Montreal :: Air Canada Express Dash 8 Q400 take off

  • Take off seen from seat 9F as we departed from Montreal Pierre-Elliot Trudeau. The take off took place on runway 6R after de-icing on January 3rd. We flew from Montreal (YUL) to Toronto Billy Bishop airport (YTV).

    For a weird reason the modern propellers plane sound like a jet or have a turbo

      It's because they do. they're literally called turboprops

      That would be because turboprop aircraft like the Dash 8 use a gas turbine engine to drive the propeller instead of a piston engine. It literally has a jet engine that turns the prop.

    Hello what seat were you in? I have an upcoming journey and the second leg involves this aircraft type and I want the seat closest to the prop :D
    [edit] never mind, I just read the description again and *duh*
    how do you like this compared to the older Dash 8-300's that Jazz flies on short routes?

      Well the older Dash 8 is, well, older inside, louder, and significantly slower and shorter. The Q400 shares the same interior as the new CRJs.
