its easy to believe and follow holly spirit and do good things when everything is going great. not everyone can afford to be that pure or generous. of course my idea of being generous is probably quite different than yours. considering your idea of being good is going to church every Sunday, and my is being kind to all others regardless of their background will it be ethnicity, gender, nationality, religion, or species. (not that I always am) also I don't like any form of organized religion be it Christianity, Islam, or whatever. the path to find oneself lies within oneself and unfortunately circumstances as well. to me circumstances imposed by others and the environment (when I say environment I don't so much mean different lifeforms but rather place and position one is in) are only obstacles. that includes organized religion as well as politics bad economical status those who would take away your resources and especially those who would prevent you from gaining knowledge or creativity. or even did anything to discourage you that is enough to piss me of. and my soul belongs to me not anyone or anything else. I'm no one's property not Gods not devils and certainly not yours. If holly spirit really exists and he is good he would understand that. that of course does not mean that there should be no laws. but the reason why some people start to believe that there is no objective morality is because everyone tells them that it is their morality that is subjective while morality of those who tell them that is objective one. but just because you say that your truth is the objective one doesn't mean that it isn't you who are in the wrong about which morality is the objective one.
now that absolutely doesn't mean that there is no objective morality and lot of things that are in the bible can be counted as objective morality. such no killing no stealing and no lying but not everything in the bible or any other religious book is objective truth. and people's interpretation of what it is varies greatly and some if not most of those interpretations are incorrect. and often have more to do with culture or worse political climate of that time than what is written in those books much less what is objective morality.
You belong to God not yourself.. he created you fearfully & wonderfully He's your first & last Father.

I don't belong to anyone else. especially someone like you. as far as organized religion it is annoying and self righteous at best (notice I said self righteous not righteous there is a difference) politically motivated to right down genocidal at worst. there was a time when people thought that being left handed meant you are in league with the devil. babies were left in woods to die if they had medical condition that caused them to have two pairs of teeth because it was thought they had something to do with the devil. entire populations were killed over religion. or should I say under pretext of religion. native languages were considered illegal in the name of it. in some cases it was strictly politics disguised as religion. but in some cases those people actually believed that they were doing work of God. so basically making war over which side eggs should be peeled thinner or thicker because it might as well be over something like that considering that christian dominations seem to be fighting over things like which is the best holiday or is Christmas tree ok to have during holidays. then again I'm prone to fight over same thing. to me Mormonism is nothing more than exercise in stupidity. either that or politics of trying to gain power. i hate Islam as well. Well hate is a strong word considering I never really met true Islamic follower so I don't really know. but while I find American women difficult to deal with. and lots of them are shallow and lets be honest selfish and arrogant (although same thing can be said about American men) The idea of preventing someone from learning simply because they are women is basically oppression. almost a form of feudalism only instead of nobles oppressing peasants I will have to be honest in this case its men oppressing women. and I'm saying this as a man who himself does not really understand women and has difficult time dealing with them and hates fashion in all its forms but even I wouldn't go that far.
also it has nothing to do with what is written in religious texts its more like tradition. as far as Christianity there is barely a mention about homosexuality. most stories like Sodom and Gomorrah are about rape not homosexuality. and they are not same thing. now there is a verse or two about that homosexuality being a sin. which all the more proves that bible while insightful and was written by wise men. most of it is exactly that written by men not God. and it was written in spirit of the times with basically good ideas but ones some of which would be outdated by now. I don't know if Christ was God or not. I don't know if there is a God or not. but one way or another Gospels were written by Christ's apostles not Christ himself. apostles who were wise for their time but had flaws like anyone else and not everything they said was perfect and absolute truth.
also the idea that someone who truly believes in christian God goes to heaven even if they committed horrible sins while someone who was born to different religion even if they were best people in the world are going straight to hell simply because they don't believe in this particular God or they haven't even heard about him in some cases. that is not justice and even if Christian God really is a God then if he is like people on sites like this one consider him to be then he is evil and needs to be overthrown. now don't get me wrong if devil exists he would be even worse and he needs to simply be exterminated and what I'm saying might be cruel and if there is a chance for either one or preferably both of them to come to their senses than maybe I can work with them. but from what I see so far God you worship if he is what you say he is he should not be a God. and if devil is what church describes him as he needs to simply be destroyed. (of course that is if either one of them is real in a first place.)
but one thing my soul belongs to me no one and nothing else. also animals have souls just like humans do, they are just not as advanced (notice I said less advanced not less important) Now God(if he exists and any of this really happened) send a plague on Israel because David chose to inspect his men before the battle despite God saying that he will protect Israelites and he doesn't need to do that. what David did was what any good commander would do. even if your mine units are tanks and air force you still make sure infantry is ready no matter how confident you are of your tanks and planes. also God didn't just punish him he punished all of his people who did nothing. I wouldn't treat an ant like that much less a human being.
also some religions allow place like purgatory. but some simply believe that its either heaven or hell. and according to some those who don't go to church every Sunday are more likely to go there then those who killed stole lied raped and were greedy, narcissistic jealous and so on.
now I know some people who call themselves Christians hate astrology (they also thing that watching Disney movies where magic is involved is a sin which once again for me is ludicrous) but the truth is that religion and astrology have lots in common. and yes I did look at my birth chart (I guess I'm going to hell) I liked most of what I saw and things I didn't I figured I will work on. one thing that I didn't like at all is what was called finger of God. now you either believe that astrology is nonsense like I once did or you believe it is real but we shouldn't use it because somehow we have no right to discover our selves because that means we might have some choice in forging our path and in your mind our fate is solely up to God. (for me this kind of thinking is insane but whatever) but in any way finger of God which doesn't specify what God so it could be a Christian God it could be Muslim god or any other God but the bottom line is my path is supposed to be towards Venus which symbolizes love and things that are supposed to stand in my way are Neptune and Pluto which represent imagination and transformation. but imagination is one of the greatest things that can be. and being able to transform is the foundation of evolution. also both are big parts of my identity. and I shouldn't have to give up something that defines me in order to gain something that should already be rightfully mine.
now this is astrology but what you describe as God owning my soul is a same thing only worse.
no one has the right to stand in the way of my evolution no one has the right to decide my destiny. and that is what you really hate evolution (which can mean both biological evolution or evolution in a sense of growing in of itself of any kind) and knowledge. things that I hold very dear.
and wondering about what is and how one thing is this way and another is this way and imagination exploration and yes this does sometimes include questioning things but this is how you learn. those are good things. and someone who doesn't question anything that is comfortable to them at the moment (like for example saying that someone who is left handed is evil or that people who are outcasts or just not liked by someone else are witches or something of that notion because it is politically or personally convenient) and doesn't question either it or themselves and is very confidant about what they are saying they can get lot of people to follow them and they will appear smarter then they really are but they are the ones who are usually stupid. someone who is smart will usually not sound that confidant at less that is something they truly believe in after considering all the things involved. they are more likely to question things both from the outside and they will question themselves as well. they will rarely sound as confident because even though they are smart they realize that anyone can be wrong including themselves and they will try to see all points of view. they will not gain as many followers because they will not sound as confident while someone who is talking nonsense (like the idea that seeing children's cartoon with magic is a sin) will sound so confidant that people will start believing him even if he is an idiot but it is a person that questions everything even themselves who is usually the smarter one.
now regardless if I'm stupid or smart right or wrong in this case I'm pretty confident because someone who considers watching cartoons with magic a sin is obviously an idiot and I question myself very little in this subject because chances of this person being right about this being something evil are virtually non existent regardless if it is a sin or not.
