Thank you! This was a very helpful video. I have been searching how to use the m1 for the last week. And this is the best video for anyone starting out. You explained it clearly and even showed from start to finish. Thank you again!
You are so welcome. Please feel free to check out our other videos, some have promo codes for supplies.
Glad I stumbled across this. I’m 100% new and still trying to figure out basic operations. Couldn’t figure out why I wasn’t able to cut on bare aluminum or the stainless dog tag but I could cut clean through the 3mm plywood. I appreciate it
Thank you! As a newbie, this was a wonderful video to watch before trying to do metal (I took copious notes!).
You’re welcome, I will be uploading more videos soon.
This was super helpful. Thank you!
Thank you. Your video was very helpful.
Thanks for the tips
I have been trying all day to do a small pendant and couldn’t get it to work. I will buy the spray now
Yes the spray will help a ton. Just make sure you use high power and low speed to insure the spray reacts to the laser heat.
Great video thanks
Thank you
Thanks for the great video. I was wondering if you have ever made anything out of aluminum? Is it the same process?
Yes, cold galvanized spray spray for it as well.
Your videos are the best. I am an idiot at this stuff…
Thank you. We’re also on FB, please reach out to us if you have any questions. You’ll get better at it as you practice more.
Is the cold galvanized compound so that the engraving shows up better?
Yes, it lets the engraving images be a darker shade of black.
Will the spray take the paint off colored stainless steel, example a dark blue or pink stainless steel cup
Sorry for the delay, I would not use the spray on colored metal.
Does the words actually engraved or is it just surface burn
Surface burn and reaction to the spray, it’s very durable and lasts for a long time. Make sure power is at 100% and slow speed.
can this work on cold rolled sheet metal?
I’ve used it on stainless and sheet metal before. Slow and high power is the key.
Hey Cole. How did u get your speed to be in inches.
Ours only shows mm/sec.
We can't get our speed down to .7
Thanks jamie
That was with an old update to where you could choose inch instead of mm. If you choose the stainless steel settings it will work the same. Stainless steel is usually high power and very low speed. Just remember not to get your cold galvanize coating to thick, because your engraving will look brown instead of black.

Thanks for the answer.
We tried 100%power and like 20 mm speed.
Not dark at all.
Will slower speed and or more lines per sec help make it darker.
@@jamieriker165 try 8-10mm speed it’s gotta be really slow. Lines per cm needs to be increased if you have a lot of small/fine detail.
Cole. Do u know what the fill light brightness is in the working parameters does.??
I followed your video step by step and my engraving turned out really light. I did use acetone to remove the galvanized compound. What did I do wrong?
Make sure power is all the way up and speed is on 1-3 (very slow). Depending on the type of metal you may have to do 2 passes.
i tried this but when i washed the spray off the writing went with it what am i doing wrong here?
Are you using the same spray as in the video ? If so, is the metal your working with shiny or dull?
Do u use the spray on all metal engraving
For bare metal, yes I do
For aluminum what speed and power would you recommend?
Does this work for brass?
I’m not sure? It’s worth giving it a try
Did it work?
I have tried everything including your method to engrave on a Zippo lighter and it does absolutely nothing! I'm ready to pull my hair out. I really wanted to engrave this for my friend but I'm ready to toss the idea.
Is the zippo lighter stainless steel ?
@@coleminorkustoms8594 yes
@@bb_lars2711 how slow are you running the laser speed?
is this gloss, flat, matte??? I can only find gloss
The cold galvanized spray is flat
@@coleminorkustoms8594 I can only find floss. I assumed it was flat. Ty and what all metals have you successfully try this on with the M1? I am a big fan of yours and I always pass on your knowledge to others.
@@user-iv7be1ho1o thank you ! I have mainly used stainless steel. I have also tried aluminum items too. Other laser mark sprays can get very expensive, 50$ a can 😳
@@coleminorkustoms8594 yes they can. My problem is I can only find gray silver flat. The rest is all gloss and I know that’s not going to work. Will the gray silver flat work? This is for my business. Thank you in advance you’re very patient and kind to answer.
