Again, he’s beatable but everyone plays like robots and are baseline rally players. His opponent showed him a mix of skills and played the offensive like a Federer and beat Alcaraz. Everyone else plays defensive and just tries to pass him and that clearly doesn’t work with an offensive player.

At barely 20 years, Carlitos has shown grace in defeat and acknowledged his opponents skills. Aryna was defeated early as well having been victorious in Madrid. Playing on clay courts is exhausting and brutal to your body especially with sliding. For Rafa to win 14 French open titles in addition to many clay court titles is extraordinary considering the most severe pounding your body has to endure to recover.

But having said that , Rafa lost in 3rd round in Rome last year too so this result should not matter and he should just focus on the French and which I think is his main aim as well

Even Nadal usually says "I was tired, coming back from injury is not easy, I was not at my highest level, etc," searching excuses like most players.
Alcaraz is really great in everything and has no problem to admit that he was simply outplayed. It happens to the best to play average or to face an opponent who is "in the zone".

Reporters always try to bait the players into making excuses for their loses, some physical injury or otherwise. Kudos to Carlos for not taking the bait and giving credit to Marozsan for outplaying him. Some players due to pride or over-inflated ego, not to mention names, would claim they were the better player in a loss such as this.

This guy’s favourite shot is drop shot. It takes years to master a particular shot, especially drop shot. Maroszan is 23 y.o. and I believe he has novtitle yet. It means he’s been losing too many matches and therefore his body is well rested. At times players are like possessed in a particular match and then lose badly the next round. Consistency is key. We’ll see his next match. If he’ll play the same he will be the next RG champion.

He still struggles on faster surfaces: faster hard, grass and indoors. Rome is also faster clay usually.
His 2023 season is almost identical to his 2022 season: brilliant from February until Madrid masters. Last year he kind of disappeared after Madrid until US Open and after US Open. (he only got injured later) Will be interesting to se if this sis a pattern.
