- At one point, Shea Patterson was a prodigy 5 star QB from IMG and was seen as the future of college football. Sadly, he got screwed at Ole Miss and underwhelemed at Michigan so he went undrafted in 2020 and never got his chance in the NFL. So what happened? Today, I want to talk about the rise & fall of Shea Patterson and what went wrong, enjoy!

Shea Patterson is currently battling for the back up QB with Mason Fine in Saskatchewan Rough Riders. He might get the role over Fine because he played a good pre-season game against Edmonton a few days ago. Patterson looks like he's putting it all together now
Where can someone watch a replay or highlights of that game?
He’s currently 2-1 now as a starter in the CFL for the Saskatchewan Roughriders.
Some guys just don't have it. Shea probably should have transferred to a different school other than Michigan. Michigan and Jim Harbaugh was a national title contender virtually every year. High expectations for a QB coming of injuries a lot of times don't work out well.
As a Michigan fan this was always bewildering.
Not a clickbait title so I clicked.
Awesome video
Diehard Michigan fan. He didn’t have a strong enough arm, he was a “touch passer” who needed misdirection, etc. but in a pro-scheme he was exposed.
Shea won back to back state championships with cousin when he played for Calvary that team was some serious
Max Duggan or Matt Corral next
I think you nailed with your assessment of moving around too much. No consistency in his development.

I’m an Ole Miss fan, but I had my doubts with his size and arm strength. He did resemble Manziel in the Texas A&M game his freshman year, but I think this was a situation of the recruiting publications just getting it wrong with the scouting.
Patterson is looking a lot better than Manziel did in the CFL.
As a Michigan fan I had such high hopes for Shea but I don’t think he ever truly bought in
you say never making it to the nfl like that’s a bad thing
Matt corral next
Shea made some bad decisions…couldn’t stick it out
*Calvary Baptist Academy*
hugh freeze is one old school deep south gangster
Made this whole video and bro could still walk in a bar in Canada and pull bc he’s QB1 in the CFL
Well, he's started 3 games for SSR because the QB1 is injured.
@@billbaird2273 you just proved my point😭at the end of the day he still qb1 rn
As a diehard Michigan fan I was Never impressed by Shea. Patterson and he only made backup Qb in the NFL mostly practice ball and the KC cut him. It’s nothing personal and I have shared my opinion with him as well. He tried practice ball with KC before cutting him and I thought I was done seeing him until the USFL and of course he was a Michigan Panther Qb and that didn’t pan out for him in USFL so he played CFL and I think he got a million dollar contract playing Canadian football so even though he is a subpar Qb at least he’s got some money. Wonder if he’s one of the people Biden is going to make us pay off their student loans lol wouldn’t that be something but I imagine he stated under scholarship at was it Iowa? I don’t remember but he was a bust there as well. Some got it some don’t.
This comment should be cited as a prime example in a case study diving into how a decline in everyday mental functioning manifests as a result of exposure to leaded gasoline fumes. In what world does a division one QB recruit that got full ride scholarship offers have student loan debt?
1 mil in the CFL, what are u smoking
I don't think he ever got a $1,000,000 CFL contract, or had student loans...but if those things were true I suppose he could hypothetically use some of the $1,000,000 to pay off the hypothetical student loans.
Why the f//k did you bring up politics??? I know the people who have to deal with you are miserable
@@videogamefreak221122he 100% has no life
He should have stayed at Ole Miss 🙄
What happened? Media and content creators start star-blasting kids in the middle school before they’ve even hit puberty. Then they don’t grow up as much as they hyped him and their names are forgotten. That’s what happened
this is the easiest question to answer ever. he transferred to Michigan. which is a hard thing to say since im a Michigan fan but once he left the SEC it was like he was playing down to the competition or he simply forgot how to QB. if he had stayed at Ole Miss even under the NCAA penalties they were handing out to the program, I have zero doubts he would have made an NFL roster.
This is the dumbest take ever. “He forgot how to QB.” Both of your brain cells are fighting for third place.
@@vicariousjohnson9823not really, it’s kinda like markelle fultz in the nba who literally forgot how to shoot, I think he just means that Shea just couldn’t process the play of the position anymore due to factors that happened to him
@@vicariousjohnson9823also like mob players who can go into slumps and/or just forget how to hit
Definitely was , Michigan Qbs usually don’t do well in the NFL because of easy schedule and Michigan being so stacked with talent that the qb doesn’t really need to do much
@@kenneyp.9456 ummm, you're actually talking about ohio st. There have been many QB's from Michigan in the NFL. Grbac, Collins, Griese, Driesbach, Henne, Brady, Navarre. And Henson could've been the best of all but chose baseball before his senior season and that was a big mistake as it turns out. But I'm guessing that you are a young fan and have been watching things for about 10-15 years, a period within which Michigan hasn't put a QB into the league...until this year.
Joe Milton fyi Shea sucked and didn’t know how to compete and as a Michigan fan we weren’t all bought in on him. Shea also sucked trying to play above his level. Really hasn’t made it anywhere as a career. Hell respond to tweets because when I told him he sucked and needed much more work so then I was a bully lol been called worse.
Mid
He was pretty good in a few areas but not elite in any one area. Frustrating as a Michigan fan but it could have been worse.
