I don’t know if you realised, but what the voice is saying at the beginning of the performance is what is played at the beginning of the Guerilla video.
And it's a quote from Equilibrium (so is the vault with the banned art including Yeats poetry)
And that's why they are known as the 4th Gen PERFORMANCE KINGS!!! No one does it like ATEEZ!!

I just realized they used the opening sound bite on the beginning of Guerilla. I knew San had one of the masks as part of his Guerilla fit, but I never placed the sound.
They changed the song so much that when it started, the original artists (who were also competing on Kingdom) didn't know which of their songs it was. They said that ATEEZ made it ATEEZ's song.

With Kingdom it's always worth pointing out that these videos are done with multiple cameras on one stage (often divided into sections) in ONE take. In some behind-the-scenes videos, you can see the members scrambling around from one side of the stage to the other to prepare for different sections of the choreography. At 1:33 you see Wooyoung (left) and Yunho (right) when the camera pans right. They exit to the screen right, run around behind the camera, and show up again at 1:42 on top of the desk. Same people, one take. The amount of planning and work, choreography and movement that these performances take is mind blowing. We literally don't have anything even remotely close to this happening with live performances in the US, so my hat's off to them. Also this song is _very_ different from the original by IKON (pronounced icon), so the original is very much worth listening to for perspective. IKON is, well, iconic in the 3rd generation of kpop, and they competed against ATEEZ (they swapped songs for this round, and IKON did their take on Inception, which is incredible) in this show. ATEEZ made this version of the song their own and managed to put in their lore as well, with the beginning forming the precursor to what would become the opening of Guerrilla 2 years later. Cool. Glad you enjoyed it!
This song performed a year before their Movement ep 1 comeback dropped all kinds of storyline.
This was my favorite stage by Ateez but barely. I just loved everything they did hear-from the mashup with Vivaldi’s Seasons to totally making this song all Ateez.
The stage also references the movie Money Heist which is why they have the Latin sound during Hongjoong’srap.
They are the performance kings. They will be touring Europe next week so we are guessing comeback after that. But with Ateez you just never know.
I just found your videos. I love when metal heads can appreciate Ateez. They are in a league of their own. I’m sure it’s been said, but their story/lore is so deep and ingrained. Every thing they do is around their storyline. It’s the only group I know that is fully committed.
The vocalist is Jongho. He refuses to lip sync so in turn it forces everyone else to sing live also. It’s over a back track but it is live. They’re live performances are where they shine the most.

Another note about Kingdom stages. The Ateez ones are in reverse order. So the end of this one connects to Wonderland. Answer connects to Rhythm Ta stage.
I can proud to say that ATEEZ is the King of Performance in Kpop 🤧❤ this group need more recognition
They were filming Kingdom for 2 days straight with no sleep in the middle of their new albu promotion, I remember they haven't slept for 3 days, they are really hardworking!
And 4 of them were also filming their drama Imitation.

It's partially their song, I guess, it's been *very* heavily rearranged (the original is great too).
Not sure if you care about how these stages place within the storyline but in case you do:
all of Kingdom (apart from The Real which was the unrelated finale) shows the story from the point of view of Halateez (only present as the scarecrow in Halazia).
The Rhythm Ta stage is the first part - Halateez are the rebels who break into a vault with banned art to steal the Cromer that will allow them to travel between dimensions and in time, and to make contact with Ateez.
The Wonderland stage - on the ship Hongjoong turns the Cromer, which lands them wherever Krakens are, who knows where it might be, maybe the actual 17th century, maybe another alternate dimension.
The Wave intro stage - there's a shipwreck.
Then there's a jump in time - Halateez get captured by the government but they (or their selves from a different moment in time, who knows) manage to contact Ateez and bring them to their world using the Cromer (that's roughly the backdrop to Halazia, since it's told from an external point of view and shows people treating Halateez as maybe fallen heroes or even legends, and then Ateez appearing - we don't really know how much time passed there, the prison Halateez were in seems to keep people in a sort of stasis). Then Stuff Happens and Yeosang gets separated from the group and eventually captured.
The Answer stage - the finale of that part of the story - Halateez (we don't know how they'd gotten free) save Yeosang and fight the android guardians.
After that comes the new part of the story starting with Guerrilla.
This why they're called "The performance kings" 👑

LOVING UR REACTIONS TO ATEEZ!!!! I HIGHLY RECOMMEND WATCHING BLACK CAT NERO …ATEEZ covered the song BLACK CAT NERO which is an original song by the band Turbo. Ateez competed on a show called immortal songs and perform a remix of BLACK CAT NERO in front of the original singers. The performance was soo good that they won the show and also made a Performance MV featuring one of the original singer(kim jungkook)!

ATEEZ are different man
Yes a new reaction to Ateez I'm so happy :D, all the covers that Ateez release are unique is as if they appropriated the song, of course without detracting from the original singers but Ateez puts that unique feature that makes you enjoy the songs in another way, you could also react to "Black cat Nero" Ateez makes an excellent adaptation of this song.
Some things that happen in this performance:
1. San was injured and limping backstage but you can barely notice because he never showed it while performing 😭 (the fancam revealed this)
2. The very end connects to the beginning of the Wonderland kingdom performance!
3. They took inspo from La casa de papel!

Their Kingdom performances are connected and have a lot of storyline but it's difficult to understand for people who are not familiar with them.

Their version is a way better than the original. sorry for the Ikon but it's the true. The choose of classical music that Honjoong , the leader , choose for all their song ( even Wonderland, Answers and this one ) in this show is insane. he didn't sleep for a week to choose the right classical music that fits for every somng. it's and awesome work, the choreo is phenomenal and their power is always amazing!
