    Te felicito! Fuerte abrazo desde México

    By the way, Amazon sells a multitude of temperature / humidity meters that you you could just stick inside the filiment area to be able to actually know what the humidity is. I think some are available with Min/Max indicators which would be more relevant to this use.

    Wow, awesome idea with a lot of thought put into this.. You may have already thought of the this however one thing I did think of was a possible issue when printing ABS or ASA materials that off gas VOC's when printing. An activated carbon air filter insert on the air flow exiting the top could be beneficial.

    I have printed without a filament sensor for years. I just watch the remaining filament and change before it is exhausted. What about simplifying the filament path by going direct from the filament guide to the extruder. My Ender 5 pro is set with a direct drive system and there is no PTFE tubing between the filament guide and the extruder. It makes filament changing much easier than forcing it through the sensor.

    I.would consider a version that has higher walls, and offers a floor with bowden pass-through to keep the printer's OEM internal volume the same. I would also prevision this version to have a heating element option and desiccant container.

  • @lornelorne5727
    @lornelorne5727 Год назад +4

    Very interesting. My one concern is regarding ventilation of the printer though. One of the reasons I selected the K1 is because it's enclosed and easy to vent dangerous fumes through the rear exhaust. But your design seems to want the hot air to blow up into the MFS and then just out the top into the room?

    @Soravia 11 месяцев назад

    My 300x300x300 corexy I built on my own has single spool on top, and no direct extruder, but a short bowden due to extruder in the middle of the printer top.
    I don't have resonances.
    X rails are only the linear rails, held at ends. Only the printer nozzle assembly and touch sensor are on X movement.

    How does this fair with retaining heat for printing ASA?

    • @InventorsGarage

      I notice no difference on the chamber temperature using the MFS, so it will print ABS, ASA with the same quality but preserving a low moisture absorption on the filament during the printing time.

    Just curious, what software are you using to do color changes on Creality printers? Creality slicer doesn't support color chages and I'm trying to get Orca working right but the only one I have got to work right has been Cura.

    • @OldManJimmy1
      @OldManJimmy1 9 месяцев назад

      @victorsantiago2373 Yes, Orcaslicer for the win. You slice your model, drag the layer lever down to where you want to change your filament and right click on the lever and add a pause. I've used this to change up to five different colors on Hueforge prints.

    • @OldManJimmy1
      @OldManJimmy1 9 месяцев назад

      @victorsantiago2373 Oh wow, you're going to love that printer. So much easier than the first ones you had to manually level the bed and no filament run out sensors etc. Did you hear Creality just announced the all new K2 with a FMS or multi color filament management system? I would recommend you print as much stuff as you can experience is the best teacher but with that printer you are probably going to want to root it at some point. Most with the K1 have due to it running basically a stock klipper firmware. The channel 3DPrintSOS has some great help for rooting printers and other advise for 3D printing in general you will find helpful. Good luck with your 3D printing my friend and you will have many years of enjoying the hobby I'm sure!!!!

      I switched not too long ago. The one thing that I like about Orca is its calibration tools and guide. If you want real quality prints, you generally should retool and dial your settings in every time you change filament. But yea - kill the vibrations and run max flow? Oh thats gotta really get up there for numbers.

    As a K1 MAX owner, I completely agree with the spool issue, CHEP has a video talking about the same issue, he took out some screws from the side that were holding in the fan and replaced them with longer screws so he can mount a 3d printed bracket for the spool holder to click into. I did notice, when you were showing clips of you printing, how did you get the zig-zag lines instead of purge line? I know that it is for flow rate, but I do not know how to turn it on. From what I understand, this does not do something like the AMS where it changes mid print, it is pretty much a dry box connected to the 3d printer.

    It may work to run the tube from all three rolls of filament and have it so the two unused rolls have their tubes clipped in to a position out of the way. Then changing filament would be as simple as removing one tube from the extruder and fitting the other to the extruder, cutting the filament close to the extruder then extruding it on the side would be quick and easy.
    Maybe a pain in the rear if it is a model with a lot of swap and change but very good for something just with two or a few colour changes especially for text on the top of something.
    just another option,

    Love the video, thanks! Do you have any issues with running PLA with the MFS system? I added a riser to my MAX with venting, and I still have to remove my top cover to run PLA due to heat creep. Is this an issue with the MFS? Also, how well does this work with the input shaping and running at high speeds? I know you said your printer seems more stable, but I was curious if you've noticed any issues running over 300mm/s?

    • @InventorsGarage
      @InventorsGarage  Год назад +1

      Hi JB, I know what you mean related do PLA. By a principle of physics, the hot air stays on top making the filament soften even before get into the hotend, and making the K1 extruder lose traction. What I notice was, with the MFS that hot air bubble moved inside the MFS helping cooling the filament and the printing part. Of Course you can fully open the top window in case you live in Phoenix/AZ and your printer is outside LOL.
