Hey, as a thank you to you for this video I'm taking a minute to help you fix your chair. Take a second at the END of your next painting day, flip that chair over, drop some cooking oil or baby oil/ mineral oil onto the ALL the parts where metal touches metal or wood! LEAVE it overnight & walk away for the night. Next time you come in bring a rag or towel n' toss that onto your floor & flip the chair right side up _onto_ the towel to catch any drips. She _should_ stop creaking for ya. IF you have any foam board pieces kicking around you can use that to wedge in-between the chair & the part that's noisey to help soften up the squeeks too. Yes! this trick also works for doors, cabinets & large lazy boy chairs (Dad's old beast). A bar of soap does old sticky, squeaky drawers though, not oil. Best of luck! 🍀🤞
I'm currently in the 'research & practice everyday' phase, of my own personal "dream project". I was gifted a 3' X 5' (or 92cm X 152cm) Thick, gold frame complete with the glass & framing anchors inside! This IS what started the idea for my ultimate 'dream project'.... this is as far as I've gotten, seeing as she's actually pretty overwhelming tbh. WHY do I do this to myself? 😂
_Should_ I just continue to painting faces, all of the time _everyday,_ from all angles? How does one go about painting in a certain era, say the renaissance era for example? Should I just jump on in & DO it on repeat or?? Think I'm gonna start by binging your channel & a few others 1st. 🤔
Thank you, so much for _all_ of your helpful painting tips, hints & tricks! See you soon... you know cause I'm about to press start on another one of your videos. 😂😂
Thank you, Matt. Your videos are always very helpful, and I appreciate that you get right to the point. Blessings to you and yours. Prayers for your wife's speedy recovery.
Thank you!! It took me a while to learn that I needed to get the point faster. :) I know I appreciate that when I search RUclips for different things. Thank you for your prayers!
Wow, Matt, I'm impressed! That is quite an undertaking and you are doing such a great job. Thank you for the "Fix Muddy Skin Tones' PDF Guide. It will come in handy when I paint portraits. I hope your wife is doing better. 🙏
Thanks for the kind words!
This is very helpful. I have a bad habit of painting 'too heavy'. Time limits make a person tend to try to hurry. And all that happens is deep frustration. I think I must have missed your video on how to prep a piece of hardboard. I did catch the one on how to make canvas more smooth. Hardboard is golden for most work however. Thank you for another good tutorial. God's Blessings!.
Much appreciated!!!
Tyvm!! U rock! God bless u
❤❤❤❤ love this , now I can paint miniature portraits, you are incredible teacher ❤❤❤❤❤
Thank you so much for the enthusiastic encouragement!! Yes you can. :)
This is super helpful! I’ve been struggling for just a bit trying to paint this one little tiny face, but this video helped a lot! 😊
Glad this has helped you!
Fabulous tips. Would love an artist retreat with techniques
I’ll keep this in mind!
Hello. Thank you so much.I tried to sketch with pencil face's shadows and details, then I added acrilic layers of colours using water to make it fluid...but bad result...every new layer cover the layer before...no transparency...My pencil shadows melt , paint become darker and cover the pencil portrait...how to make the black and white portrait in pencil and add transparent layers of acrilic colours tones on it?
Hi Matt can you elaborate on the hard board panel please? Any recommendation? Thanks
Hardboard panel is great for paintings with a lot of detail in small spaces. Otherwise, canvas texture tends to get in the way. You can purchase pre-primed hard board panels at your local art store. Or you can buy 1/8” thick 4’x 4’ or 4’ x 8’ unprimed hard board at your local home-improvement store, cut to size and prime yourself. It’s very inexpensive when you do it this way, however, you have to invest more time to prepare the surface.
@@fineartbymattphilleo Thank you so much. I really enjoy your videos!
Thank you Matt! Your work is beautiful! May I ask which brush you're using?
You bet! A "0" round synthetic brush.
The link won’t let me get the PDF 😭
I’m sorry to hear that! Please email me and I’ll send it to you.
