I just realized you also made Akuma’s Raging Demon with his build. Relentless Hex teleport In, unleash 6 attacks with an action surge, and strike a pose
I thought it was four consecutive quivering palms in a row
Y'know I didn't even think about that. I thought Tulok was using Hurl Through Hell for the Raging Demon, but that's actually better than Hurl Through Hell because HtH doesn't work on fiends. And both Street Fighter and Marvel Vs Capcom both acknowledge the Raging Demon as being able to kill gods and demons.
I was actually going to ask about the Shin Goku Satsu. Nice
That Akuma has the potential to be a rad boss character...is what I would say if I wasn’t planning on using him as a boss in my campaign. I swear >.>
It'd be amazing if you like double the HP, give him legendary actions and saves. It'd be amazing for a big bad bbeg
when 2 out of the 3 cons are stuff that you could do but are just out of character it really goes to show how powerful the Akuma build is. Nicely done
Assuming you decided to start using a weapon, what would you change?
@@ME-nf8jv Dueling fighting style with a longsword and shield, or a polearm with Great Weapon style and the Sentinel feat. Hexblade instead of Pact of the Fiend.
@@StriderZessei Hmmm, both good choices, but, to me at least, Polearm wielding with GWF and Sentinel seems to translate Akuma's vibe to a more weapon-centric build the best.
In defense of Flame Strike, a LOT less monsters resist Radiant than Fire. Having half of that 8d6 go unresisted is likely going to make it better than a fully resisted 10d6.
It's still only like 21 damage for a fifth level slot. It's just a better idea to use other Cleric spells.
Ryu can definitely comprehend all the different languages people from street fighter speak. In our world, they're all speaking english, but there's no reason to expect that in the world of the game they're not speaking their own native languages.
the ryu build made me come to a conclusion for a new homebrew rule for any game I run: any players that multiclass and get extra attack from two or more sources get an ASI or feat instead. otherwise it just feels like punishing somebody for wanting to a cool thing and I don't want to punish multiclassing.
That would be a simple and flavorful houserule. I dig it.
I would only allow one additional point instead of two or close off some options for the feat because that can get really strong and I could see people intentional going that route to get something like sentinel along with either 2 other feats which depending on the build can get broken fast.
Yes
@@grimdagoblinmain To be fair, extra attack can be extremely powerful
If your DM allows, you can use pushing attack as a Shoryuken, pushing your enemy 10ft up. And it is a legitimate strategy, since they will then take 1d6 fall damage
I like to think the Talisman for Akuma's Pact is the kanji that flares up on his back after he Shun Goku Satsu's
Tulok has been working so hard, I hope it pays off
I hope so too. There's a lot of "I'm done with this shit" vibes in recent videos. (see the "ripo-say" short rant in Ryu and any video with True Strike...). While 60+ builds in a month is great for us, I can imagine the stress Tulok must be feeling.
Holy carp he actually did make Ryu a Sun Soul Monk!
I figured he'd somehow avoid the most likely choice and end up turning him into some kind of fighter/cleric/bard/rogue or some such shenanigans to get some crazy variant to accomplish all the same powers with other abilities!
You're slipping, Tulok. You're slipping hard!
Beasts exist to be tamed and subjugated! -Akuma making an animal handling check
"I know he wants to be a demon, but that's too bad."
The truth never hurt so good.
Has anyone else noticed that Tulok's Street Fighter footage is him getting beaten up by a CPU of the character he's building
Yeah he’s mentioned it a couple times
"He's not evil, he's just kind of grumpy."
Tulok, he's a murderer who punched an island to death. I think it's safe to say he's evil. :P
Actually his official kill count is at one: his master Goutetsu. And said Master was happy that Akuma succeeded him. Akuma has an odd moral code that is summed up as, "I'll only aim to kill you if you are worth that effort."
The island deserved it.
@@Dragongamz1 his canon kill count is higher, thanks to some unnamed Muay Thai practitioner who was about to challenge Adon, as well as killing Bison, Gill, and Gen (although Bison and Gill can just resurrect themselves). That being said, Akuma's moral code is perhaps best summarized as the code of the warrior: he doesn't attack unprovoked, but he won't throw the fight either, and he will always keep his word.
