i love how pts can see a patient two times a week for couple months, see the progress of hard work and motivation, and have the patient discharged not as a patient but in a more intimate friendly relationship. thats the difference for me. doctors, dentists, pa, etc. they help people yes, but pts, ots, and a select other healthcare jobs actually guide and help grow peoples body mentally emotionally, and physically. its awesome
Love your videos man! I just got accepted into PA school for this upcoming year. Both PA and PT are excellent careers and getting accepted into either fields is an amazing choice.
I love being a physical therapist. I went through the same process of deciding. I was trying to decide between becoming a medical doctor or a physical therapist 30 years ago! So thankful I decided on PT! I look forward to going to work each day😊! PT is not for everyone though.
Hello sir! First year PA student here. With regards to tattoos, I've actually found hospitals to be more accepting of tattoos. When I did my PCE in an outpatient setting, I had to take off my earrings (I'm male) and I had to cover my tattoos. When I worked in the hospital, so many providers, nurses, and other staff had tattoos. I even remember seeing a physician that was fully sleeved up. I just don't want those who watch this to get misinformed that tattoos aren't accepted in the hospital setting. From my experience, they are more accepted in hospitals vs outpatient settings. Great video!
Thank you for your input! This is actually very helpful to know what it is like in the hospital settings these days. I feel like healthcare culture is rapidly changing and you for sure see a lot more tattoos and piercings on both male and female providers. I appreciate you sharing! Good luck finishing PA school!
Really good comparison! It depends on what’s the individual career focus as you stated. For me it’s that fulfillment of helping someone with conservative care accomplish their goals. Thanks for that bro 😊
@@drjustinleedpt I am able to do either pt or pa. I’m interested in both actually, but I have to pick one and which ever one I pick is going to be my career for the future . So I’m worried I will regret not picking one later .
I'm on the fence. I just started working as a PT Aide, but can also work as a Medical Assistant. Would love to do PT, but I'm lacking one pre-requiste and thats physics. I'm dreading taking it. All the PT's at work went to USC and 2 PT Aides will start there in the fall. I looked at tuition and its $200,000 for the 3 yrs. That is crazy.
Hey Dr. Lee, found your channel and loved your videos because it helped me choose my future career. Current a sports kinetics major in the Caribbean, is it possible for me to do PT?
I’ve been enjoying your videos.. I have always wanted to do PTA or PT but I have a good government job and I am retiring in under 10 years.. I am 44 years old.. would it be worth it to do PTA part time after retirement??
I think PTA can be a good choice after retirement. But it is also a somewhat physical job. So if you are not physically healthy, it will be hard to do a lot of things. Like you’re not just sitting around.
@@drjustinleedpt I workout daily and enjoy everything that has to do with fitness and I want to stay busy doing what I enjoy doing after retirement.. thank you for your input..
I’m a doctor in another country and I want to become physical therapist in USA as an specialty in medical field. Is it hard? Do I have to take Usmle? (I hope someone can answer my questions 🥲)
They’re doctors of physical therapy and PTA’s are not. Just like PA’s are not doctors. But if anyone actually bashes someone for using/having that title or not, that’s just pathetic

I completely agree with you! This was the biggest tipping point for me to choose physical therapy over any other career

Happy to hear that Jake! Congrats on your acceptance and for a great future career choice!
Thank you!!! I was between those two since I am a paramedic I wanted PA but I'm done with the stress.

Yeah I’ve noticed that hospitals in New York are loaded with tattooed health care providers

Yessss!!! Conservative care is everything. Love it!
Love this will def share with anyone who is contemplating PT or PA route !!
Thank you for thinking of me! ❤️
Fantastic video, I wish more people can see this.
I’m here cos I’m pretty torn between PA and PT school .. it is stressing me out
What are you most stressed about?

have you done any shadowing?
I think it will come down to what do you believe in practicing? Medicine or natural conservative care

As a PT. I would rather be independent

how is it that PAs make more than the PTs themselves? Lol
DPTs calling themselves Dr is so cringe. just put the PT, DPT behind your signature and be chill
LOL they are already doctors

Why so triggered? 😂
Physician assistants are not a thing in Ontario, Canada..Kind of pointless video for us in the north
Sorry that this didn’t resonate with your Kevin from Canada
They literally exist in Canada.
No one cares about your Marxist, communist waste-of-space country 😂
