JACO PASTORIUS THE MAN WAS THE ONE THAT CAUSED ME TO PICK UP THE BASS 30 YEARS AGO AND TO THIS DAY HIS PLAYING AND HIS MUSIC STILL BOWLS ME OVER ,AND YEARS LATER BASSIST TODAY ARE STILL CHASING JACO PASTORIUS AND TO THE BASSIST OF TODAY DOING ALL THE CHASING I SAY GIVE IT UP.
Thanks for putting this out. You know. . .as a musician and journalist, I always see a declined interest in Jazz over time. And every time that decline happens--BOOM--a new Jaco release comes out and folks start playing/listening to jazz again. It's almost like Jaco is working his magic beyond the grave, getting everyone together to hear some music. Magical!
What Sunmoonoh said. It should be considered a crime not to own Jaco's debut, and ALL of his albums with Weather Report...and the albums with Joni Mitchell...and Word of Mouth...just own all of the stuff. It's better that way.
A parte del concierto de cumpleaños, existe otro cd doble de esta banda, el cual existen algunas transcripciones de bajo en uno de los libros sobre Jaco.
I waited for 2 hours outside my local record shop and got the vinyl box.I gotta say that everything about it is immaculate including the pressing. Its worth tracking one down if you can as its a collectors item and they could not have done a better job on it.Good luck mate.
Hey, im trying to download single songs from the record on Itunes but it seems they are not available(anymore) ?? I live in the Netherlands btw. Can someone help me out ? I have downloaded blusette but i cant download the rest.
I just checked on iTunes/Netherlands and it looks like individual tracks are available for purchase. Please try again. Feel free to email me at heidi@resonancerecords.org if you still have a problem.
The booklet is included only with purchase of the CD or LP (www.resonancerecords.org/release.php?cat=HCD-2027). Digital purchase also includes a download of the digital booklet.
Perplexed by the Jaco worship. Even more perplexed by the "influenced" list? Wayne Shorter and Joe Zawinul were gracious enough to let that weirdo in their band. They were heads and shoulders above Jaco, musician-wise. Billy Idol? Really?
After Jaco left the band- WR was no more. Starting with 'Procession' their music mostly sucks !!! It sounds so dated today. They became a crap band - a laughing stock, with crap new bass player. They recorded nothing worth listening after Jaco left. WR is almost forgotten band now, but people still love and remember Jaco ! It was impossible to replace Jaco. :)
@@tomrott5333 "After Jaco left the band- WR was no more" That's idiotic nonsense, illustrating the phenomenon rather than explaining it. Funny how many people are well-up for any old cult that comes their way. I suppose they're just born that way and never mature.

I have everything ever released with Jaco on it and this by far is the best fidelity I have ever heard of Jaco's band!
The Big Band was one of my favorite periods of Jaco.. This show is stunning.
I was at this concert with a friend of mine who knew of Jaco, but was seeing him live for the first time. What a great memory! I'll never forget it!

Ya well, that "weirdo" made them a boatload of money.
