Your layouts are really something special, they have a tremendous amount of character to them. It's more of a scene than just a railway and it's really quite wonderful.
gilesengineer Ah, thank you! O scale really is a great scale to work in, as it's big enough for radio controlled vehicles and sound in most locos, but small enough to fit in a decent space.
Hi Giles, I didn't know this was one of your layouts too - superb work - glad I found it. I liked this version of Rhapsody in Blue, reminds me of my old guitar tutor!
Hi Giles - awesome, I'll see you on the 29th! I have to agree about Chris N too - one of the biggest problems with Railway Modeller IMHO is the often badly lit, sub-standard photos The photography in Model Rail (Chris N or otherwise) always pops and is super-crisp. Looking forward to seeing the layout and some of your standard gauge locos in action too! Christian
Again totally outstanding... only a true craftsman and artist can have the confidence to make a video with that definition and such slow running,,, I can only come up with one criticism,,,, and this could well be a first and test your engineering ingenuity,,, when the driver reverses around the loop his head should turn to look where he is going,,,,,, (But seeing as you posted this in 2011 I bet the driver probably jumps out and strokes the cat,,,,, ) Stunning totally stunning,,,,
Hi Giles- just wanted to say awesome layout and congrats on being featured in MR! I'm working on a 7mm minimum gauge layout and it's great to see some inspiration in the mainstream press. Great to see it in motion too, beautiful slow running. Do you exhibit the layout often? I'm visiting Expo NG next week and I'm sure The Loop would fit in perfectly!
Hi Giles - I made it to ExpoNG but wasn't able to get very close to the layout due to all the attention it was getting! i had to leave early but just to say the layout looked great in the flesh and hope to see it again at some point. Christian
@Moronguhl Hi, The Loop will be at ExpoNG - so come and say Hello! I look forward to seeing you! It will only be its second exhibition, with Rochdale on the 5th Nov being its 3rd outing so we'll see if we get any more invites! All the best, Giles p.s. you've GOT to have the slow running..... and Model Railways have been great throughout, really nice, Chris N.'s brilliant photography....
What a beautiful layout built to perfection and we won’t let the bad choice music spoil it, congratulations on your modelling skills.

That's extremely kind of you to say so!
