Obviously there are only three entries in a trilogy but out of the classic titles this one, Mega man 2 and Mega Man 6 are the most aesthetically satisfying to me and 4 has a unique sound to its soundtrack, heavy inspiration from the East.
While 3 has my favorite soundtrack overall in the series, and many of the others are better than this one if you're looking for more traditional Mega Man upbeat almost-rock music, this soundtrack is beautiful. Try the PS1 Complete Works version in hard mode there are no power ups and 1ups. When you have to fight all of them at the end guess who will take one of your lives on the fight alone.

This is the first of the mega man series that I've played. I was 10 years old and up to until now, I'm still playing it.
The last really great entry in the NES era. The rest are just ok.
