    Great story Steph, very insightful!
    Me, I'm already 31, and even though I've got enough savings to last me for quite a few years (basically FU money), I still feel as if I've never even gotten close to the level of success in my career so that I could justify a sabbatical, not to mention retiring.
    I remember a few years back I took a 4 month break in between jobs and it felt AMAZING. I got to sleep more, I got back in shape, I went travelling, I took care of my mom who was in the hospital at that time, I had time to learn new skills and in general I felt great.
    But having no other income than my salary (for basically most of my life) I felt that I was missing out on all the money I could have made. Maybe I could have gotten a promotion or a bonus, or maybe I could have changed careers and gotten into something that pays better.
    There was always that voice in the back of my mind telling me that I'm not being productive, and I never really got rid of it.
    So here I am, two burnouts later, just pushing on, hoping things will change...
    Who knows, maybe Universal Basic income will actually become a thing and I can finally pursue the little things in life.

    I have recently seen that at 30 we are at our testosterone peak and I think you said it in one of your videos about mental agility too. Very interesting retrospectives. Thank you for sharing Stefan. If you had to choose an industry that had the best rate of success based on the demand for such a product/service and low entrance barrier from a financial standpoint, would it be tech or another industry?

    • @StefanMischook
      @StefanMischook  2 года назад +1

      Hmm ... I think tech in general is still the best place to be, because there is still a huge amount of room for growth. That said, you have to pick your niche because some areas are pretty much dominated. So for example, I would NOT get into the operated system business because Microsoft, Apple and Google pretty much have that wrapped up. I would not get into the browser making business for the same reasons ... But there is still room in e-commerce, Ai and other areas of specialization.

    I know this is a year later but, did you have one of the three MPNs? If so, what made you figure out you had it? Did it come up from a random scan? I could be wrong in my assumption but, I was just curious if it was that as I believe (I'm 23) I have polycythemia Vera and was curious about if you had thrombocythemia if that isn't too personal a question. Thanks.

  • @toddboothbee1361
    @toddboothbee1361 3 года назад +1

    Regret is funny because it's rooted in the illusion that we somehow stand outside our lives and selves, and that we could have chosen to be other than what we were. I'm not saying you're in regret, but it is a common plague as we get older. You're talking about a possible misstep when it comes to building greater wealth, using more money as an accepted good in that example. The regret of "if I only knew then what I know now" fuels the power of time travel films, the wish to correct the younger self. But I suspect many of us already know we're courting regret, know we should be saving for retirement, or be kinder to our family, or not take drugs, etc., but, by god, we do it anyway. Why? There seems to be a discrepancy between who we think we are and what we really are.

    omg coffee friend making app: meet random people every morning to get coffee with - have coffee for 20 minutes like them? be friends. Don't like them? ha well at least you were not alone.
    Incentive for the people if you come the two of you, you get a discount at the coffee shop, incentive for the coffee shop well you get customers.
    Well it's covid times so maybe not such a good idea right now or maybe it is, with having to book everything everywhere you go.
