Feel it? The breeze blowing through the windows as you cruised through your hometown same as the other 80's teens. This was OUR music. Our time to be wild and free as possible before adulthood got ahold of us. I can still feel the humid summer air, the crisp air in the fall blowing through my permed hair, all a part of your tingling senses as Def Leppard blasted out of your stereo system and you sang with your friends or your significant other...and felt your heart thrum hard with excitement for the moment, for the times we were blessed to be teens in. Nothing like it will ever happen again except when we listen to the songs of our youth. God it was so good. For a little while it was so very good. And every time I listen to the 80's hits...I'm right back there in a heartbeat.
Are you from the mid west? Illinois maybe? What's a real nostalgia blast is moving away from your hometown after HS. Then moving back 20 or 30yrs later. Aside from being one of the most underrated bands from the 70's and 80's, when their drummer lost an arm in an accident they never abandoned him, didn't dump him and get another drummer. They waited for him to relearn how to play with petals and his one arm and IMO you'd never think he could play this well with that handicap. They loved him and waited for him and there isn't many, if any bands that would do that. I love their music and when I learned about their waiting for their drummer to come back it not only made my enjoy their music more, but every member of this band deserves tremendous respect in how they handled an extremely serious situation and made them better.

Can't imagine being on abandoned where everyone is willing to see....def leppard has a hold on me! Look what you've done to this rock n roll crowd!
Wow it totally screwed up my words , can't imagine a band where everyone is willing to sing, I must have been drunk, my apologies!
Me. Still blown away by this song. Absolute perfection
Here every day!
RIP Steve Clark (April 23, 1960 - January 8, 1991), aged 30
You will be remembered as a legend
Repose en paix guitariste virtuose tu est parti jeune
Is it just me, but I still look at Viv as the "new guy" even though he's been in the band longer that Steve Clark was. I miss Steve and the way him and Phil were.
My all time FAVORITE Def Leppard song. I've listened to it at least once every day since I first heard it in 1983. Got the album in March for my birthday. That's 12,833 times and it still gets me pumped up. Music today can't do that. Long live 80's Rock.
Never thought Photograph would be the favorite DL song from a Manowar fan lmao but all 80's Leppard is great.
It is and I love that whole album but this song's harmonies just seem perfect to me. If I had to pick a second favorite it would be Wasted. When I saw them play it live the first time they were much heavier on it. Blew my mind!! They could have struck out with a much more hard sound and been just as famous.
HELL YES
MANOWAR KILLS I remember the day I first herd this song from then it has become my favorite song and that’s saying a lot considering I listen to all 70’s 80’s and 90’s rock and metal
MANOWAR KILLS mine too....favorite song by them that is
I heard this today for the first time instantly caught my attention. Great song!
Rock and Roll Hall of Fame baby!! Congrats 👏🏻
CONGRATULATIONS GUYS!!!!!!! ❤❤❤❤❤👄👄👄👄👄👄😙😙😙💘MICHELLE

2:31 gives me chills every time
Hell yeah whooo
When I first heard it, I was hooked on Def Leopard.
@@vitosciortino3943 Def Leppard
Cunningham, you got a lot to learn... so try to keep up😚
This is genius! I've completely underestimated this band! Ohhhhhh!
I was 14 in 1980 and i genuinely feel sorry for those of you who missed the 80s
3:27 The note he hits after singing "I want to touch you" IS UNREAL, blasting that part in my car gives me goosebumps
Couldn't agree more, I'm in awe at how he can hit the note without passing out. Such an incredible vocalist
Best part! I like the whole video too
Eastmund Caerny agreed! Photograph is one of their best songs! And Pyromania is one of their best albums!
Yes!!!! One of my favorite parts of the song.
There's a lot of reverb and room effect on it... Enhances it even more!!!
Perfectly woven tapestry of the imagery of our youth!
Nicely worded!! Thanks 👍
Are you from the mid west? Illinois maybe? What's a real nostalgia blast is moving away from your hometown after HS. Then moving back 20 or 30yrs later. I'll be 52 in March, it's getting warm enough to take the 1985 Yamaha Xj700 Maxin out for a ride. Took the dirt bike out for a ride today down to the river.
Truer words. Nostalgia is a very real thing.
@@michaelbrinks8089 Nope! The South! Enjoy!
Still super blown away that Rick Allen came back from his accident. What a true rock star.
Rick allen had so much determination to carry on after his accident and still do what he liked doing and hats off to the band for not abandoning him
He pulled himself up by his boot strap(s)
@@roymelton9240 I don’t think joe of all people would do that
And to see him so gracious for his achievements especially when they got inducted into the Hall of Fame. The tears in his eyes tell all! Found a newfound respect for the guy from then on...
In 1985
Love it !!! We need a remastered version of that song !!! 😎😎😎 Love the guitar solo at 2:34
Def Leppard - Photograph is one of my all time Favorite songs period! Bring back the 1980"S!
Yes! Partytime 1984!
