- Footage appears to show the first known use of US-supplied HIMARS missiles by Ukraine hitting a key military target inside Russia.
An S-300 or S-400 air defence system - which has been used to pound Kharkiv where Vladimir Putin’s forces have struck multiple civilian targets - was destroyed.
This follows Joe Biden giving limited permission for the use of American missiles by Kyiv on targets inside Russian territory in a bid to stem the debilitating strikes on Kharkiv, Ukraine’s second city.

Ukraine has the right to defend itself (and has done so since the start of the war, also against targets in Russia proper). But is has no right to get western weapons delivered, and in case they are delivered, strings may be attached.

That's very true and has been since 1990 when the communist goverment began eating itself. The in-fighting broke all cohesion within the establishment and mayhem ensued, followed shortly thereafter by the collapse of the Soviet Union. I have additional insight into what happened around that time, as my ex father in law was invited in 1990 to go to Lithuania to teach lithography in their universities. He brought back unimaginable tales of woe. These details were added to eight years later when I met a Lithuanian woman. Over the 4 years we spent together I learned a lot about the Soviet communist system - none of it good.

I’m Russian American. Also have some Ukrainian blood. My Russian grandparents lived in Odesa and Kiev. This war is being kept funded by the United States in the 100s of billions. Ukraine is smashed and well over a million Ukrainian and Russian soldiers are dead combined. And yet the invaded territories are Ukrainian. Many countries have areas that are majority one ethnicity, Bradford, Burnley have large Indian and Pakistani populations for example. The Crimea and Donbas are Ukrainian, we in the West fully understand little Putins objectives.

Ukraine absolutely will not give up. As for the United States’ “funding”, the US government is NOT sending cash. Most of the “money” is in the value of the weapons being sent.
“More than a million Ukrainian and Russian soldiers are dead combined”. FALSE. It is true that russia has lost over a half million soldiers, but Ukraine’s losses are FAR LESS than russia’s. Why? Two reasons. First, russia is the invading army, and the invading army typically loses 3 to 5x what the defending army does. That is just a fact of war. Second, the russians have been using EXTREMELY inefficient battle tactics to gain small pieces of ground. And here, inefficient means the “meat wave attacks”. Russia cannot fight normally because they do not have the military doctrine to do so. And this results in another 2x applied to russian losses. So, russia has probably lost 5-10x as many soldiers as Ukraine. So, the total combined (both sides is, comservatively, 500,000 russian losses + 100,000 Ukrainian losses = 600,000 total losses combined.
Your post sure seems fishy. Advocating for the Ukrainians to cease fire and negotiate, it seems. And that’s a big NOPE. Why should Ukraine do that when they’re about to have the upper hand in this war? Suddenly the russians want Ukraine to negotiate… because they are about to lose the advantage.

Those HIMARS Missiles aren't HIMARS Missiles, in fact those HIMARS Missiles are actually the 300km ATACMS (Army TACtical Missile System) ballistic missiles that can also be launched from a HIMARS launch platform.
No. Biden has said ATACMS are not allowed to be used outside of Ukraine. Yes that is absurd but that's the way it is right now. This way Ukraine is prevented from reaching the bombers that are releasing the glide bombs.