...The Akuma half of the video, which is what I came here for, was pretty clearly made without knowing much about Akuma's backstory, or his gameplay in any game OTHER than SFV. Great, looks like I'm on my own for this one...
Akuma beefy? Mr. "Screw defense, just give more ways to hurt people" beefy? I definitely believe he should have higher Dex than Con. Also, Mobile would be way more fitting than Tough, as moving without provoking attacks of opportunity is literally a move Akuma does in the games.
On the sixteenth day of Christmas
My good Sr. Tulok brought me:
Seventeen Full-Shoto fighters
Sixteen Eternial friends
Fifteen Self-destructive teammates
Fourtheen Marvelous Mutants
Thirteenth paternal blood bonds
Twelve dreamy rivals
Eleven bottled pirate ships
Ten Martial fighters
Nine Red starfleet uniforms
Eight Fantastic Couples
Seven Rebel Spirit cops
Six Lively toys
Five Angry space wizards
Four Hunted devils
Three Prideful Greek heroes
Two Crime fighting gals
And a lemur up in a pear tree!
When I got into DnD my DM recommended this channel and I've been watching since. I would love the chance to see either characters from Jujutsu Kaisen, Chainsaw man, or Fire Force to be given a chance
Great taste, I gotta say. Any of those series would be great to see statted up, for sure.
Good to see someone who can not only pronounce Ryu correctly, but hadouken as well...
While comic book version of Legion is insanely varied in power sets, the FX show version (all 3 seasons on Hulu) makes for a great build. I've been playing my take on the build through a Curse of Strahd campaign.
Can't believe I lived for 31 years and haven't heard a Akuma Matata joke until now.
So one major thing you got wrong about Akuma... he's got one of the lowest vitality out of all the fighters in street fighter. He's not tanky at all. The very definition of a glass cannon.
Quick reminder that the person who told you it was "ri-po-say" is getting an F in French, and probably an F in English just for good measure.
I give you recognition for the bye bye Birdie joke.
Thank you
I was in Bye Bye Birdie once! I caught the reference. 😁
With these builds, my enemies shall DIE ONE THOUSAND DEATHS!!!
I appreciated that Bye Bye Birdie quip.
I always thought Fireballs did *force* damage, having heard/read somewhere that they simulate the impact of a punch.
While it is described as an explosion of flame, it is different to your regular bomb explosion.
It is magic fire that expands from a bead and engulfs everything, as opposed to concussive force. That is why it deals fire damage.
@@DvirPick No, I meant Fireballs in Street Fighter, aka Hadokens.
Hadou translates roughly to “Force” so it would make sense.
It also translates to “wave energy” and “Aura” so it’s not perfect.
Still waiting for a Bison build. Come on, we need Psycho Power! Lol at the Hakuma Matara joke.
I liked the video and made this comment specifically due to the Bye Bye Birdie reference. That was impressive. Thank you.
EDIT: the "bye son" joke tying in with that? Made me grin. Thank you again.
Always Sunny reference was much aprreciated
Fun fact about Akuma: Historically he has had some of the lowest HP in the game. This was done to balance out his ridiculous damage output. So Tulok might have actually made a stronger Akuma than the one in the game
Calling it now - they’re fighters who have favoured environment: street
Hmm, u could replace tough on ryu for shadow touch to make evil ryu if anyone wants
Heck yeah I'd love a F.A.N.G. build
Props to Tulok for getting his fighting game lingo right
You know what? I don't even like sports games, but I'd play the hell out of a full contact Street Fighter Basketball game.
Those certainly are some outfits Ryu has there.
Love the It’s Always Sunny reference
Am I the only one that doesn't mind Searing Arc Strike? I know level 6 for Burning Hands isn't amazing, but you get to cast it as a bonus action instead of an action with the feature, which is kinda cool. I know it competes with Flurry of Blows and other ki options, but eh I like having a cone option that you can use after two attacks if you want. Could be better for sure, but I like it 😅
It's a strange feeling clicking on a new Tuluk video with no views and only one like.
