Watching this 11 years later and the videoing then is better than today.
best damn fourwheeler carb video! gotta watch 50 crappy ones to find one worth a dang! great vid
D-Ray, I've watched dozens of carb videos and yours is by far the best!!! Great camera work, awesome instruction, no "extra" BS. Thanks much from California!
Here in Mississippi and Just cleaned my 1990 carb with this video! Thanks!!!
Hands down the best video I've watched on carburetor rebuild for the Honda Fourtrax. Great job at explaining everything and being so detailed.
I’ve watched several of D Rays videos and he is the BEST ! Clear, concise and professional. Thanks for all the help!
one of the best "how to" video's EVER!! Thank you D-Ray!!
this is probably the best instructional video I have seen concerning atv repair. thanks for taking the time to do this. I am fixing to tackle my Honda in the next few days and this is what I was looking for!!!
i rebuilt my 1998 trx 300 carb while watching your videos. Very useful information. Thanks a bunch!
Many thanks D Ray I followed your 3 videos and hey presto my 300 flashed up into life after two long weeks of this and two other problems! Brilliantly filmed and awesome talk through for all stages...you da man D Ray 👍
You are awesome D-Ray !!! Thank you very much. You took all the BS out of trying to find the right information on an good old product (mine a 1999) without wasted time and aggravation. A real pro with simple straight forward information and a very likable personality. If you ever come to Nova Scotia or Newfoundland, I will give you a complimentary helicopter flight.
You know how long I've been searching for videos on these carbs and quads? 3 years too long and here's the channel I needed 😂. Now I wish I wouldn't have sold my old quads
I just completely disassembled and reassembled my first carburetor and it runs like brand new...all because of this video! You are awesome and saved me $300 from previous Honda service shops. Thank you so much for what you do! 1998 Honda TRX300...
So, I'm 14 bought an old Honda 300 1989, have a basic idea on how to clean a carb but I don't know how to do it properly, and your 3 short videos were exactly what I was looking for. Now i know exactly what I need to do to get it running right. Keep up the good work and good videos they're very helpful.
First timer got the carb rebuilt on my 2000 Foreman! Took 2 tries, but w you looking over my shoulder it worked just like in your videos.
Thanks D-Ray! Great stuff!
Absolutely fantastic video series. I have the exact same Honda, wasn't getting fuel and had to take apart the carb. Turns out the vacuum pump diaphragm had ruptured! Ordered an OEM replacement and slapped it in, started up great. Your video really helped me get familiar and do the whole process more confidently as I'm pretty new to engine repairs. Thank you!!
Great job on the video D-Jay. Great job explaining everything step by step. Now I have no reason to be intimidated by rebuilding my carb. on my 2002 Honda 350!! Keep up the great job your doing for us newbies!! :)
Awesome three part series. Easy to follow instructions and my god that zoom!
Thanks.
Great instruction! Saved $$$, not to mention the frustration of having a machine that just wasn't running "right". Also made rebuilding a carb a little "less intimidating"... Thank you D-Ray!
I thought this series of videos was very good. Step-by-step and walked me through what was a first carburetor rebuild for me. Thanks!
This video was by far one of the best. You explain everything so well. This was very helpful. Thank you very much DRay!
d-Ray, thank you very much. I bought a couple of kawaski 250's a few months back and have not been able to get one of them running. I figured it needed a carb kit or to be cleaned up. Never done that before, so I watched your three part series on the Honda 300 you did. Sure enough the float was stuck shut, lots of varnish, and closed jets. I followed your instructions. Awesome for even this beginner. Second kick and the bike started right up. Thank You very much. I enjoyed learning.
Hi D-Ray over the weekend I rebuild my carb on my 2000 Honda Rancher Es I did not use the rebuild kit you showed on your video this lead to some problem with the operation of my float valve but over all thanks for all you show on how to rebuild a carb on youtube I never did this before and I went step by step and it worked out great nothing is more rewarding than a good out come when you have attempt to make any repair.
PS this rebuild also gave me a much better throttle response more power.
thanks again
Hank Dixon
Awesome D-Ray! One of the best You Tube tutorials I've viewed.
I can not express in strong enough terms how much I enjoyed the videos. Ray gave me great confidence and the Fourtrax is running great. When I bought the 4 wheeler it would only run with the choke on so I felt like a plugged up carb was the problem. The original carb had been replaced with a Chinese unit but the owner still had the original so I rebuilt the original. Great success, runs great and is way more powerful than I imagined it would be. Thank you Ray, I'll be tuning in for more help!
I was a little nervous when considering a carburetor rebuild but these are some of the best instructional videos on any topic I have seen on RUclips. Excellent job!!

