- Welcome to the first episode of this series! Figured I had to get a play on the username at SOME point in my time on RUclips. Hope you enjoy this little look at how I made Bertie!

What a terrific start to this new series! Bertie looks outstanding, and I have to ask, what did you use for the greenery? The trees and bushes in shots such as 3:25 look miraculous.
Thank you! I use seafoam trees with added leaves, and sagebrush branches for the trunks 🙂

Yeah I was a bit worried about it, but if it hadn’t worked I’d have returned it and tried again with something else. Thankful I didn’t have to do that!
The truck is wildly out of scale though, closer to O gauge size 😯

You did an awesome job of making Bertie the bus and I don't mind that you didn't give him that black strike because it does remind me of the season 23 redesign overall I am pretty impressed.
That is very true that his redesign doesn’t have it, I’m not a fan of all the changes to his design in BWBA but I didn’t mind that one. 😉 Thanks for watching!

Bertie looks great, and I like tutorial. Me personally, I don’t know if I could ever be a modeler someday, but I would live to try if I ever got the chance. One question though, are your models aiming for a specific era in the series?
I like the look of TATMR the most. But the look I’m aiming for will eventually lean towards “if these engines existed irl”, stay tuned!
@@Calebtrain I understand as the props in that movie looked great on a cinematic screen. For me, the S3-5 era, as the props back then I just felt looked the best at the time.

That's a nice job that you've made with Bertie. Do you live in England, or stateside? Unfortunately quite a few Ertle or Bachmann Thomas series models are all but impossible to get here, due to marketing agreements.
I am stateside! That is a shame about availability, makes things much more difficult. Some sellers are willing to ship across the pond, but it does usually end up expensive one way or another unfortunately!
Where did you get the eyeballs? I only use foam balls for my tugs replicas.
I buy 6mm beads from eBay, though Bertie’s are 4mm 🙂

How do you make the eyes move
Unfortunately HO/OO is too small for eye mechanisms, so I've used animation to make the eyes move in productions :)
