I've been was waiting for this book release forever! Honestly thought his wife was going to complete this book years back but glad she chose James Patterson.

What was great to learn is Patterson stated he read all of Michael’s work, and thought he had a good grasp of his voice. Thankfully it seems he really tried to get as close to Crichton as possible

This also happened with Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time series. Brandon Sanderson was brought in by Jordan's family to complete the last 3 books of this 14-book series. I understand that he had left meticulous notes on how the story should finish.

Not trying to be a hater, but how many more posthumous novels is Michael Crichton gonna release? The man has been dead for almost 16 years, yet his widow keeps magically finding manuscripts that he hid away for some reason… 🤨

Hey bud, does it really matter? There are folks who are familiar with Michael's work and then there are those who are just discovering it, and I belong to the latter category. I watched this video and pulled out a book: The Andromeda Evolution finished by Daniel H. Wilson. Darn, excited to begin reading it! Let his widow pull out as many unfinished manuscripts as she can. I'm sure a lot of us would love a good tale. lol.

Yeah I agree. It’s strange to keep coming out with a novel when he has been gone this long?!

I love Michael Crichton but selecting James Patterson, an author who doesn't write his own books, to complete Eruption makes no sense to me.

Not sure what you’re yammering about. JP writes many of his own. Alex Cross , Michael Bennet , woman’s club. And yes he writes with others who learn and go on to do their own. He also gives millions to independent bookstores to keep them a float. I just finished this book and it’s great. 429 pages in 2 days !! And you can tell this is mostly Crichton. JP just added very little.
