Talking he re about the design and cultural significance of the 1880 Buckbee banjo.
For more on this please visit my webpage: www.TheresaVaughn.com
I see this banjo as a key that opens a door to the feeling and awareness of a very golden time 1880-1896. While France was having its Belle Époque, a similar Golden Age was happening here.... our Belle Époque .
I have posted all my videos on my "Videos by Banjo Stories" RUclips channel:
    / @banjostories7002
I 'm now learning to accompany the entire Act 1 finale ( by Ivan Caryll ) from the "Little Christopher Columbus" show (1893-1896). It may be the most wonderful music to play on
the Buckbee banjo... It's multifaceted, complex, simple, romantic, sweet and very Parisian.
One part makes you think of tipsy Charlie Chaplin. It has the two cancan sections I used in my "Trip to Gay Paree" video. One cancan part is near the start the other sparkles near the end... When the full finale is played as composed
it is extremely magical; you feel like you're drinking wine in a Parisian cabaret in the 1890's.
Hopefully a causal relaxed workshop jam version of it with a midi track will be posted here
    soon.
Enjoy and feel free to email if you have questions
or wish to discuss music / culture. Len@TheresaVaughn.com
    Kindest regards,
    Len

Being a guitarist that loves American primitive guitar and Ragtime and early blues styles, i just knew an old buckbee was perfect for me to learn banjo! I just got one very similar to yours same buckbee head shape lol. I put nylon strings on mine and decided to fingerpick it more melodic style as frailing seemed foreign to me. Thanks for the inspirational video! History is important and to play an instrument that is more than a hundred years old is wonderful! think of the stories the players have told while they played the Buckbee. MT

Hi Len! I bet you don't remember me, but I helped you fix your email back in 2017. I once worked as a customer service technician back then. You told me about Theresa Vaughn, and your interest in banjos. Anyway, I just wanted to say hi, and I hope you're doing well. Thanks!