Thanks D-Ray....just did my carb on a 94 TRX300 and your videos were very helpful.
Your step by step videos were a great help, even for a veteran automobile mechanic like myself.
One of the very best carb overhaul videos I’ve seen. Thank you for the great instructional video
Got my Honda to idle better because of this video. No more dying out on me when I get off of it real quick to do something. Good work my man
What a great series of videos! Because of your videos I decided not taking my Honda Foreman ES to the shop and do it myself. Wish me luck! Mahalo (Thank you) D-Ray Smith.
Thank you for taking the time to put this together. Extremely helpful. 95 Honda Fourtrax 300.
Best instructional ever. Went step by step and never had a problem. Thanks man.
Got my 2004 Honda Rancher running like new after sitting with bad gas for a couple years. Thanks for the videos!
You're one of the best resources on the net, thanks man.
Best carb video series out there. Really high quality
Great informative video. I managed to get my Fourtrax 300 carb cleaned and working again. Thanks from Somerset in the UK
Hello and many greetings from Germany. Thank you for this video. So I was able to get my Honda to drive again. It jumped after cleaning the nozzles, I didn't have any new ones, immediately on impact. keep it up and thanks again. tommy
D-Ray, an excellent video in every respect, your clear speech, camera work, light, and your very complete knowlwdge. next time give attention to the spring loaded in the vacuum plunger.
Many thanks, Bill Riggan Virginia
Just replaced the carb, spark plug & air filter on one that's been sitting for around 15 years & it runs amazingly well...fires straight up & runs great!
Thanks for the video , was very helpful and saved me money. Probably the best video I have found on the rebuild.

Thanks, D-Ray! Great job. My 1996 seems to be exactly like the one in your video. I appreciate the fact that you don't have an accent.
It's amazing how little they change things like that
That's the exact carb that's on my 2004 Rubicon, less a few electronic outlets.
Your videos have been a tremendous help, thank you so much!
Yo D-Ray....I just revived my 3fitty foreman thanks to your detailed video. I am not a mechanic by a long shot but thanks to you I can rebuild an atv carb! Way to take your time and actually help us instead of tooting your horn. A three part video tutor is a great idea to have plenty of time to explain to us newbies, plus it makes it so easy to go back and find your place again. Next up, I just happen to have a 300 fourtrax that is about to get a carb rebuild. For real D-Ray, thank you sir.
I have a twx300 and just rebuild my carb, With his video it was a piece of CAKE .......
What a mechanic!!!! Brilliantly explained,Thank you so much.
You and the Four Wheeler Doctor are the best on RUclips for these howto's!!!!!!
Gobbless Thabk you so much for taking the time to make this video!!!
You make it an easy fix and I like the personality. Thanks from Mississippi
After Messing with knock off carburetors I broke down and bought me a good replacement carburetor for my 03 Rancher. I installed it with no problem but it runs real rough like it’s pretty rich. After watching this video I believe I know how to adjust the mixture and get like I want it Mine too was sitting up for many years. It was very good before it set up. Then I had the awfullest (my dad’s word) time keeping it running. On the fourth try with the third carburetor I figured out it wasn’t the tank or the gas. it was the sorry knock off carburetor.
Thanks for sharing this is exactly what I need to fix my Rancher.
One of the best videos I have watched! Thanks
man thank you, thankyou, thank you, these honda's are bullet proof but this gas whe have to use is awful.watched your video and i could have never done it without you.you saved me a couple hundred bucks thanks again

Thank you very much for the detailed explanation.
Já this guy is awesome He really knows what he is doing!!
Very best video out there, EXCELLENT JOB!!!
Those "snorkel" connections on the 2nd gen can be a blank to get back in
Absolutely! I have a 93 and it's all one piece.
Just put mine back in and it was the WORST. Hard rigid plastic and just an absolute pain. The rest of the reassembly was like buttah!
Wow! Yes! One of the best!
sooooooooooooooooooooooo helpful!!!!!!!!!! thanks. excellent camera work as well
Great job, D-Ray!
Absolutely amazing. Thank you.
Very good info, excellent video.
Thank you D-Ray!
You did a great job on the video!
Man, after searching the web for good "how-to" information on TRX300's and decided to give RUclips a try. I found this three part series which covered EVERYTHING I need to do on my wife's '97 which has sat for over 5 years. Our tank is very rusted and I'm gonna try a few remedies instead replacing it. Also (don't hold this against me) I went to high school in Augusta but I'm back in my home state, Louisiana (don't hold that against me either LMAO)
Honda 300 is a great machine! Great video!
Hey D-Ray, great video. Thanks a lot. Phil Atkinson
there are a few special tools needed to remove and install some of the bearings, and pinion gear. I would recommend having a dealer look at it. Since the housing is alumimum, it is easy to destroy it trying to remove the old bearings, so be careful.
Beyond a doubt, the best repair video ever!! Only way it gets any better is if D-Ray jumps out of the screen and fixes my carb himself :)
Ray you explain yourself better than any one I have ever watched on you tube. You should consider a career as an instructor.
