- UKRAINIAN troops fire anti-aircraft cannons at Russian position in the Kharkiv region.
A Ukrainian guardsman told Reuters: “We are now at the north of the Kharkiv region, in one of the settlements where we fulfil the task of protecting our divisions from strikes by the enemy’s aviation. Because they very often appear in this area. Our task is to shoot them down when they appear.”

I love that even though they are a AA troop they are still taking shots of opportunity at the Russian units.
Its pretty common these canons are used against troops and light armoured vehicles aswell

I have always appreciated the Russian doctrine for portable large caliber (20-30mm) guns. With modern ammo ie.... Anti personnel & armor piercing rds are extremely effective. Manned by a well trained & highly motivated crew give a commander the tactical edge .

That depends on Russia now, mostly. They can end this shitshow and salvage what's left. Or they can do a Germany 45 and ride it out 'til the end when they can't keep their neighbors from simply cutting them up as they see fit. The east will become North China, the south North-Iran and the West East-Poland or East-Lithuania, with a few chunks of East-Finland for good measure.
