I had the same tire combo and loved them because they’re so sticky but turns out I almost exclusively do street riding so they wear out too fast (only have 2k on the bike and the front was badly worn, rear was ok-ish).. I went to a 50/50 with the kenda 270’s front and rear. I don’t “hate” them, but they definitely do not feel smooth like the mt21/606 combo was. The front is noticeably bumpy and I’m hoping it’s just a break in period but it’s been almost 100 miles and it’s still there 😢
The previous owner had those tires on the bike. It is a great combo for 50/50 riding, but they don't seem to last very long. I have a pair of Shinko 244's that I'm going to try next as I mostly ride mixed street and dirt roads on this bike. I like the TKC80 front/Shinko 705 rear combo on my CB500X, but that mostly does street duty now.
What I really wanted to ask is do you have a heat shield on the q4 for those saddle bags? I just bought some Nelson Riggs and seems like they sit wayyy to close even after trying to adjust them away from it. Just trying to figure out what style shield I need to get. And/or if they all work the same?
Yes, I have two heat shields on the muffler. One forward of the mount and one aft. I think most of them are designed the same way. One is a Giant Loop and the other I'm not sure, but it basically is the same thing. I put my spare tubes on the other side of the bike, and mostly carry tools or other items that I'm not concerned about getting hot on the muffler side. If you are concerned about the bag, get a small sheet of 1/16" silicon from Amazon and use high-temp RTV gasket maker to attach some on top of the heat shields. I was concerned about my bag as well, but this setup seems to work fine. I don't leave the bike idling when it is hot though. Also make sure the nylon straps aren't loose enough to touch the exhaust pipe.

What map did you use for your PC? Did you do the flap mod and air filter as well?
I'm using the FMF full exhaust map. I did the full airbox mod, but I've not heard of an air filter mod.