6:38 I know this video came out forever ago. But in sf6, Ryu tells you about the common phrases he's learned in many languages
Tulok you deserve a very cool enamel Dennis pin for that joke
Tulok, I shall reward your Bye Bye Birdie reference with this:
Gray skies are gonna clear up...
Put on a 😀
Bye, son!
Just... just a great pun. I didn't see that coming like a left hook so it was very pleasantly surprising. unlike a left hook.
I kept getting distracted by Akuma fighting Abraham Lincoln 🙃
I'll give you a groan. I got that bye-bye birdie reference.
Just came here mid-watching Ivy's character commentary since you said nobody watches the Street Fighter videos. I'm gonna fix that
The puns in this video (Bye Bye Birdie/Bi-Son)
Perfect
To be fair to Searing Arc Strike, it's a Bonus Action. And it can be upcast for extra ki, which most 4 Elements Monk abilities don't get.
"Reduce Ryu-se recycle" made my whole month
A dynamic duo on the Arcade machines.
Can't wait for the Dennis and Dee builds.
Hey Tulok, love your videos, they were the reason I started doing videos on the same model for my brazilian audience (composing of my mom and maybe 5 friends). I even did a video on how to make Akuma a few months ago, (but then my pc broke down and I had to get another job, so no more time for making videos by myself sadly) with a different approach (divine sorcerer for a truly shin shun goku satsu) on most levels. Yours is amazing as well, hope your luck stays better than mine and you keep on making those!
🏆Nice reference Tulok 🏆

Here is your reward: Birdie is an obscure Street Fighter (one) character, later completely reinvented in the Street Fighter Alpha series.
And then ruined in Street Fighter 5.
As much as I enjoy the "they should be/are lovers" bit that's been going on, I'm pretty sure that Akuma is heavily implied to be Ryu's father.
No, he's not.
Not even remotely.
Thankfully, they're not lovers, either.
Akuma (Gouki) is related to Gouken (Ryu's sensei), however.
@@happyslapsgiving5421 Nah, they are *implied* to be related somehow, but it's usually brushed away or non-canon things
@@Ulekius
I don't know what "non-canon things" you're talking about, but in the main, canon material (read: every single SF game ever made except for the EX series, and the accompanying booklets and SF encyclopedias) this made up fan theory is not hinted at, not implied... Hell, not even mentioned. Ever. 😅
I've literally only ever heard that stated by Death Battle and they've never said where they pull it from.
@@BJGvideos To be honest, that's also where I heard it. Just the fact they brought it up in two separate fights makes me think that at least THEY believe it.
Thank you for the video.
Gotta say. Akuma is probably my most favorite build so far
More Street Fighter, Mortal Combat and Tekken please! 🥳🎉
Jin?! Shao Kahn?!
Kinda weird that Akuma ends up being chunkier than Ryu.
Mason must be a real cool dude.
Lol I just watched that IASIP episode last night. It sure was a hot one.
I love the Always Sunny references lmao do Dennis Reynolds some time?
I'd like to see you do Ohma and Ranieen from kegan ashura
Protagonist using a style while their arch-nemesis of sorts uses a darker style that tore through countless soldiers? Ok, I can't... season's greetings, may you all be safe.
“Gonna burn some muscle”
- Shoutout to all my SF fans who get that reference
As a dnd and a musical theatre guy all I can really do is tip my hat to you, or if you have a p.o. box I could send you a cookie?
One change for Akuma I would do is changing the Fighter Subclasses to battlemaster and only doing 6 levels, I'd use 14 levels of fiend warlock using hurl through hell to represent the raging demon and use the spell Tasha's Otherworldly Guise to represent the satsui no hado. It's less attacks but I think it works really well
Have you done Kim Possible and Ron Stoppable? If you do this again they would make a good double-video.
YOU EVER BEEN IN A STORM LIKE THAT, WALLY?
Ok...now we need a Dan build
Still would like to see Charlie and Guile. Been wanting to do them in a campaign. But would like to see your take.
