- A while back I bought a run down, previously sunken Bayfield 29C. She was in rough shape, but I repaired and launched her in the summer of 2023. Since then Its been sitting on the hard waiting for more work to be done. This video is about that boat and the continuation of the refurbishing project.
Glad to see your moving forward on your sailboat. Best of Luck on your Refit.
Thank you. I am looking forward to seeing this boat on the water all spruced up. thanks for commenting. Take care.
I have a 1980 Bayfield 29 in Halifax, NS, and is how I found you. I am currently installing an 8kw vevor diesel heater under the cockpit and ducting it into the main area. Many people at my club use and love them. They're very safe, effecient and low maintenance.
The heater is located under the rear hinged seat. Open it and when looking in you will notice to the left, a vertical section of wood and glass that separates the foot of the starboard quarterbirth from the engine bay. The heater is hung there, perpendicular to the boats length, and exhausted through the transom. Its the best spot i could find, since the boat is quite small and most of the space has already been used wisely
I agree that the transom is probably the best place for the exhaust. I might end up putting it back the ultimately for ease of refuelling too, since I don't have a diesel engine and therefore no tank except the small one one the heater itself. I'll check out that location. Thanks.
I look forward to following your progress. Thanks for sharing with us.
Thanks you. We'll see how it all looks in the spring. Thanks for commenting.
