  • This is when belonging to a Model A club or multiple clubs comes in handy and your Model A family helps you out!
Recently the Santa Maria Model A club was hosting a tour and they came to our neck of the woods, so we met them all for dinner in Jackson, CA which is a 35 minute drive for us.
During their travels to our area, our friend John heard a loud noise, Paul checked out underneath and saw that the spring broke about 3-4 inches from the shackle attachment!
Paul had to work the next day, but we opened our shop to them so they could fix the spring and get back on the road!
In today’s video I’ll show you what they did and how it went!
If you haven’t subscribed yet, please do, I really appreciate it!
Have a wonderful week and keep those Model A’s driving for generations to come!

Tina, this video is a great example of teamwork I suspect these gentlemen were in the same Model A club.

Hi Mack! The guys were actually in different Model A clubs, but they all get together for tours and stuff, if I’m remembering correctly there was 3-4 clubs doing the tour together, so awesome!

Wow! That was a pretty big job! However it’s great when fellow enthusiasts come to help! I suppose the job was completed twice as fast or maybe even quicker? Yet it was also a dangerous job, but that spreader is a great tool to get the job done. But we all know it would have never been finished if you weren’t there to supervise and to instruct them on how to properly do it! Great Job Tina, and great video as well!

Thank you so much Wayne! Many things could have been done to make the job easier and safer, but we just offered our shop so they could continue their long journey and I supervised as much as I could, I was a nervous hen knowing how dangerous this repair can be if not done right 💕

Hi Tina! I watched your video this morning and was surprised that Paul was nowhere to be found. I imagine that this repair happened on a weekday when he was out working. You both are very generous and helpful to the Model A community! Thank you thank you thank you!

I can’t even remember what day that fell on but yes, Paul had a team of guys to do a project at work and couldn’t miss it. I was left in charge lol
I’m sure the guys were tired of hearing me constantly supervise them…the project was making me nervous the way they were handling things until John the experienced one came back…I got them to take a coffee break 😁😂

The spreader wouldn’t have engaged on the right as the eye was broken off. I’m sure glad they moved those jack stands or that would have been a mess. “Too many cooks.” Lol
