan of Van Halen - but that cassette copy of Pyromania I bought as a 14yo sealed the deal for me becoming a rocker.
Still AWESOME!!!!
Even though this song already is very popular, I would still say it's underrated
I saw them twice, and they were awesome ,the 80s what a decade
Long live Def Leppard.
❤️DEF LEPPARD FIREVERRRR 💙 LOOOVE THIS BAND AT ALMOST 7O 😃 BEAUTY OF HAVING 7Os & 8Os KIDS ❤️ 💙

Def Leppard will probably never see this but I’m 11 and they were my main inspiration to learn guitar I’ve been playing for a year now I’m pretty good for a 11 year old thank u Def Leppard and other 80s hair bands for being my inspiration

When I was a kid, I scratched my arms all up on the road saving this album from being ruined.

I remember hearing this in 1983. I was so surprised to learn they're British, this is such an American style & sound.

just sitting here wishing you x59x were a real part of my life....xx ❤❤
Def Leppard's homage to Marilyn Monroe is one of the great rock songs of the 80s and of all time.
Someone in 2023, listening to this huge massive song by Def's band and pure nostalgia...🔥🤘⚡🙌
I loooooveeee this!!!!!
First time I heard Pyromania was my best friend's brother playing "Too Late For Love," on his guitar, while playing the tape, in 1983/84. I was hooked!!
This really highlighted Steve Clark's Jimmy Page influence. I really like that melodic touch.
I’m 11 and my favorite band is Def Leppard. My parents introduced me to it since they grew up listening to it. I especially love this song, I even made a song ID in roblox so me and my friends can listen while playing. 😆
Glad I'm not the only one listening to this!
I love them so much
Def Leppard was my first concert ever! 1983, I believe!? I was drunk as shit! But I will never forget!! And I still LOVE it!!
The first Def Leppard song I ever heard and the first video by Def Leppard I have ever seen. Had a friend that always said they sucked, but he "used" to like them. I was hooked the second I heard the riff. Had to have more Def Leppard!
Danny Jingu you have never heard pour some sugar on me before
@@orionturovaara2618 or Rocket and Hysteria
It’s 2023 and nothing compares to 80s rock. It was the pinnacle!
I still wear the Union Jack shirt at their shows only!
Now this is British Rock!
Kinda weird seeing Rick Allen play with both arms after seeing some of the resent stuff lol
Besides Hysteria, this is their best song
THE BEST ROCK SONG EVER !!!!!!!
Could be but I love Animal and I want Animal I need Animal
Thank you Los Santos Rock Radio for bring me to this amazing song.
Freaking awesome classic! Still got this album! On cassette of course!✌😎👍
I went to the Def Leppard Concert in Nashville, TN and they performed Photograph. Great Concert!! Great Time!!
This song is so well done & sung,
It has a modern flare to it..
It fits in every decade since it's release.
In 2021, it sounds like it was just now released..
Like gosh dang man...
The song can go in any era..
It's just so dang good
Music is such a nostalgic trip back:)
I so remember running in from school and turning MTV on just to see / watch this video...xx ❤❤
This is my favorite!!!!
Why does 80s music sound nostalgic to me I must of been a teen in the 80s in my past life
First band I ever saw! Long live pyromania !
❤Happy Birthday Rick Savage,54 today,DEF LEPPARD FOREVER❤SHEFFIELD ❤
