Good toughness from Elnawasany. Not letting yourself be intimidated when facing these top players is key to joining them in the future

Elnawasani has a great potential, but he might needs to reduce some weight to be on next level!

for all the 'efforts' by the PSA new rulings to 'make' players play through interference, the last 'stroke' here is perhaps the most staged form of a 'stroke' there is & the fact that it is STILL being given as a 'stroke' begs the question; why change the ruling on other scenarios where there is often the actual danger of hitting the other player and/or not being able to complete the intended shot by the incoming striker?
Consistency has always been the key, especially in refereeing for a sport like Squash, in which the referee is way more involved than any other racquet sport - so it's time to be consistent across the board with these interpretations. These aren't friendly Club matches, these guys make a living via this sport and that too for a very defined period of their lives - the fact that many close matches are decided on contentious calls needs to be addressed in the name of fairness

Hard to tell the exact spacing from one camera angle, but that looks like a totally natural racquet preparation from Ibrahim to hit that ball, and it definitely looks like Elnawasany might be close enough to his back swing for their to be an actual danger of hitting him. I'm not sure why you are so sure there wasn't. The fact that Elnawasany accepts it, to his credit, seems to indicate that he thought it was the right call, or at least not a bad call.

Don’t forget you are watching the entire court and position of both players. Ibrahim is watching the ball at the front coming fast to the centre back, he can sense his opponent is there but it’s not an easy call for Ibrahim to make in that nanosecond to just strike at the ball without risking hitting his opponent on the windup. It was a bad shot as well. Clear cut stroke for 99% of people watching.

@@georgekrumm1857 read it again please, I mention such situations coming into play again and again - I don't disagree with the ruling, I'm pointing out the inconsistencies in the refereeing - many players are made to play shots from a lot more 'endangering' and interference-laden situations - hence the point that was forwarded