The solo is one of my favorites
You got that right man, what a great era it was
Have you heard WigWam In my dreams? Its very same vibe. I wreckon you'll love it
You ain't kidding...I want my M..T...V..😁👍✌️🎸
This song made Def Leppard successful
Remember when rock stars were just rock stars, and didn't scream at you about who to vote for or how to feel about anything?...And they were just AWESOME?!!!...
Fantastic album !! Absolutely Amazing 😍 👏 ❤️
3:29 Goosebumps... every single time... Even after listening to it for almost 40 years now
Pretty much. I can remember where I was and what I was doing the first time I heard this song. That's the power of music. Remember staying up to watch this on "Friday Night Videos"? 🤣🤣
@@TheYobo1016 FNV was a cool format (kind of like a comedy club setting). But I also enjoyed Don Kirshner's Rock Concert and Midnight Special, which preceded FNV. Ah, the good ol' days :)
Me too..
I was really looking for this comment. I knew someone else felt it. Lol
Insane a human being can sing that well
Respect for Rick Allen for still playing drums
Born in 1995 my mom played all the great stuff from poison and Def Leppard and slaughter to cher and Bryan adams she passed away in 2010 when I was 14 got her favorite song lyric every rose has its thorn on my arm and still jam out in her honor❤️
😭😭😭😭😭 fucking rock on baby girl 🤘🤘
❤❤❤❤ohhhh look what you've done...yesss love this..wish I could go back in time to the 80s..I'd never come back!!
Imagine the greatest music in history with no anxiety about cell phones, social media or social instability!! We lived then!!!
Best era ever!
No, just the constant thread of nuclear annhilation. Also lots of social instability?
Oh Yeah! 😊
@@jonathanrussell9733 really? I was in high school/college in the 80’s. If there was any threat, it never touched my life. School, friends, music, parties, and clubs were all I worried or cared about. Best time of all the decades I’ve lived.
How tf does this not even have over 100 million views??It totally deserves it
because most people have a crappy taste in music
😭
What does it matter? Not everything is about views and likes. A world existed before social media.
@Emma Rae I know it doesn't matter...but It's just sad how people rather listen to trash 😔 😪 if you know you then you know!
well, first off, this version was uploaded just 5 years ago, so all those other version on youtube got a ton of views from 2007 or so when youtube came along, so that's over 11 years of views not showing, then there's all the different uploads of it from lyric videos to the previous versions of this that have been removed for copyright - plus a lot listen to streaming services like pandora, and spotify etc etc... it's probably over a half billion streams, if that makes ya feel better. and yes, modern music is easily 2/3 trash lol
They’ve sold over 100 million records worldwide on 12 releases. Pretty damn good
I am 53 years old and I was lucky enough to be the frontman in my band we thought we were going somewhere but we didn't but it was a hell of a ride thank you everyone
Pyromania and High n dry were the peak of Def Leppard, without doubt!😊
50 year old man here who just remembered that this was his favorite song in the fourth grade. Binge watching music videos on RUclips of all of my favorite rock songs in 4th Grade because my mom wouldn’t allow me to watch the music videos on MTV back then. Def Leppard, Quiet Riot++.
My favorite Def Leppard song.
agoodchoiceKAT,butitshouldvebeenaMUCHbiggerhit...
This song STILL ROCKS to this DAY!!!!!!! 😁LOVE IT!!!
Timeless classic that still holds up today. They still put on a killer live show too!
You ain't kidding..A Must see.I saw them in New Jersey off the Parkway..Great I mean Great ..My God..The Chicks were going Crazy..Cool..awesome show👍😁
Spending the weekend listening to bands my little sister loved. She passed away 3 years ago in March and Monday would have been her birthday. Def Leppard was her 2nd favorite band behind Bon Jovi.
Crying watching this at 51 years old. Must have been 12 or 13 when I saw this video on the old knob television. Didn' understand what rock was but I knew this was good shit.
Class of 1990 = turning 18/adulthood, leaving HS & having the 80s decade all come to an end, all at the same time. It made life when you were young really feel like it had just drastically changed for you.
Pathetic
I got to be a kid durning the 80’s! Each year was great! 80-89 rock on baby rock on!
wasnt the 80s a non stop party!?? all the great music we had, still sounds great after all these years.
One of the best rock heavy metal bands out there
Watched this premiere on MTV when I was 12.
Fell in love with the song and those Chrome Ludwig drums.
Now I have my own recreation of them that I get to play along to their songs on…
This is one of those songs THAT JUST NEVER GETS OLD. Great hook, vocals, guitar solo, it has it ALL.
Man. I miss rock n roll. Today’s music doesn’t compare. This video takes me back to my childhood watching MTV all day!!!
i wish i grew up in that time it looked really fun and people not being sensitive like today
When this song plays in GTA V you don't get out
This music is legit my favorite song on GTA V
@Icekitty YT no I do it as well
@@tnk_divorce9594 True, i always listen to this song while having a 5 wanted level lol
absolutely
Yea in LOOOS SANTOOSSS ROCKKK RADDİİOOOO
British metal one of the most melodic and heavy in the world! 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Guns N Roses are from usa and there good!! Guns N Roses and Def Leppard are the best bands!!
