I have waited years for this. Finally the Hammond Organ that my bandmate Boogie, rest his sole, played in the 70's. I bought the Hammond program from IK but I have been fighting it for a long time without any progress. The manual about setup is a disaster and I was hoping to play the instrument on my Roland midi EXR-3. Doesn't work. Now Toontrack came to the resque. Thank you.
Over the years I have grown a large collection of Toontrack instruments and midies, so now I have reached 75 of them. Only the drums, keys, midi's and some editing features. I play basses and guitars myself so now it is time to dig in working.
Cheers, JohnnyH-DK
Great to hear!
This looks amazing. Truly impressed.
Thank you!
The Hammond B3 Electric Organ is the Pipe Organ's little brother. It was originally designed as a more compact and affordable alternative to the Pipe Organ that's also easier to keep in tune for Churches, but it became a big hit when it found its way onto Center stage of Bands. This Organ is a bit different from a Pipe Organ because it has Tone Wheels that spin in front of Magnetic Pickups to create the sound.
I was curious how you would pull off the controls. Very cool!
Thanks!
I have some good software organs but this is by far the best!
Muy bueno, por favor chicos de toontrack saquen mas productos para musica latina
Sounds great! Thanks for delivering!
Just when I was talking to my bandmates about the logistics of recording the hammond organ at our practice room! Thanks, Toontrack!
You're welcome!
Amazing!! Great tool!!! Thk you Toontrackers!!
Thank you!
Ho-ho-ho, we're rolling! I hope the Leslie drive sounds real and not like artificial distortion so many of these organ plugins have, because I will be pushing that drive button like crazy! This thing can rock hard, right? Right?! 🤘 Every Hammond plugin should have Lord/Wakeman/Emerson patches by default!
It does rock hard, we are certain!
@@toontrack It sounds a lot like the Hammond Organ used in lots of songs
Well color me pale and take my money! It was worth the wait Toontrack, looks and sounds great!
Thanks!
Yes!
The Drawbars are basically your Stops that slide in and out, plus you can adjust the volume of each one.
The inverted Color preset Keys at the bottom of the Keyboards are actually like the Divisional Pistons on a Pipe Organ.
i've got that many bloody Hammond emulations now..... the NI one, the Arturia one, the UVI one..... and I nearly bought the IK one as well.
Why didn’t you get B3X? At least get T-Racks Leslie to run your organs through.
Great, I love this attention to detail and all the features. Makes me hope we'll finally get an EZguitar(ist) in the near future. Other question: What is that white FADER controller in the video at 0:50 (name and brand) ? I haven't seen that one before, but I want that!
It’s from a company called “the MIDI maker” - it’s the 5x sparrow MIDI Controller.
@@toontrack Thanks a lot! I'll check it out!
Does this beat IK media organ?
Classical Organists can now play their favorite Organ works on the Hammond
Hi if I use a preset say( Grey Onions)from sesion organ how can I control the rotor speed? If I use the Rotar preset then the Grey Onions settings are gone.
Hope you can help me Thanks
Gr.Nes
Are the mic distances and positions adjustable? The demo here sounds like the mics are on opposite sides of the cabinet and very close with tons of amplitude modulation. I very much prefer them them back a few inches and L&R about a foot apart on the same side of the cabinet.
Hi! It depends on the preset. There are presets that have a Mic Control effects knob group where you can adjust, amongst other options, Distance and Spread. Other presets do not have that panel and the mics are static in those presets.
Are these mic'd samples (like Hauptwerk) or digitally synthesized approximations?
Hi, around 1:30 in this video it is described that the tonewheels were sampled for this EKX. At 2:30 the method of capturing the rotary speaker is explained.
wrong link in description
Thanks for reporting this, the link should be fixed now.
This is witchcraft! Wonderful sounding witchcraft! Lots of work and ingenuity went into this and it shows
Thank you!
Nice job. One suggestion is to have the black key "tonal presets" morph from one to another and not be so abrupt...which wouldn't be a natural change on a real organ with someone changing the draw bars manually.

When EzGuitar comes?
