A few weeks ago at the FAST museum at farnborough, i saw the first stage from the first (and only) successful orbital launch of black arrow, it was recovered from the australian desert in quite good condition. The nozzles are crushed a little but the turbo pumps are still in perfect shape!
IRL the DH108 was a deathtrap with all 3 of them being lost in fatal crashes while the third De Haviland was Peter and their Cousin Olivier was a multiple Oscar-winning actress who died in 2020 at the age of 104 and is probably most famous for her role in Gone With the Wind

This is an excellent addition to "for all kerbalkind". I can recommend you to read "The Ministry of Space" comic if you want to see a UK space program in an alternate history.
Very nice. Really wish some mods gave the British HTP engines some love - being able to specify which combustion chambers and how many would really open up the options for a whole family of rockets in that style and design ancestry. If only I were remotely capable of engine modding myself, lol.
That absolutely is an EE Lightning with a Gamma 4 rocket on its wing :P I've been playing around with making the Lightning an X-Plane and this was one method of doing that haha

I definitely do want to pay the Moon some attention, but for the most part I think I'll leave the Soviets and the US fight over it and maybe focus on more interplanetary missions, not completely decided the direction I'll go in yet, will see further down the line!

I'm wondering whether you'll stick early on with ESA's historical focus on uncrewed, scientific missions and Ariane's commercial mission capabilities (not sure how viable that will be to try and get into the Mars race). I will also admit to hoping we'll get to hear you voicing the traditional "A tous de DDO, attention pour le décompte final" when you first launch from Kourou ;) Bonne chance !

Afaik now though, there was definitely no full success of Europa, which is why Ariane then went ahead. I'll have to actually look into it a bit more :P

Every rocket you launched had a K in it. The plane was the only thing without a K. The British space agency had good names for their rockets

The third de Havilland brother was named John, and he died in 1943 while test flying a Mosquito Mk VI

How long does it take you to load the game? With my slow 8gb ram and 80+ mods (~50,000 patches) it takes 20-30min to load
hmmm around 8-15 minutes, I'm not entirely sure an exact time but its not terrible, but not the best either!