Man, this takes me back!! When Pyromania came out, they took the world by storm! Still have my original Pyromania and High N Dry on Vinyl. Joe was one HELL of a singer then!
Facts! Very well said
On what planet are they underrated ? They are one of the most famous 80s rock bands? One of only two NWOBHM bands around today
@@paulmcgrath6118 are you trying to say they're as well known and listened to as Led Zeppelin?!? It's cool you love their music as much as I do, and I live on this planet.
@@djs3484 hello , not looking to start an argument with you 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻, I’m a big fan , in fact my nine year old daughter went to see them in Sheffield a few weeks ago and got two plectrums from motley crue and one from def leppard ! I didn’t mean to sound rude or condescending, you’ve great taste in music !!!have a great day
They already knew, what inclusion means, when it just wasn't more than a word. My own experiences with inclusion at school were really bad...
When Joe sings, “done”…… on that “look what you’ve, done”……bit on the pre-chorus. It still strikes a chord in me, every….single….time, I hear it. It’s one of those feelings from my childhood that I’ve never let go of……and I hope, I never do!
Stay out of my yard though...
Best MTV video EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Joe’s vocals at 3:30 still amazes me today
The hook for me is 1:44
I was born in 78, but I had 2 awesome teen uncles and there music tastes raised me through the 80s. I'm still stuck there and always will be.
This is my favorite Def Leppard song!!!
Same
Same
I first heard this song on gta 5
The best bridge in a song. Oh, look what you've done to this rock n' roll clown
Oh-oh, look what you've done
One of the catchiest songs ever. Electrifying.
I’m a huge fan of Def Leppard and Iron Maiden!
These guys rock!
Lately I've seen lots of people wearing Def Leppard t-shirts in my place like an epidemic situation. I'm so happy. Talent reaching generations through time.
Same, yesterday I saw a teen, prob 14 years old wearing a jean jacket saying def leppard on it, then a month later I noticed 10 kids in the same park wearing it, too!
Phantom Asia new not the same though. Without Steve clark forget it. However, they left the "rock of ages" legacy. Hope the youth can find it.
Phantom Asia great 👍
People nowadays are also wearing band t-shirt for bands they've heard of before. So it could be that as well :P
yup....and we were _there_ when it went down! 🎸🎸📢👍
Am typing this from Southern California. As someone who's here for the very final time in life - the appreciation for classic Hollywood the way it should be celebrated .. this video is an amazing look at Norma Jean Baker. I love Def Leppard's perspective of MM having the last laugh. And that's how I remember her, in the town of Hollywood, CA.
Одна из самых любимых песен!
Люблю 80'е из-за крутой музыки и потрясающей атмосферы
this song is all hook.... everything about this is just so spot on, there is not a second of fluff
great band + great song + mutt lange = undeniable
Totally... the meticulousness of the production is off-chart. Painstaking attention to detail.
Mutt Lange got the most out of these guys! That guy has a special magic to get the most out of a band, while making it so polished and well produced. Listen to Back in Black (AC/DC). A raw band with a super produced high quality sound. The same goes for Pyromania. Layer upon layer upon layer. Perfect timing...
@@bigcatkim "a special magic" is right.... for a while there mutt was unstoppable.
not only was he a great producer technically... but the guy knew how to spot a tune, write a tune, and bring out the best in it.
look at his work with shania twain and bryan adams.... just hit after perfectly produced hit.
@@bigcatkim You're damn right. Mutt produced The Cars' "Magic" and "You Might Think" as well. Golden ears!
To all of those who DIDN'T grow up in the 80's, I offer you my DEEPEST SYMPATHIES and CONDOLENCES !!!
... you simply have NO idea as to what you missed!
Amen❤ Which is why you can see Gen Z turn out the way they did
Indeed!!
Hell yeah !!! My best years
Why? they're still around! 😂😂😂
1983 was 8th grade for me
Glad the 80,s was my year.def leppard still my favourite band and here they are still together.still touring.sheffield was amazing .❤
God. Damn. That is one excellent song. Joe Elliott can SING!!! And the rest of the band is just as brilliant. Love!
Hello Tassie ☺
This is the definition of classic rock
This is truly one of the greatest songs of all-time and reminds me of the Golden age of MTV.
Rick Allen is the best drummer ever, hes a legend 👌 such an inspiration to many, keep rocking Rick we love you ♥️♥️
I remember being 13 years old and hearing this on the radio and playing air guitar to it and next year this song will be 40 years old unbelievable!
me too but I was 8 years old and been a fan since
@@ur_favone I would watch this video and their other videos on Night Tracks on TBS and later on MTV, those were the days.
And today is pyromania’s 40th anniversary. One of the best albums in rock history!
