I love the Miedzy Drutami store. I'm lucky to live in Wrocław. It is not only a shop but also a place for knitting meetings, workshops, a place for every yarn and knitting lover, created by the same lover - Kasia.
And I think everyone in Poland loves Gabo Wool ❤️. Wonderfully nice and soft yarns.

How did I miss that you were in my home country for 6 weeks straight? :D I hope you enjoyed the experienced. And yes, as a side note, the shipping in Poland often takes one day - in some cases you can even get your parcel the same day you place an order but that's when you're buying through Allegro which is a Polish equivalent of Amazon :)

I gotta say, I'm concerned about the welfare of the vicuñas that supplied the fiber for that pricey yarn. I'm from Bolivia and unlike alpacas and llamas which are domesticated animals, vicuñas are known for being wild camelids. That would explain why they produce little wool in a year since they aren't typically stripped from their fur. It makes me worry about forceful treatment being used to harvest that fiber and whether the vicuñas were warm enough afterwards to withstand the cold of the Andes (which is a permanent feature of the climate throughout the year, specially at nigh time). I am glad you didn't decide to purchase any of that yarn, particularly without knowing more about their practices. I don't mean to bring down the mood though, your video was lovely in all other regards!

Thanks for sharing your experiences with yarn shopping abroad. I just returned from Oxford, England where I visited two yarn stores. Unfortunately the UK stopped refunding VAT in 2021, so the savings were not as good as before. But I still enjoyed shopping there. Oxford Yarn Store had an amazingly stock of Isager silk mohair. The colors were gorgeous. 😊

love your travel eps! i also love that the vicuna yarn is on a cake stand under a glass dome :-)) . Norman Nimble Needles made himself a pair of gloves or something out of vicuna and has at least 1 ep abt it. ...the silk is so shiny! and the colorway goes w/ your nail polish 🙂 ...idk abt Poland, but have you visited Karnaluks in Reykyavik? it's huuuuge--the button & trim area is bigger than my LYS.

it's a warehouse, with fabric, sewing machines, all the things [at least it was a few years ago]. the yarn is mostly in huge boxes , so maybe overwhelming. if i went back, i'd focus on buttons & other notions & tools. there's also a very comfortable spouse-parking area; there's a pic of my husband parked there on my Newcastle pullover page on rav. ;-) @@neknits

@misty_murphy Gabo Wool is a family company, they literally work in 3 persons 😊 give them time, maybe one day they will extend the parcels to US as well. But I definitely recommend the quality of their natural fibers, it is amazing