Would LOVE to see a Tinkerbell build.
Your reward for Bye Bye Birdie... is a bye bye Birdie referance from an absolute stranger "Talk to me, Baby won't you talk to me? I don't care what you say, talk to me." Your welcome. Ok fine. "Kids! Whats up with these Kids!!"
Is Riposte the new True Strike? We’ll have to concentrate for a round to find out.
Since they have hinted in the lore that Akuma is Ryu’s dad, I really think that you don’t want them to be lovers.
Lots of attacks or a big blast, magic ranged attacks, and the ability to gain life from killing foes. Jesse Faden can do all that
I don't know how I feel about Akuma having high con, considering he's got like the lowest hp in all the games he's in.
I'm dying 🤣😂🤣😂
Riposte, I love it
Now all Tulok has to do is make a build of LowTierGod to make it so that these two are top tier builds
Nice Always Sunny reference, by the way.
Thanks
Akuma's a glass canon
Sol & Ky from guilty gear please!
I like everything here except for the tough feat for Akuma. He's pretty much a glass cannon in his base forms in most games.
Finally, I can make someone die one thousand deaths
I am mildly freaked out because after I got impatient waiting for your Ryu build, I made one of my own a few months back, using ideas from your Ken, Chun-Li and Kiryu builds (Heat gauge/superiority dice from Battle Master could function as Super Meter for EX Attacks and Super Combos/Arts), and I kid you not, we seem to have come up with almost the EXACT. SAME. BUILD. Have you been spying on me? XD
I wanna know how to play Dan Hibiki in DND, I think Ryu is a good base, just swap Wisdom with Charisma
Would Jinx make an interesting build, or just be an artillerist artificer?
I think she would be a mix of artillerist artificer and fighter (like the heavy build)
@@magistermagus1211 If we do include the events of Arcane, she'd need some serious skills too. She somehow

found out who Caitlin is and where she lives in half a day, broke into her house, knocked her out, and smuggled her across town without being noticed.
Time for a street fight and street fighter
I feel dumb for asking, but is Akuma missing an Eldritch Invocation at Warlock 9? I rummaged through the comments, but I couldn't find anyone mentioning it.
(cue Tulok pinching the bridge of his nose as he debates whether or not to explain something he's already addressed again, probably)
Maybe I missed something here, but what would make Akuma's unarmed attacks magical, at higher levels?
I liked the video just for that bye bye birdie joke
Tulok, can you do a Guyver build?
If it's not much of a bother I would love to see (and use) Master Splinter in D&D, so... Could you give us an idea on how to do it?
We need how to play Dennis Raynolds in dnd
I have a question. Is a 20 AC really that good? I mean it's decent but most enemies late game are gonna hit regardless
They could roll low.
Consider a monster with +10 to hit which would succeed 50% of the time vs an AC of 15 which would get hit 75% of the time. That's taking an extra hit every 4 attacks.
Its very good early game and holds well until you start to get to double digetsand still works agains mooks but the big enemies are gonna be hitting more and more
Oh hey this looks interesting. I wonder how accurate it is.
Tulok: *Gives Akuma, one of the lowest Health characters in the franchise, a higher CON mod than Ryu.*
Me: Ehhhh....Ryu got the Tough Feat and +1 higher isn't unreasonable. Especially since the Tough Feat guarantees Ryu about 20 extra bonus HP over Akuma.
Tulok: *Gives Akuma, who regularly trumps attempts at psychic mental manipulation, a dumped WIS stat*
Me: Okay, that is just flat out the opposite of how his saves should be.
Tulok: *Gives Ajuma the Tough Feat at level 1.*
Me: Ah, got it. *Switches CON and WIS and gives the Resilient (WIS) Feat for my own version of the build to more accurately reflect Akuma's strengths and weaknesses*
I mean Dark One's Own Luck+Indomitable can make up for the lower Wisdom for the sake of saving against various Mental Shenanigans
@@Dragongamz1 Or I can just fix both problems by switching the two scores.
@@KingZolem Fair enough, I just figured to throw that mention in there
