I’m a fan of their cover of John Mayer’s “In the Blood” but it sounds pretty straightforward. “Blue Ain’t Your Color” has a nice throwback sound and choreography.

Almost wonder if his range is wider than Tim's since he sings tenor and can get quite high it seems but the "bass" notes he can generate during beatboxing are also amazing. In live concert, three of them shook the entire venue with their lows: Tim, Chance, and Adam.

The video was shot in the Austrian Alps, a fantastic background for this song. The guys from Home Free have perfectly expressed the pure beauty of this song. The harmonies are so precise and flawless, it's brilliant. Someone once commented on this: this is no longer acapella, this is voice painting. And I can only agree with that. Thanks for the great reaction Peter!

A number of famous singer "perform" this song, but this was more of a prayer. Adam brings in that 5th voice beautifully. Some of the high sustained note that shows in places is Tim, some is Adam. That last low note is Chance and Tim together. And Darren is an extremely gifted arranger.

Semi-long story alert... The first time I watched this video I lost it in a good way. When the guys get to the final verse and sing "...in humble a-dor-a-tion", it took me back 50~ years to when I was a little shaver singing this hymn in church along side my father, who sang bass in the choir. At that age I was singing the soprano part; now I'm singing along with Tim's bass part. I hadn't heard that hymn in 30-some years.
Lost pop 17 years ago this summer, but each time I watch this video it brings him back to me and I smile through my tears of that memory.
Thank you, Mr. Barber, for releasing this video and having it pop up in my feed this afternoon.

4 and5 part harmony (Adam is adding extra high tenor) pretty much demands dissonance unless 2 or more voices are on the same note. I love the long smooth resolves HF is giving to those crunches. It's been many more years than yours since studying music theory, so I forget the terminology. Your explanations are wonderful. HF is the total package: 2 basses, 3 baritones, 5 tenors, 1 master percussionist, 4 backup percussionists -- as a group, greater than the sum of its parts. I really love the close-ups on each "instrument" in the happy song "Can't Stop the Feeling." And it makes me want to dance, too!

The best version I've heard of this song.❤
A song I grew up with because I come from a Christian family where my father and grandmother were pastors. My father, who had a beautiful voice, often sang this at home (in Dutch). Home Free sings this so beautifully in a great scenery that I let my mother (85) hear and show it a year ago. Now she wants to listen to it regularly and has suggested it to her church community to show it there. How Home Free sings it, you don't just hear it, you also feel it. And it's great that Adam Rupp also sings here.
    Some suggestions:
    "End Of The Road"
"Go Rest High On That Mountain"
    "Take Me Home, Country Roads"
    ""Mayday"
    "Castle On The Hill"
    The Trilogy:
    "Give Me A Sign"/"Stargazer Lillies/MR
I will see them in Utrecht on September 27, which I am so looking forward to.

You absolutely need to travel the Rockies throughout Montana and Wyoming. At elevations over 4000 ft the light is pearlescent...indescribable. summertime is best (no crazy zero temps 😉 )

I've always loved this song. It's one of the ones my Daddy taught me to sing the high notes with, along with "Our God, He Is Alive". It's in all the old hymnals, if you're interested in the original. But I also love this arrangement. This one and their "Amazing Grace" with Peter Hollens are how I was introduced to Home Free in the first place.

Rumor has it Adam Rupps voice is pretty high ... between Rob and Austin.

Judging by his “nomonica” performances, he has a pretty wide range - he can go low too.

I think Tim once, when asked who in HF has the biggest range, answered Adam Rupp…

Adam admits to higher than Rob and lower than Austin, but that doesn't say anything about his lower limits.

There's a new song out (however audio only - no video yet) "Hers Ain't Mine" on Austin's channel. Tim sings bass on it & I think you'd like it because of that. "How Great Thou Art" was filmed in the Austrian Alps. The singing and harmonies are out of this world and we even get to hear Adam sing a little. Two other songs featuring Tim solos that you haven't heard are "What We Ain't Got" and "In the Blood".

A great Adam Chance lead with some crazy low harmony is I Can't Outrun You. He also directed the really cool video.

Great breakdown, always enjoy your full analysis of technique and voices. Would absolutely love to hear your take on Faouzia - You Don’t Even Know Me or her Bad Dreams, 2 of her ‘lower’ songs, but she tends to sit in a lower register, not to say she can’t hit or even sit in the higher, because she can. I think she’s worth checking out. 😊

Another person you should take a look at is a 19 year old young woman named Lucy Thomas. One heck of a natural singer. Her sister does some duets with her, and one song “SMILE”, her mother joined in and all three of them did that video for Mother’s Day. Awesome young girls and Lucy has the better voice by far, but he thinks her sister is gaining ground. They do old songs too. One of her most popular is Hallelujah.

Not many reactors mention Adam Rupp when he sings and he does on a few video's, I heard his vocal range is something like a G6 to B0 wow i know during an interview Tim said Adam had the widest range because of his beatboxing skills.

the high floaty notes are actually Adam if you watch Austin and Rob are actually singing in view when you here them and think where did that come from sneaky little Adam lol
